I travel. I travel for work and I travel for leisure. I will stay in 50 hotels in a years time. This place is the best for your money. The pictures of Google are accurate. The amenities in your room are great. Bathrobes, fresh coffee, brand toiletry products, and they actually mop the floors. Rooms clean, I recommend this place and by the way they have delicious wine directly adjacent to your rooms. If I need to give a negative the location isn’t conducive to walking to downtown. I’m sure you have a map to see that. Best deal for the money thank you Chalet Inn

Google
This is a very cute and amazing motel. They do not allow pets as a heads up. The decor was fabulous 👌 The receptionist was very nice. It's a super easy check-in. The beds were comfortable, and they had down pillows. The shower in our room did leak a little, but that could have been a user error 🙃

Google
Cute & quite little motel. Nice boutique touches. Check in was a little late due to someone not opening the office on time. Good place for pets. Plenty of parking. Great price. Would stay again

Google
This was an amazing find. My friend of 50 years and I were visiting Glacier Park. Fortunately for us this place had a vacancy, reasonable price, and great location. The accomodations were super clean with thoughtful added touches..Eva thought of everything...comfort, toiletries, robes, hammock chairs, plants... Much care and thought invested in making this a reasonable, comfortable, cozy rest stop.

Google
Eva and her staff were very accommodating during my stay. I arrived and was allowed to check in early and customer service was excellent. The room was comfortable, clean and had everything I needed. I stayed again a week later and was greeted with the same courtesy and kindness. The location was excellent for me and my departure for a hiking trip. The downtown area is only a mile away and completely walkable. I would definitely recommend the Chalet Inn and would stay again! ~ Julia

My husband and I were very pleased with the Chalet Inn! It had been recently updated and is very well maintained. The staff was very accommodating to allow us to extend our stay another night. The rooms were clean, stocked well and comfortable. The location was great! Right off the Main Street in whitefish and about a mile from downtown Whitefish. We would definitely recommend!

Google
Such a cute and CLEAN little motel. It is obvious from all the special touches the owner wants to make this place special and homey. She succeeds. We’d actually stopped as a layover night but spent two nights as it was so comfortable. I’m a bit of a hotel snob only due to cleanliness. I always stress when on road. No need to stress here. CLEAN, cute, comfortable, and homey.

Google
Five stars for me. I’m sure someone could find something to their distaste here, as one could anywhere, but this had all that I needed: Affordable, a secure place for my bike, clean white sheets, hot shower, and hot coffee. The place is charming and has touches of local vernacular and the location is great. The owner Eva went above and beyond on a myriad of occasions to make sure I was comfortable and accommodated. Her offers of recovery supplements, epsom salts to draw a bath, and use of a foam roller were so above my expectations and beyond beneficial as I used her property for a rest and recovery day on a cross country cycling tour. Beyond her hospitality, Eva is both an outdoor enthusiast and passionate about the arts and so it was a pleasure to share conversation with her and learn about this special area on my solo trip. Thank you Eva, I will go out of my way to stay at the Chalet again!

Yelp
I stayed at the chalet motel for 2 days in room 22 it is a beautiful room and very quiet the front desk people are very sweet and don't bug you I would recommend it to anybody it's a great price

Yelp
We were checked in and went to our room (45). The door was already open, I didn't think anything about it. We finally got all our stuff up to the second floor and I went to shut the door but it would not latch. It was obvious the latch and striker plate were not aligned. I went to the office and was informed I didn't know what I was talking about. The lady (Eva, I think) went to the room and said a loose screw was the problem. I said I thought it was more than just a loose screw. It was the only lock, the dead bolt had been removed. I offered to attempt to fix it if she could get a screwdriver. She declined my offer. She made me feel belittled and talked down to. When she raised her voice talking to me I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere, then I said I couldn't leave my property in a room that didn't lock. She said, "fine I'll give you a refund". I objected to the refund because I had trouble finding this room ten days earlier. To make this long story shorter, she kicked two 78 year olds to the curb at 6pm. UPDATE 11/13/23 This lady (unknown by me) charged my "incidental" credit card for $497 when I checked in knowing that she had already received $520 from Hotels.com for the same two nights stay. She refunded the CC $497 when she kicked my wife and I out but two months later (11/13} she is still telling Hotels.com and the bank that I was a "no-show", therefore she still has $520 of my money. I would not recommend this place to anyone,

