Chalk Coffee

The atmosphere inside Chalk was electric. A modern cafe with amazing coffee and even better food. It was busy inside but didn’t feel like the volume was overwhelming loud that I couldn’t hear the other person I was having a conversation with. I had a hot chocolate and it was honestly the best hot choc I’ve ever had. To eat I had the smashed avo and added bacon and poached eggs. The sourdough was lovely as well with it. Definitely recommend!

Coffee was nice, but I waited nearly ten minutes for a coffee after ordering and there wasn't a queue. It was also very small, not what you would expect for £3, not when the same drink is only £3.15 in costa a few doors along and is over double the size. I wouldn't not recommend, but I wouldnt recommend either.

Fantastic coffee and the breakfast muffin was incredible. Very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. I will definitely be back.

Very tasty food and coffee. Lots of different speciality coffees and teas as well, highly recommend. Could definitely do with a little more outdoor seating though.

Favourite coffee shop in Chester. Sad to have moved away from the city because I miss coming for a chill afternoon coffee here. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, cool vibes with the décor. You can't get phone signal in there as it's in the old cellar on the Rows but that's no fault of the coffee shop, just down to the old (beautiful) architecture of the place! The cakes are tasty and toilet is always clean with a baby changing facility. 👍

Lovely homemade cake. Larger than it looks from the outside and manages to be airy despite the shape of the space (which extends under the building). Delicious iced tea and teapots are generous. Will visit again.
