Our first time here and the food was AMAZING. Crispy garlic chicken, crab wonton, spring rolls, curry lunch combo, pineapple fried rice, we love every dish we got! The staff is wonderful and we will 12/10 be back again!

I've been here with friends and family and it's good no matter what you pick. I typically get the Pud See Ew, and I passed it up to do the Crispy Garlic Chicken - this is so good. Strong garlic, crispy, sweet - this was a powerhouse of a meal. And don't forget to get that crispy banana and coconut ice cream to go!

I'm really surprised with how bad our food was considering the good reviews. We ordered take out and the Pad Kee Mao is some of the worst I've ever had. I don't know if they were having an off night but it was really dry, the noodles and veggies had next to no sauce. The noodles were old and rubbery. The beef was so tough it was like beef jerky. We also got the stuffed chicken appetizer, and it's not worth the money. It was oily, cold, and had no flavor. It was edible at best. The yellow curry was just fine. I definitely wouldn't eat here again, it was disappointing.

I recently went to dine in here with my wife and friend. We were going to a movie in Northgate so decided to eat here before the movie. I am glad we did! The service was great here. I loved the vibe. It was very clean and had a modern vibe with plenty of space. The pricing was also SUPER reasonable for Seattle restaurant prices. The parking is limited, but if you can’t find street parking, there is a lot across the street that is safe to park in during the evening hours if you choose to do so. Also, it is good to note that they stop taking dine-in orders at 8 p.m. even though they close at 9 p.m. Reservations are also highly recommended. The food was phenomenal. Myself and my wife had the basil fried rice with fried tofu. The fried rice had the perfect blend of Thai flavors and tasted fresh with lots of great flavors and spices. I also had the fried spring rolls which had an amazing taste and were perfectly crisp. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the abundance of vegetarian offerings. They all looked so delicious, and you could substitute tofu for just about any meat on the menu. Overall, I highly recommend Chaiyo Thai. They have delicious Thai food that you will love!

THE best Thai food in the world! Ambiance for days. Very clean place and people that love the food they serve, and it shows!

Service was friendly even tho they appear understaffed. Food quality varied with the items we ordered. The noodles we ordered were not stuffed enough resulting in some undercooked/stuck together portions. The curries were good with the highlight being the fish curry. Good neighborhood spot tho.

Such a cute little local spot. We went on a Saturday night and it was barren which was weird because this would totally be my casual weekend dinner spot if I lived closer/walking distance. Thai food is always a fab option when you're going out with pescatarian/vegetarian friends and this was no exception. We ordered the red curry (on the sweeter oniony side), basil fried rice with shrimp (didn't taste fishy, and appropriate portions of shrimp), tom yum soup (classic, hard to beat), and spicy noodles. We kept our spice level at a 3 (1-5 American-style spicy) which was perfect for us to enjoy the food. I think we could have gone for a 4 if we really wanted an extra kick but I always stick to a 3 when first trying a new Thai place. The ambiance is very cool, old school thai restaurant with maximalist vibes (which I love). The entrance is full of lush flowers/plants so it really feels like you're entering a new world when walking in. Service was quick but we were also the only people dining in, so that's expected. I think I'd definitely go back to this spot if I was in the area or looking for a spot for a pescatarian/veg group! Parking - street parking or some parking in the shopping complex across the street.

Joined the clean plate club here at dinner last night with a crispy chicken with vegetables dinner that really hit the spot! Sweet server who took care of us promptly and throughout the meal. Also, absolute props to whoever has the green thumb outside because the flowers at the entrance are absolutely gorgeous and you feel like you're stepping through a garden. Someone really cares, and it shows. Lovely!

On a whim, me and CC decided to check out Chaiyo Thai Cuisine in Seattle's Pinehurst neighborhood (10/31/24). We both lucked out finding street parking right out front. The restaurant's interior was very clean and vast with plentiful seating. Nice and unobtrusive wait staff. We stuck with water of which the wait staff kept us hydrated. The menu had a wide variety of items to select from. The items ordered had me gravitating away from my standard mainstream usuals. Starter appetizer was #1 Pang-Sib which were fried pork and peanut rolls. Flavorful but more like packets not rolls. Nice change from egg rolls, cream cheese crab packets, or satay sticks. Soup was #13 Tom Yum with two stars of heat. This was indeed hot and sour soup with chicken, mushrooms, lemongrass, galangal, kaffir leaves, and lime. Definitely sinus clearing versus the coconut milk based tom kha. Main noodle entree was #66 Pud See Ew with beef. Stir fried wide rice noodles with broccoli, and carrots. Something new versus pud thai. The servings were generous. Taste and texture had restraint. Presentation was streamlined. Seems to do the job for the neighborhood since 2006 (18 years!) and does brisk takeout.