Yelp
This hotel is where we spent the last night of our trip and I regret booking it. The Chalet Inn put a sour end note on an otherwise fantastic time in Montana. It was $225+ for a subpar place. When checking in the owner was rude and presented as she was annoyed that we and other customers were there. When we got to the room the sink was dirty, there was only 1 towel in a room for 4 people, and there was no soap/body wash. The light in the room is a single bulb with a cord attached and no light shade. Sleeping was difficult as there was a constant humming sound. It may have been a washing machine close by as our beds also vibrated at some point during the night like a dryer does at the end of a cycle.

Yelp
We inquired if there was availability here. Owner was extremely rude to us and we looked at each other in disbelief. We were in desperate need of a place to stay as we were tired of looking. Everything was booked. No surprise that this place had plenty of vacancy. We should have walked away then. Never have we ever had such blatantly crappy treatment ever! Owner is not a true Montanan. Just someone who is from somewhere else and has zero knowledge of Montana kindness and consideration. A hard pass on this crappy place.

Yelp
I have never had a hotel make me cry before... good job to whoever checked me in yesterday. I seriously can't....the rudeness I received after my drive across the country.... next time someone's card declines try helping them out because they might have a boatload of money and their bank just might not know they are traveling ;) I also just checked into The Lodge and they gave me the most wonderful costumer service, I also called booking.com and will be filing a complaint with the BBB. My rebuttal to your reply- *Yes I asked for a discount my husband is a Marine it's quite normal to ask for a military discount. I was not drunk I am pregnant and tired from driving across the country. You judged me off my appearance and rudely made fun of me for my card being declined but moments later charged my card for a cancellation fee of $109 how did my card not work when you were able to charge a cancellation fee moments later. You are avoiding booking.com agents who keep trying to contact you because you stole my money but you can keep my money because my trip was saved by The Lodge, they were friendly, had an amazing restaurant, room service and cool waterfall pool! Your reply to this review proves a point, your customer service is really terrible. Also in your reply to my google review you went on to tell everyone I was drunk and rude for asking for a discount. Your reply to this review proves a point, your customer service is really terrible. Way to treat a Marine lady....

Yelp
This is a tucked away gem. Each has its own patio furniture and a hammock swing. The rooms are clean and quaint. They provide a homey feeling. Will stay here again.

Yelp
The Chalet owner was rude. First of all, we explained that we would be arriving early, and asked if we could drop our bags off. She said yes . We arrive at 7:45 and no one would answer the door. She was finally reached and said she didn't open until 9. No consistency. Incorrect hours on door. She said it was summer hours and it wasn't summer yet. In my world June 21st is summer. When we finally got in our room, we had no water. She blamed it in the city. Guess what? The plumber was there fixing the issue. It had been off all day. Eva doesn't take any blame for her actions. If I knew that this boutique hotel was really a motel.... I wouldn't have paid 508.00 for two nights. It also said there was breakfast. There was absolutely no breakfast. It said it has a pool and hot tub. Nope there wasn't any. Whom ever has control of the review settings only will show the positive fake ones instead of the truth. sets the settings to only positive reviews. Stay away from this Eva. She is a scammer.

Yelp
Great place to stay for price and location. Was half the price off other hotels but was more of the authentic experience. Owner run and small business supportive. Quaint and a great price in comparison to all other.

Yelp
I usually lean on chain motels like super 8, took a chance at a family owned operation. Chalet fit the bill and with great reviews, I took the chance. Without hesitation, I'll say this was one of decision I did not regret. I spent about a week up there and everyone at chalet motel greeted me with warm smile and helpful advice, when needed. Upon checking in Diana, whom I believe was an owner, initially provided much helpful basic information to navigate this new location. Chalet motel doesn't provide any sort of breakfast like the chains, but great coffee, clean rooms and friendly service more then makes up for that. Once again, and without hesitation, I highly recommend this place, I will choose Chalet motel again, and wish them the very best.

