"Brussels Best Food Festival There are dozens of foodie festivals in Belgium throughout the year, but my favourite, by far, is the EAT! Brussels restaurant festival, in early autumn. Located in the vast Bois de la Cambre Park, you can sample your way around the Brussels restaurant scene, in one easy location. 25 Brussels restaurants have booths at the festival, where they offer a few small dishes (normally 3-5) in exchange for tokens. Each token = 1€ and can be bought individually or in packages, on-site or in advance on-line. Buying a package will give you a reduced rate and includes extra goodies like tickets for champagne, coffee, and ice cream. In addition to the restaurants, there are several bars, sponsor tents, and eight world regions, also offering food and drink tastings and sometimes products for sale. It’s the best way to discover new restaurants in the city, or sample some of the top offerings without a huge financial commitment. (Michelin-starred La Truffe Noir was on-site this year.) The place was warm, cozy and romantic—perfect for celebrating our 3rd anniversary. We initially thought the fondue wouldn’t be enough, but we ended up completely stuffed! The food was delicious, and they even refilled our bread, which was such a nice touch.

The experience was nice especially it’s my first time having the brunch. The food choice was great and the service was fast and friendly! Although I have some advices that I hope will be taken into account : - Cloth napkin instead of tissue (especially for the price of the brunch); - Real spoon for cafe and not the wooden stick we usually get at gas stations (especially that it’s « à la carte » and not offered on the brunch); - Put table cloth on all the tables in the 1st floor (not just for big tables but also for tables for two) so everyone feels special; - Always have the expected amount of food until 3pm because it’s not fair for those who booked the 1pm slot and don’t have the same amount of food as the one who booked the 10:30am slot; - Have a space dedicated for the cold food not only ont the 1st floor but also on the ground floor (cold cuts, breads, etc) and keep the hot food on the 1st floor so those who are on the ground floor doesn’t feel neglected.

We went to this wonderful place for my husband’s birthday and we had a wonderful dinner. Staff was friendly and warm. They took care of my special requests to make the evening special. Location and view is beautiful and would always love to go back.

Google
What a brunch!! Loads of choice, no compromise on quality and a stunning terrace, what more can you ask for. What is quite surprising is that the small ferry service is a euro per head… I would have thought that this was included in the price of the brunch. Nonetheless the short trip is unique and adds to the overall experience. Thanks Chalet Robinson!

Google
Great place, in an island in the biggest park of the city, and great food (super good the savoury waffles, the carpaccio and the vitello tonato). Good price for Brussels. Waiters are not super efficient, but if you are a relaxed person you would not care about that.

Atmosphere was great, service was great, the main course and dessert was delightful, only thing that could've been improved was the strength of the Irish coffee.. :-)

Nice restaurant in the middle of the lake. The food was very good. The burger was spicy for the children. Small portion of food.

Google
Very mixed opinion about this place since the food was well done, tasted really well. The view and scenery is something you cqnnot find that easily in Brussel. Small chill island in Ter Kamerenbos. But the service of the waiters was very underwhelming, some waiters were not allowed to take our orders, we never received our requests for mayonnaise with fries (you know we Belgians need mayonaise with the fries!) 😅 Had to wait a while for them to ask for our order. 1 Waiter could not even force to smile once after taking our order. The last waiter who brought us our dessert was sweet so i guess you need to be lucky with who is serving you. I loved the food and atmosphere. The only working point will be the service. Tip: dont forget to bring 1 euro for the boat ride per person, even if you have a table reserved.

Yelp
Island lunch in the middle of La Bois de Cambre park. Delicious meal of vegetable lasagna, hamburger and sweet potato frits. Relaxing music and beautiful ambience with lots of windows into the lake and woods.

Yelp
Love the location. I try and go every time I'm in Brussels. But check and make sure the are open.

Yelp
We spent a great evening drinking beer and relaxing outside. Watching the greece was entertaining! Lovely spot in the summer. I only wish that customers didn't have to pay the 1€ ferry fee. We are already spending money at the restaurant.

Yelp
Known for the meatballs and they are excellent. Much better than The Meatball Shop in NY then, that may not be saying much. Service as expected for a casual lunch in an one of a kind setting. The geese and ducks on the grounds are happy to assist in finishing your plates. Expectations weren't high and left with a 5 star review.

Yelp
5* setting, with inflated prices to match. 1 EUR pp. round-trip for the electric boat ride. Not very good choices on draft, I got a Duvel in the bottle. My wife got a 10 EUR G&T that was at least top-shelf gin and Fever Tree tonic, with a few juniper berries for good measure. Also, there are ducks who just come and wander through the patio. The friendly service is slow, even by European standards (even by Belgian standards).

Yelp
One of the highlights to my trip to Europe. Very much recommended. There is a very nice walk before you get to the restaurant, followed by a calming boat ride. Food was also pretty solid - especially coupled with a beer.

Yelp
Great place to eat some Belgian gastro-pub dishes. I come back to Belgium 2 weeks every couple years, so it was great to be able to enjoy this menu. I love the fact that the restaurant is on an island in the Bois de la Cambre. I had the Tartare italien and the vegan Mousse au chocolat. Both were equally delicious, flavorful and healthy.

Yelp
When I inquired, "Est-ce que vous parlez Anglais?" The nice host told us she didn't speak English, so I spoke with her in French. When I explained to my boyfriend that their brunch service was over but we could get drinks outside, she seemed to forget that she didn't speak English and very excitedly encouraged us to go outside. In perfect English.

Yelp
I have been to many establishments, and had high expectations from this restaurant unfortunately this past one has been a huge disappointment! They only speak french, the service was terrible and the waiter dropped sauce on my friend and didnt say anything. They were extremely arrogant...belgian hospitality once again disappointed me! When we entered they wouldnt help us because the kitchen wasnt open, so we couldnt place our order. The waiter couldnt make it clear to us why we wherent allowed to order and we speak 4 languages- not french though! This restaurant has an amazing location and view but the overal experience was awful. I would never advice anyone to come here, the view isnt that amazing to come and eat at this restaurant. The boat to come there also costs money

Yelp
Deserves 5 stars for the setting but 2 stars for the food and the service. One main course barely edible; another not at all as described by the waiter. Good place for coffee and dessert !

Yelp
Only place I make sure to go each times Im in Brussels. The food is delicious, the atmosphere and the little boat they take you on to reach the little îlot simply amazing. I have to had eating outside during spring and summer is so relaxing and you can enjoy the water view and the forest.

Yelp
Why just 4 stars for a place where I've been and gone back many, many times. Well because inside (despite a decor that works), it tends to be fairly noisy, whereas outside it is simple perfection. Set on an isand in the middle of a little lake in the center of the Bois de la Cambre, it's great way to escape the busy city. We usually bring visitors to this place, because just the little boat ride to get to the island is fun and makes the place a little special. Food is well executed, and very classic belgian brasserie cuisine (Filet américain, Boulet de Liège etc.... but also lighter dishes for those of you who like to watch the callorie intake :-) ) For desert they do they great classic Dame blanche (Vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, whip cream) in various versions: Dame rouge, dame noir, dame brune. My personal favorite.. Dame brune, where chocolate is replaced by caramel. On a sunny day, kids will love running around the island, and they might stumble upon a little rabbit or two.

Yelp
In winter on Sunday evenings you can enjoy a fabulous raclette in great surrounding. Great location I just love the little 'boat' ride across and the place is very nicely setup.