I find it difficult to rate a restaurant on take-out vs dine-in, but here I am giving it a go after friends ordered delivery from Chaiyo for us for dinner. First of all, the food arrived hot which was a huge plus. So often you're presented with a tepid meal after travel that just does not do it justice. Everything we got was really tasty. Spicy noodle (stir fried wide rice noodles with onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, basil leaves, broccoli, and carrots in a spicy sauce) was hot, fresh, tasty, and had a nice kick. Pud see ew was traditional and done well. Veggie pineapple fried rice was also a hit. Minus one star because they forgot about our green curry, which they refunded us for but we wanted to eat it. The rest of what we ordered was thankfully enough for the four of us. A shame they didn't double check the order when it left their restaurant.

We've been ordering to go since Covid, but finally had the opportunity to pop in when our choice for the evening was too packed. I'll be honest and confess my expectations were low considering our delivery experiences sucked. Lacking quality, incorrect orders, portion sizing sparse, and higher prices. I held my breath and enjoyed the evening hoping the curry would satisfy my Thai craving. Service was excellent! There weren't many people on a Friday evening so our food arrived quickly and everything was well portioned and absolutely tasty! We had the Thai iced tea, pud see ew (beef! - which hasn't been available for a long time) Panang curry - so flavorful, 2 stars was the perfect spice level Crispy cashew chicken! My new fav! The bill was reasonable considering we planned on spending quite a bit more on sushi. Looking forward to coming here more often.

Loved eating here! We thought the food and service were both fantastic. We got our dishes at spice level 2, and they were still super flavorful. Will definitely be back next time we are craving Thai.

The Fresh Roles are decent in taste. They are a bit large to eat by fingers. The sweet basil was good too. The quantity is huge. The interior is dark. Did not find much ethnic decoration. But not bad. The staff was polite.

Very authentic Thai dishes. The service has consistently been friendly. Great variety of dishes to meet everyone's palate. The ambiance is nice and clean.

Our first time here and what a delight! We had a lovely dinner. Our daughter had the yellow curry, my husband had the pepper beef, and I had the vegetable dish with peanut sauce. My husband said they forgot to add his 3 stars, but he still enjoyed the flavor. Our daughter and I loved the option of no stars, and the flavor was all there! We also enjoyed the fried bananas and coconut ice cream. The portion was excellent for sharing! The server was exceptional! We will definitely return!

I have driven by Chaiyo Thai since the restaurant was opened (20+ years), but I've never eaten there until recently. I've been to Thailand a dozen time so I'm familiar with Thai food. Chaiyo Thai was a pleasant surprise to me. The menu selection is extensive, but I've only eaten there for lunch. The lunch prices are very reasonable. The quantity and quality are very good. The waitress was attentive. The interior has a Thai atmosphere. There are a couple of other Seattle area Thai restaurants that I think are better, but Chaiyo Thai is more reasonably located for me and its prices are better. I will return and return frequently when I get a Thai food craving.

Yummy food, generous portions, and vegan choices. Was there last evening around 6p (12/1/24) and couldn't have had a lovelier waiter. So accommodating, checking in us , and overall excellent in EVERY way. So very cozy, especially during Christmas!!

This place is not good. The food is mediocre at best. There are not a lot of Thai restaurants around here, and so I think people just have been content. I have been here 4-5 times, and I have been disappointed each time. Ordered "combination fried rice" that dish includes under cooked onions, rice with no flavor, and chicken and 3 prawns. Usually, a combination, has, beef, chicken, and BBQ pork (or something similar). Don't waste your money.

Chicken Pud See Ew was good. Plan on trying more dishes from this place to give a more detailed review. Menu on their website looks great! Mouth-watering photos!

