CHALET TROPICAL Hotel & Restaurant-Pizzeria

Location is fabulous. The Signature Chalet could use some updating. Is aesthetically pleasant, but needs some improvement to make it more eco and small children safe. Keep in mind you’re surrounded by a lush garden, so do expect bugs. The chalet needs some more thorough cleaning as certain parts were not fully as clean as they should be. The shower pressure is low and the pitch is incorrect, so the water tends to pool and you have to push it to the drain with your feet. The garden pool with the cascade is nice and the sound is soothing, but not very safe if you have children as the rocks are a bit jagged and sharp. The pool in the restaurant is worse as there were many sharp stones on the ledge. They are pet friendly which is great. The hotel staff is amazing!!! The restaurant staff could be friendlier. This is one of the toughest reviews I’ve written, as we liked it very much, but it was not restful as 5 out of the 8 night we stayed, the music and partying at the chalets next to ours was unbearable even with earplugs. So keep that in mind. And there were roaches and other bugs regularly since you are surrounded by vegetation. Not a deal breaker for us since we understand jungle like setting means bugs. The noise level was no good. The aesthetics scream serenity, but no enforcement of their own house rules, made it not a peaceful escape. Minor tweaks could easily make this property a 5 stars.

We absolutely loved our stay at Chalet Tropical! From the moment we arrived, the service was beyond exceptional—worthy of a 5-star hotel rating. Every detail was handled with care and genuine warmth. Chalet #1 is incredibly spacious and creatively designed. It’s a feast for the senses—crafted with beautiful woodwork, unique rustic furniture, and thoughtful artistic touches in every corner. Just look at these pictures! Every space felt like a handcrafted masterpiece. We especially loved having our own private pool, complete with a peaceful waterfall. Even though the water was cold, we still enjoyed every moment—the sound alone was pure tropical serenity. Although we won’t be back ourselves, we’ve already shared this hidden gem with our friends and family so they too can enjoy this unforgettable experience. We were looking forward to trying the restaurant. It looked good and was not busy. We walked in, found a table, sat and waited, and waited, and waited. Employees saw us but never acknowledged us in any way. No nod, no F.U. nothing. It was like we were invisible. We were dressed nice, smelled good and everything. It was wierd. Seemed like the people working there were bored but didn't want bothered with restaurant guests. Why isn't this review showing on Google maps?

What a wonderful stay we just had with Sarah and her wonderful team at Chalet Tropical! From the warm greeting at the charming entrance by her bilingual staff Dallienne, to our adorable, comfortable and super clean tropical chalet bungalow. Every morning we were delighted by a stunning tropical breakfast delivered perfectly in time in front of our little retreat and beside a small waterfall/pool. |We really enjoyed the restaurant on site which in itself was also so charming and spacious with wonderful food from bbq to local fair and even a pizza/pasta Tikki-like outdoor bar run by Ernesto from Napoli Italy! Oh and the drinks! |Every day we walked out of the property and took in one or more of the many stunning beaches on the peninsula. We asked the staff to arrange private daily tours from waterfall hikes, to a boat trip to the island of Biccardi, a day spent on ATVs, with one of their excellent local bilingual guides Daniel, to some of the most spectacular rustic and fairly untouched beaches (eg Playa Rincon) we have ever seen, and also along the East side of the peninsula from the Boca del Diablo to the stunning secluded playa Fronton.|The local village of Los Galeras is easily accessible by foot and there are many great restaurant options to choose from.|All in all we had a smashing time and will most definitely be going back with family/friends. |Merci Sarah!!|We will most definitely be

We were so fortunate to have came across this incredible place and booked a week here as our base to explore Samana! A beautiful garden oasis, quiet and peaceful with a great restaurant on site and easily walkable to everything including the gorgeous La Playita beach. We booked the ‘green’ cabin and it was perfect for our family of four, with an upper treehouse-style loft bedroom (2 single beds) for the kids and main bedroom area downstairs, plus convenient kitchenette and lovely private pool and outdoor seating area. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

What a delightful place! We really enjoyed this unique hotel. The staff was absolutely amazing, even before our trip, the communication was amazing. Sarah was helpful arranging and scheduling a driver for us. Upon arrival , we were greeted warmly . The breakfasts were brought to our cottage and were tasty and we enjoyed the options offered. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a unique place. The location is only 15 minutes walking distance to the beach, with plenty of restaurants and small grocery stores on the way.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. From the moment that I booked communication was great. Aurora made sure to check with us on our arrival time. Her and Marta were great, they even booked some excursions and massages for us. Irene at the restaurant was super friendly(restaurant food is really good). The chalet was perfect,very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious and on time every morning. We will definitely recommend others to chalet tropical!

What a beautiful stay we had at the Chalet Tropical! Sarah and her crew strives to make this jungle like retreat a special home and oasis! The new restaurant and pool area is amazing. Breakfast at our waterfall was always a treat. Thanks to Sarah and all ,we love the Chalet Tropical!
