Really nice place to visit. Good experience. The train is huge, bigger than i thought it is. And it really is a passenger train, there were people on the train waving at us. The trick waitress showed to us - when train is about to come, put a beer cap on the rail, it will get flat under that big train . You get to have a free souvenir. Downside - check the schedule of trains carefully. We end up spending 3,5 hours waiting for the train. There are not too much clear schedule information online, staff at the cafes will lie about train time. They told us it’s at 19-00, when actually it was 19-30. Internet told us it’s 18-00. But nevertheless everything started to be fully packed at about 16-00. So if you want to get a sit, get there in advance. Worth visiting. No tickets needed.

I visited Train Street twice because the experience to watch the train goes so closely to myself drinking a coffee in a cafe was quite thrilling. I recommend to find the right place to sit 30min before the train comes. I joined the private tour including this experience so that the guide helped to find the best place to watch. In second time I followed the cafe staff who tried to catch customers who get off the taxi near his cafe. No worries about excessive charge for his service;)

The prices are also quite reasonable, which is a plus. The only downside is the train timing — if the train gets delayed, you might end up waiting for quite a long time. But even then, the café owners never pressure you to keep buying anything. You can simply sit, relax, and enjoy the street vibes. Overall, Hanoi Train Street is a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the city — a perfect blend of culture, community, and charm.

Such a fun and unique experience! 🚂✨ We visited during the day and went back again at night — both times were amazing! There are plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby, all welcoming and serving delicious Vietnamese food and, of course, that signature flavoured coffee ☕️. Be sure to check the train schedule in advance and give yourself time to find a good viewing spot before it passes through. It’s relatively safe for children too, as long as you keep a sensible distance from the tracks. My daughter enjoyed collecting the flattened bottle caps off the rails after the train left.

I loved this spot! This was probably the main reason that I have visited Vietnam. The vibes are amazing. The train start around 7pm if you visit 30 minutes before you can get a good spot and a drink. When the trains approach the locals rush around when the bell rings and they move the tables around and relocate people. They tell you which side the train will come and you can prepare yourself accordingly. Do not miss this spot if you are in Hanio it is a must try.

The novelty of sitting near the railway track and how some enterprising people have built a tourist attraction around it. Coming from India where sitting by the tracks has an altogether different meaning. There is a certain thrill of watching the train go by at such close quartets that is undeniable. So don't miss out on the experience. The place looks festive and the buzz is very inviting. Enjoy a beer or some tender coconut while you wait. They also serve some decent food while you wait.