Good food. Very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. The place has a nice charm. Reminds you of when things were simpler.

Chaiyo is my family's favorite local Thai restaurant and has been our consistent go-to for the last several years. They have a very extensive menu, my favorite item is the mussel omelet which not many other Thai restaurants carry. Their heavenly eggplant and crispy garlic chicken are also wonderful. The portions are sizable and the food is tasty. The service is consistently good and food comes out quick and fresh. I have also ordered third-party delivery from this restaurant and it arrived tasting just as good as dining in-person.

Walked in and was greeted immediately by the staff, they were super friendly! The space was clean and beautifully decorated. Love that they had a lot of food options and generous about their portion size. The food was delicious, would definitely come back!

Nice ambiance, the hostesses and servers are all very polite and thorough. The pineapple fried rice is probably my favourite entree in Seattle.

Whenever I'm in the area, I'm sure to swing by Chaiyo!! I take my Thai food very seriously and this has to be one of my favorites. I've only come here a few times but the service is ALWAYS friendly and fast. My favorites to get here are the Crispy Garlic Chicken and the Pud See Ew. A perfect blend of sweet, savory, and spicy (by choice of course). I was pleased to meet the owners the last time I had went, you can definitely tell they prioritize their customers experience. The custest little gem in the Pinehurst neighborhood. 10/10 recommend!!!

Reasonably priced, pleasant decorations, polite staff: this is your average Thai restaurant. Not anything to go out of your way for, but if you happen to live close by and don't wanna drive, then it'll suffice. The "Pud Thai" noodles were coated in over-concentrated sauce. The noodles were congealed together in clumps, making me think it wasn't cooked fresh but pulled from a large batch made earlier in the day. Similarly, the "Hidden Treasure" had an assortment of seafood that tasted a little TOO fishy: the scallops or squid were definitely not from the catch of the day (hopefully the catch of the week). To its credit, there were a lot of big pieces, so I felt like I got my money's worth (unlike other places that overload the dish with veggies and skimp on the seafood). Both dishes should have been a lot warmer. I wondered whether the food had just been microwaved. The 2/5 star spice is nothing at all. I recommend liberally sprinkling on the pepper flakes they keep on the side for an improved dining experience. The spicy oils and pepper flakes were the true Hidden Treasure of the meal. If I were to ever return, I would get one of the "Sizzling" dishes. They looked exciting and plentiful, and were actually unique to this restaurant.

Spacious and a wide selection of dishes, this place is great for date night or friends gathering. Aside from thr typical dishes like pad thai, pad see eww, and such, this place also serves some authentic dishes that you don't always find elsewhere. The prices are pretty reasonable, and services were great!

Chaiyo Thai is my neighborhood go to place.. I have ordered for pickup, delivery and eat in and I'm always satisfied. I love their Tom Kah Gai soup! The garden delight angel it's definitely a delight. Service is always friendly and the restaurant is always clean!

I've grown to love this spot for their pad Thai and its my go to spot for pad Thai take out in the area! Give them about 20 minutes for take out orders so plan ahead. Love the fried egg and portions!

The food is amazing. We come here whenever we want really good Thai food. The staff is always very friendly and courteous. The only reason I've give a 4 start (and not 5) is the fact that sometimes the service can be a little faster.

I assume that this restaurant is not making their own fried spring rolls, because I bit down on a bolt that was part of the filling of the spring roll. We called to warn them, but they though we wanted free food and offered us that. When we said we didn't want food, but wanted to warn them, they didn't understand why we were calling. So far as I know, they have not done anything to recall this batch or protect their customers. I will report this to King County Food Protection office at 206-296-4774, Monday when they open. This is dangerous to teeth and was small enough to swallow if you didn't chew well. The food has always tasted good. I am sad to learn that they don't make the product they sell, and that they don't understand the danger to health that they are causing by not dealing with this information.