Yelp
Though 30 mins from Glacier NP we booked here given the limited reasonably priced choices in/near the park. Decent ratings actually got me to book a motel. Diane is super friendly and full of useful info. She helps make a good first impression. We had the king room over the office and though it is close to the road it was quiet. It helped that the AC worked well and also drowned out noise. The room is huge with a fireplace and full size fridge though the TV barely worked! Everything in this whole area is expensive and though the room was good for a motel it is overpriced. Just a quick comment on Whitefish. We found it to be charming (far from posh!) with many good restaurants. After being in expensive Banff & Jasper it was nice to go to some excellent, yet moderately priced restaurants. August 2014

Yelp
Wonderful rooms with comfy beds, refrigerators, TV's... everything you need. Facility was charming - updated, but at same time nostalgic. Eva, owner/operator, was SO nice and helpful. My wife had hurt her knee so Eva gave me a nice icepack/wrap for her to use. Eva bakes breads and cakes everyday for breakfast and snacks. GREAT breakfast options and good coffee/tea. I don't know why I would ever stay anywhere else in Whitefish... least expensive place we could find and it turned out to be wonderful.

Suzanne S.

Yelp
The gal that runs the motel is very helpful. They need to update the motel. It looks like the original 80's flooring and old door knobs and decor. The bathroom door doesn't lock, and the place smelled musty -maybe it was the air conditioner. Friendly helpful staff though.

Dale M.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in Whitefish and close to Glacier. It is like having Glacier in your back yard because the owner and staff make you feel like you are at home. Eva (the owner) is a wonderful person and her dog is friendly and loves a scratch behind the ears or a pat on the head. She helps you miss your dog less by being there. It is not a brand new hotel, but boy is it well maintained a clean! If you want a corporate-owned chain this is not your place. If you want to be welcomed like you are family please join Eva and her staff who will treat you like family.

Donns H.

Yelp
This was a pricey overnight at $300+ for a night of no sleep due to an air conditioner unit that sounded like a jet airplane. The door was jammed entering- that should have been a clue. Strong smell. Broken clock. Dead flowers in a vase. No shower soap. The big white dog was the only friendly part of this stay. I do not recommend, at least not room 46.

Yelp
We called hotel directly to book so it would be secured for my wife's birthday during labor day weekend. We clearly asked for the date. The owner, Heather, confirmed with her. My wife left a couple of voicemails confirming our arrival day and time. Not only did Heather not respond she booked us on the wrong day. When we were about to check in we called again to confirm where to pick up keys. Heather finally answered and said she had us booked for another day. At no point did Heather take accountability for her mistake. We were patient and polite with her the whole time even though my wife's birthday happens once a year and this was also the busiest weekend of the year at the park. We had to call over a dozen other places to secure a place. No exaggeration. That happened by luck as we were told all accommodations within two hours drive got booked. We got a room at another hotel that had had a cancellation 8 minutes before. Head to a place that cares about customers and takes responsibility. We would highly recommend Pine Lodge which did both.

Hanna C.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, really helped me out one night. Small town feel and very personable. The woman who answered the phone gave me step-by-step directions to get to the hotel when I was lost one night, and welcomed me by name upon arrival. They've got all the services I could need, and lowest rate that I could find around.

Saoirse O.

Yelp
Decent place for the money, as long as you don't pay inflated summer rates. We went in late September, so we didn't have to deal with every hotel being booked up. That is also the best time of year to visit the park, btw. The fall colors are beautiful and there are WAY fewer tourists. Our room was clean and spacious, but a little outdated. The lady at the front desk (the manager, I think) was super helpful and very friendly. She went out of her way to provide information on Glacier Park and was just a nice person to deal with. I got the room for a reasonable rate using an online travel site, but I definitely wouldn't pay triple digit prices for it. The rate I got appeared to be a huge discount at first, but when I saw the room I realized I paid about what I should have paid. Any more and I would've been a little cranky about it. Location is nice - close to Walmart and only about 30 minutes from GNP.

