Chambers Oceanfront Cottages

Our family enjoyed a wonderful week at Hillside cottage. We arrived after dark and woke up to the most amazing panoramic view of Somes Sound and Sargent Mountain. The "quiet side" of Mt. Desert Island is a great choice and is easily accessible to Acadia's hiking, biking, and carriage roads and related activities. Paul and Ashlee are super hosts with quick response times and answers to all our questions. The Hillside cottage was clean and well stocked for meal preparations and the indoor fireplace was a hit for everyone. Chambers Oceanfront Cottages is definitely a fire star experience.

Our family had the most wonderful time together at Stone Bluff. This was our first time staying here and really hoping to be back someday. I think any of their cottages would be just as amazing. We arrived when it was dark but the signage made it easy to find and when we woke up in the morning we were in awe at the beautiful view! We probably didn't have to hike up mountains to enjoy a view as good as this. But exploring the many hikes in Acadia as well as the towns were so fun. The beds were very comfortable and liked having comfortable couches to relax in after hiking all day. It had everything we needed. Paul really thought of all the details. Always responsive and so kind. Thank you for the opportunity to stay here making special family memories we will always treasure.

We just stayed at Chambers Oceanfront Cottages for the second time and absolutely loved it. It is our favorite place to stay on Mt. Desert Island. We love being on the quiet side, close to so many great hikes and Southwest Harbor. The setting is honestly perfect. We enjoyed pizza from Little Notch Bakery (twice!) while overlooking the gorgeous view of the sound. Also cooked great meals in the lovely kitchen. It had all the pots and pans we needed. Such a wonderful trip. Hiking, kayaking, rock climbing. I only wish we could have stayed for 2 weeks!!

We had a wonderful time at Chambers Cottages. The Seabreeze cottage was clean, provided everything including washer and dryer, and perfect. The view of the sound, the fresh lobsters from Paul, the myriad of ocean and mountain trails; all want us coming back for more. Highly Recommend. Great Hosts!

Thank you for a perfect week in Sounderosa Cottage overlooking Somes Sound...our cottage in the woods was cozy and comfortable with all the amenities we needed, especially the view! We especially enjoyed the ability to purchase the fresh lobster catch and creating a fantastic meal overlooking the soft sunset waters at days end, the sounds of the loons,  eagles, trees just on the edge of turning... ..beautiful! Thank you for such a peaceful place ... a time we hope to enjoy again!

We stayed in Hillside Cottage the last week of June and that view is EVERYTHING. Completely fabulous- you could just stay at the house and look at the view all day. What a gift. You can even see Southwest harbor from the deck/windows. We used both heat and AC- as the weather was just that variable...so happy to have access to both. The beds were very comfortable, and it was very quiet. About 20 minutes away from Acadia, and we were visited frequently by the resident deer- including two newborns. The dock was fun to walk to, for a different view. The water was waaaay too cold to swim in, but we tried! Got our toes in. That's it. The driveway was a bit rough/ bumpy- even at 5 mph, but with a view like that- who cares?

What a great time we had staying at Hillside Cottage a few weeks ago. Loved the homey cottage feel and central location of Chambers Cottages. Paul and Ashlee were fabulous hosts, making sure that we enjoyed our stay and quickly taking care of a few very minor issues. We will definitely be back!

Amazing views from Topside Cottage! This is our first time in Maine. Pleasantly surprised by the rental. Cottage is spacious, clean, and well equipped. It has a home away from home feel. There are three docks on property to fish, swim, or launch from. Very quiet and serene. Nearby markets and lobster roll stands. Wildlife abounds.

We our just wrapping up our yearly vacation, and saying goodbye to our cottage, Soundarosa, is never easy. This year was exceptional. We had an entire week of gorgeous weather. Chambers Oceanfront Cottages has to be the best value on Mt. Desert Island! Paul and Ashlee have to be the most gracious hosts on the planet. We discovered new things this year, new restaurants, new trails, and new experiences. Me and Nancy always discuss plans for extending our stay the following year. So much serenity here, which makes leaving very difficult. Thanks Paul and Ashlee for a very memorable vacation!

Our 5th consecutive summer stay at Chambers Oceanfront Cottages, and we remain impressed. Owners Paul & Ashlee go out of their way to make sure our stays are upmost enjoyable. Cottages are improved every year with AC, new windows, grills, etc. Paul's lobsters are always freshly delicious & renters get his live lobsters at a very reasonable price over local lobster pounds. (We splurged & bought 21 lobsters during our two week stay this time). The views are spectacular, especially the incredible sunrises & sunsets. They even have moorings for our 17' boat, & three convenient docks (w/row boats available). Real wood fire place (all the firewood & kindling you need). Nothing like being on the ocean, and the scenery & tranquility of Somes Sound & the hospitality are top notch.

Wow, great cottages for any size adventure you want to have. The cottage we had was perfect for us, not getting much privacy but you can go for a stroll to the dock or hang on the porch. We had some great hikes and lucked out on the weather in this pre-'season' trip. The Chambers family checked in and could offer lobsters and fishing advice, can't ask for much more and I'd bet if I did ask for more they could provide.

We are currently staying here, in "Crow's Nest", and are enjoying it thoroughly! The proximity to everything on Mt. Desert Island is great. The cottage is perfect and has a fantastic view.

Beautiful location and views. The cottages are comfortable, well equipped and clean as as a whistle! We are very satisfied repeat customers.

Just about to complete two weeks here in their Sounderosa cottage. Well equipped for two couples or a family. We were joined by a different couple for each of the weeks and everyone was impressed and pleased. Great views of the Sound, stars and meteors at night, and convenient to everything local. Paul is generous with his time, taking us out on his lobster boat twice to learn about/observe lobster fishing and then selling us lobster at an on-the-dock price.

We just returned from a week at the Sea Breeze cottage, and it was a wonderful experience. The cottage was clean, comfortable, well decorated, and had everything we needed right down to linens, towels and a well equipped kitchen (including all supplies needed to cook our own lobsters). Paul and Ashley were incredibly welcoming and attentive (don't miss the chance to by some lobsters right from Paul's dock) and bent over backwards to make sure that we had a great trip. We had some special requests to help us stay with a young toddler, and they went well above and beyond to accommodate. The views of the sound are breathtaking, and the location is convenient to Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor. Highly recommended and we will be back!

The view from Crows Nest is spectacular. We've enjoyed watching the lobstermen/women checking their catch. The cottage is beautifully stocked and the brick grill on the rocks out front beyond the spacious deck is wonderful. We always love a water view and the mountains beyond are really wonderful, too. The owners are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