Stumbled across this place while in Seattle. Was looking for a place that had Mee Krob on the menu as most places in CA have pulled it from their appetizer choices. Also ordered the pork Pad See Ew and their wonton soup. The Pad See Ew was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. The soup was also amazing, but note - when they ask you the spice level, unless you're really fine with spicy things, just get a level 1. Level 2 was pretty potent....i can't imagine what 5 (their highest) would have been like. So now to the one thing i really was looking forward to...the Mee Krob. Sad to say that it wasn't good. Let's break it down...the sauce was great, the shrimp and tofu bites were good....but the noodles themselves...they had a very strong rancid smell. Like they had been cooked in old oil, or had been sitting and waiting to be used for quite a while. I am still giving Chaiyo 4 stars though because the other dishes were delicious, and everything i saw other people ordering looked amazing as well. And i could tell that the mee krob had potential...but they just need to smell or taste the fried noodles before mixing in with the other ingredients. All in all, i would recommend...one iffy dish did not ruin my overall feel for this place and their food.

My wife and I have been going to Chaiyo for years. Whenever we end up at a different Thai food place we always compare it to how good Chaiyo is because it is such a staple in our lives and in the community. The staff is always warm and welcoming. We always look forward to our nights going back.

Not authentic thai food. Its like if you tried to make thai cuisine by shopping at a new seasons. If anyone had has thai food, you would know this isnt thai. The laab is missing so much seasoning and flavors.. its not even laos laab, not laab at all. its also colorless.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Great food, service and prices. Our waiter Tae greeted us immediately, was so friendly and accommodating. Gave us all the suggestions and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food was bomb! Hit our spicy level exactly as we wanted. Left feeling confident any meal we ordered would be good. Best Thai place in our neighborhood, will definitely be back again

Love this thai place! We can't get enough of the phad thai with veggies. Doesn't make my celiac husband sick (a lot of Thai places claim "gluten free" but think that only pertains to the noodles.. not the soy sauce or other contamination possibilities) and the vegetables are actually seasoned and delicious compared to most Thai places where it feels like they dumped in some frozen veg and call it good. The Panama curry, see ew, and springs rolls are all delicious! Parking can be tricky, but I can usually find stuff in the neighborhood area. Its close to a bus stop and a tavern, so there's some good people-watching (but not a great view otherwise). The staff here is great! We always have ordered to-go, and they've got our orders right every time. And are extremely courteous and understanding as it takes me a while to pay while I hold a wiggly toddler.

Fantastic tofu Tom yum soup! The vibe inside is really nice, as well. They ran out of fresh rolls by 7ish, so know that can happen!

I enjoy every bite of my meal here, every single time. Finally I have found the Thai place I can always count on. Exceptional taste, amazing food, decent Ambience and good service. I have tried a variety of dishes multiple times and have never been disappointed. Usually at other Thai places I have had hit n misses but this place is a gem. My personal favorite combination here is crab cake, yellow curry fried rice and Thai Ice Milk Tea. I highly recommend this place. I just want to caution about the parking though. The street parking is kind of tough to get here at peak times. There are just very limited spots around. Be prepare to walk like 2-3 blocks. It's not too bad.

I grew up eating here and hadn't been back in probably 15+ years. Owners changed and honestly I couldn't tell you if the food did either. Food was fine, really basic Thai. Ordered the curry fried rice and it had a nice spice to it, the tom yum soup was pretty standard and the phad thai was a little on the sweet side. Might have been different if we had ordered things we USED to get (fried fish, pineapple fried rice, etc.) but overall, it was tasty and prices weren't outrageous. Service was good, only thing for me was there was a dishwasher smell in the air that seemed to linger/stay.

I've been coming here for a while now and decided to come again during the holiday season! The food is really authentic but the wait time is too extensive. I waited around 45 minutes for my first dish to come out and it looked like there was only one waitress taking orders, checking in people, giving to-go orders, etc.

Cute little restaurant front, with outdoor seating as you walk up. Parking isn't awesome, but street parking is free if you can find it! It was quiet for a Sunday at lunch, so the host let me sit anywhere I wanted. The waitress quickly brought me water and I was ready to order since I knew exactly what I wanted. The Fresh Rolls were AWESOME. The tofu (option to get tofu or shrimp) was perfectly cooked and wasn't mushy or anything. They give you 2 dipping sauces, the usual peanut sauce (which was warm, such a game changer!) and the sweet n spicy that I would expect for egg rolls (great change of flavor!). Great start to the meal. I then got the Pud Thai with beef, which was a healthy sized portion. I was fortunate to have plenty for leftovers. The sauce was less umami than I tend to like but was still great and tangy. If you like a hint of spice, I would recommend getting 2 stars, as the 1 star I got had no spice at all, which wasn't a problem. They give you lots of sprouts, carrots, and chives with the dish, which really brought out more flavor dimension. The staff were all really warm and welcoming, they checked in at good intervals, and were quick. I really enjoyed this experience, as I had been craving Thai food since moving back to Seattle.