Yelp
Nice motel. Clean and very friendly staff. Stayed here for a week while my boys were at ice hockey camp in July. Towels and linens are new and fresh. Housekeeping very friendly and had rooms done by noon. I would definitely stay here again. Dyanne and Heather the managers were helpful to any questions I had. Simple bagel muffin and fruit breakfast available and coffee on brew at all business hours.

Cecilia K.

Yelp
Super cute little spot. It was very clean and nice. Great location and you have a nice view of the mountains. Would definitely recommend. The motel's dog was my favorite part! Super friendly and adorable!

Kurt H.

Yelp
Clean and affordable motel within biking distance (1.3 miles) to downtown Whitefish and beautiful parks nestled along the Whitefish River. Front desk staff was very polite and professional.

David C.

Yelp
Best Deal in Whitefish We found this place a few years ago in the summer when driving through Whitefish with no reservations. The Chalet Motel had a cancellation and there were no other rooms in town available. My family was very pleased with the location, cleanliness, and excellent customer service. We are not motel people, but now we have been choosing the Chalet Motel every time we one back to Whitefish. Save your money to blow on dinner. But do get a reservation here. David Bozeman

Yelp
Wonderful experience, all around! As a local and former motel owner, myself, I'm kinda picky! We needed a place to rest after my son had some minor surgery, and these folks went above and beyond in making our stay comfortable. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was clean, comfortable, cozy (wonderfully quiet!) and well appointed (fridge, microwave and coffee maker with delicious Coffee Traders coffee!) A very nice selection for continental breakfast in the lobby (and I love that they are working toward having very little throw away and single use items...there were real dishes and mugs!!) And all of this at a very reasonable price. This will definitely be our "go to" hotel when we stay in the Flathead Valley, from now on.

K G.

Yelp
Diane and Dale are excellent!! Diane gave great recommendations for places to eat and shop. She was more than accommodating when it came to our large truck and trailer. Diane was very knowledgeable about the local area and activities. Room was standard and totally acceptable, but personal touch from proprietors made it 5 . Views are great too!

Amanda P.

Yelp
Clean, older, simple. Website and highway sign both advertise indoor pool which is a main reason we chose this affordable hotel close to big mountain but we were told it was closed for cleaning. We saw no cleaning occurring. A complimentary Twinkie was a nice treat. No noise reduction between upstairs and downstairs was huge negative sleep inhibitor as it sounded like the ski team still wearing their ski boots were thumping and jumping around above us. Location is great. Having microwave and fridge is great.

Customer A.

Yelp
I never write reviews, but just want to make sure any future customers have correct expectations for booking here. Booked my reservation at this motel through a third party booking website. Immediately, I realized I had made a mistake on my reservation dates (yes, this room was listed as non-refundable). Though the third party travel service was very helpful, I do feel that this motel was completely unhelpful and displayed very poor customer service. I offered to either pay a high cancellation fee for my reservation and/or receive a credit for my future booking at this place....nothing. Two hours of my time later and $400 dollars down the drain for no stay. There was no allowance for altering reservations even within the same day! I am really disappointed that an owner in the hospitality business would treat customers this way in order to make a quick buck. I just want to warn other potential customers about their strict policies so they know service expectations before booking. I hope my dumb mistake helps others!

Charles B.

Yelp
Absolutely charming hotel. Can't exaggerate how nice it was to stay here! VERY clean; Extremely well-maintained. The front desk ladies (hats off to Diane) were extremely helpful, patient, knowledgeable and nice. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained; laundry facilities on premises were cheap and appreciated; mini-breakfast bar was a nice touch; and even the Chambermaids were friendly. You can't go wrong staying here. It had been a lonnnnng day, but my stay at the Chalet Motel rounded everything out perfectly. Good shopping (including a major grocery store) right across the street, too.

Shannon M.

Yelp
Diane stayed up past closing to help us get set up with a room after a long day on the road. The rooms are beautiful and the service is top notch. No breakfast although there are a ton of options in town. Terrific location and a great price as well!
