Chalet Cheese Haus

Edited to Add: The owner refunded my cheese purchase. I didn't ask for a refund. I am updating my review to reflect the excellent customer service given. Thank you, Mary! We entered the store with the highest expectations, based on other reviews. There was a good variety of cheeses. However, as we looked through the coolers, we noticed some inflated packaging and mold on some of the cheese. Despite this, we made a purchase. Upon cutting into our cheese, we discovered mold on the inside. I'm hoping this was just a fluke. We hope to give it another try on a return visit.

The was THE best grilled sandwich! The smell was amazing, the length of the cheese pull was long, and the crunch of the bread was so crisp. You won't be disappointed ... gotta try the grilled cheese sandwich.

So New Glarus has peaked my interest, and our quick drive through makes me want to go back and slow down. The Chalet Cheese House came up during a quick google search looking for cheese before leaving WI. We absolutely lucked out on parking as we pulled up in front of the post office. Our truck and rv fit in the local parking spots. Again this was pure lucky! The attendant in the Chalet had samples and she helped us choose some cheeses. This stop was pure luck, and the town of New Glarus looks a great quiet place to visit.

Wonderful little shop with local cheese, wine, maple syrup, ice cream, and fresh grilled cheeses. Samples of cheeses provided and the cheddar is amazing!

Delicious! I just stopped by today and they have delicious cheese and great prices. They were so welcoming and excited to be open! I also got a grilled cheese which was super tasty. Definitely worth a stop! Try the Swiss 🧀!