Wow. My first time here per husbands request and I am absolutely pleased. This restaurant is very unassuming from the outside and is connected to a pub. It doesn't look like much, ya know? But it is so pretty inside, very classic Thai decor and warm lighting. Friendly staff always make it that much better. We ordered the noodle delight (3 stars) with beef and the mussaman curry (1 Star) with tofu. The noodle delight had the most delicious creamy peanut flavor and my husband loved it. Perfect amount of spice for 3 stars. My curry was the best mussaman curry I've ever had, I think. The potato and tofu were cooked perfectly and the flavor was my idea of perfect. Also, it was slightly thicker and I really enjoyed that. Oh, and Thai iced tea was delicious as I expect and served in a fancy-ish glass. I can't wait to go back. Notes- good portions, VERY reasonably priced, good service.

If there's a better Thai place in Seattle, I'd like to try it! I've been coming here for 20 years and I've never been disappointed Natalie was just a great server! Very attentive and accommodating. This is a great place for any occasion and same family has been running it for almost 30 years. Don't miss this one! I flew up from Texas and all I could think about was how I wish they would open a location in Dallas

My husband and I didn't get to try the food because we left. We showed up at 4pm and the place was empty with three empty outdoor tables on a beautiful day. We asked if we can sit outside, but the attendant told us that that only opens at 4 o'clock... But it already was 4 o'clock. The woman was in the middle of cleaning and prepping and left us with menus for some time while more people showed up. It just felt like a cold atmosphere and will take some time to get your food or water. We left. We may order takeout.

The flavors here are delightful! Everything we got was delicious and worth coming back for. I'd say my favorite dish was a tie between the crispy garlic chicken and the coconut ice cream (which had fried bananas). This is easily our new go-to Thai restaurant!

Ordered the usual, pud thai and oyster broccoli. Really disappointed. Not sure there was any oyster sauce, no garlic and the pud thai had chunks of tamarind. Not sure what happened to the quality

Time to update my previous review which may have been unfair. I have only had stellar service and meals at Chaiyo over the years. I have since moved from the neighborhood and still miss their food.

I love this place. It's a fave of mine and my daughter's. Food is consistently good. Fresh and flavorful! And the service is always good too.

So, we go to this place for 1 thing. The wonton soup. Other dishes are fine, but not that flavourful. I recommend the soup. They make the wontons and it's a satisfying and filling dish. The staff are friendly.

I love Chaiyo. The pork fried rice and Thai iced tea are so good. The serving staff is all really nice and I am always satisfied with the service and the food.

Ordered pick-up tonight since I was running errands around the area, and was extremely disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. On the upside, the food did come out quicker than the quoted time, and the portions were substantial. (Something that's hard to find in Seattle) I ordered the pad see ew and was really disappointed with the execution of the dish. If you're a pad see ew lover like me - fair warning, this is not your traditional recipe. There just isn't a good balance between savory or sweet, and it made for a rather lackluster meal. I also didn't appreciate their choice of using regular broccoli and not Chinese broccoli, as well as having unevenly cut carrots. This made for really undercooked vegetables with too much bite... My partner did enjoy the green curry that they served and the crab wontons were also good, but nothing to boast about. Overall, it's good if you want thai food that appeals to the American palate, but we will not be back as there are better authentic tasting thai restaurants that are closer to us.

I think they must be doing something right because so many people have good things to say about them...but this is NOT a vegetarian-friendly place. The ambience was fine, relatively quiet and dark, server was friendly. Actually, a special thank you to the server who was honest about ingredients. We left hungry.

Messed up the order, missing items. Call about the issue, they did nothing. The person doesn't know how to run a business and being able to handle situation like this....they are losing their long-term loyal customers for good no matter how good your food is....
