Chalet Hôtel le Prieuré & Spa

A huge thank you to the staff that were so kind when I was sick the first 3 days of a week ski vacation. You brought up tea, a fan and bread as I couldn’t get out of bed for 3 days. Thank you! The rooms are great- the only disappointment was that there was no channels in English but bbc news. Being I was stuck in bed an English Channel would have been wonderful beside news. The location is good- by the bus line. The desk staff was incredible. Thank you. I would like to share one experience that was harsh. The first night I was able to be upright I joined friends for dinner in their CASUAL restaurant/buffet. I was 10 feet away from my group of friends who were in the bar and called one of their names. A restaurant staff man (later I learned was Pascal the restaurant manager!) literally screamed at me to be quiet. I did raise my voice to catch my friend’s attention as it was LOUD and I wanted to let her know I was going to sit down. Pascal was aggressive and it was embarrassing and absolutely not warranted. Additionally he failed to verbally reprimand the man who sat in the restaurant listening to a conference call on his speaker phone which was disruptive to everyone. I guess loud men are ok? Believe me the 30 minute loud speaker phone situation was disruptive. Guests should not be dressed down in public especially calling a friends name- once. He may like his women quiet and subdued at all times but as leadership in a hotel it was not professional. Sadly he distracted from what was incredible service. Shame on you Pascal. I had been violently ill and finally made it downstairs to get scolded by you.

Very well-located 4‑star hotel close to Chamonix village, with good overall facilities. The room was spacious, featuring a balcony with a beautiful view of Mont Blanc. Breakfast offered a nice variety of options, and the reception staff were helpful in providing information about the town. The only downsides were the limited capacity of the spa and the hotel’s environmental policy, which meant there was no minibar in the room. Overall, it was a good experience, though priced at a 5‑star level, including €30 per night for parking.

We had a fantastic stay at Le Prieuré; the hotel feels very homely and intimate, despite being able to accommodate quite a lot of guests. It has a lovely bar and lobby, the staff were all wonderful and unfailingly kind and helpful; the restaurant is very good and the breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. There's also a very good onsite ski shop, a fantastic heated ski and boot room with lots of lockers, and the location is very good too - it's an easy walk to the bus stops, train station, and lots of shops and restaurants, and even one of the cable cars, if you don't mind a short uphill hike. Oh, and there's a lovely spa too, with excellent facilities and treatments, though do be sure to reserve some slots when you arrive, as it does get booked up. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

The hotel is very nice and the room is quite spacious and cute. We stayed in the room with Mountain View and it was fantastic. The room came with free 2-hour spa per day which is basically warm pool, jacuzzi, steam room. It was nice for relaxing after a long hiking day.

We spent over a week in Chamonix at this hotel. It was the best possible choice. The hotel is a bit out of the way but very close to both the center and the trails. Inside, there's a modern fitness room and spa. But above all, the atmosphere is created by the people. Owen and Kate, whom we met here, were incredibly kind and had infectious smiles. Always ready to help and filled with positive energy. We will definitely be back!And Angie - our mix terrier spend the best holiday in Her dog’s life!!!

Fantastic hotel in an excellent location, just a few minutes’ walk from the ski bus stop and a couple of minutes into town. A log fire greets you when you walk into reception and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a perfect mix of modern and cosy, the beds are really comfortable and the Mountain View from our balcony was fabulous (see photo) The spa was exactly what we needed after a great day’s skiing. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as we wanted to walk into town and choose different places each evening but it did look really nice in there. We will definitely be back!

We loved our short break. Everyone was incredibly helpful. It was great that the ski hire shop was attached to the hotel. Very short walk into town and a five minute walk to the bus stop which takes you to the pistes. We really enjoyed the breakfasts and relaxing in the hotel bar, all staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

AMAZING experience at The Prieuré! First of all, excellent location with views of L’aiguille Du Midi and The Mont Blanc. Super central in Chamonix to stroll in the centre of town that’s like a one-minute walk away. Now let’s discuss Jorge at reception. The Best ever!!! Such a wonderful human being and so kind, helpful, passionate and warm. Jorge deserves 6 starts out of five as he made our stay so memorable, giving advice on where to go and what to see. We are so thankful to him and we hope the hotel owners recognize what an amazing asset they have in him. Our room was really lovely, incredible view of the mountains, very comfy bed and well-appointed bathroom. Finally, breakfast. A really delicious hotel breakfast from start to finish. At the Prieuré, they’ve brilliantly found the balance between providing both French and British staples without compromising on quality. All the breakfast staff and indeed all staff at the hotel were lovely. We recommend this hotel 💯 and will definitely go back when we’re next in Chamonix.
