I had a really friendly and easy experience while staying here. Easy because the service was really personalized - everything from finding out where to park my car to payment was done on my schedule and without the least bit of hassle. The owners were friendly and generous people assisting me with a printing request and even willing to show me their other property closer to the cathedral.
The room was recently redone with very fine taste - the bed was THE BEST. I had a cute little window that overlooked a park and felt at times like I was in Amelie set in Clermont Ferrand. I loved staying in the center of the town.
I highly recommended 5 chambres en ville in its own right, and do declare it to be a million times better than an Airbnb or a hotel. Yes, one million times!

We quite enjoyed our one night stay here- the hosts are very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the room was charming and clean. The only quirk is that there was no shower in our room- just a bath. But that was fine, just different. All in all, a great choice for your stay in Clermont-Ferrand. A short walk to lots of restaurants and cafes in the old city. Parking is available close by on the streets or in a lot a couple of blocks away (our street parking was free overnight).

A warm welcome on arrival in Clermont-Ferrand, with plenty of great recommendations for places to visit and eat. I was on business, and although the room (top floor, via steep-ish stairs, bath, no shower) would have been great for a leisure stay, I found it quiet and well-connected to wi-fi for work, too. Breakfast was fine and the location ideal for exploring the city.

The hotel is located near the historic town in a wonderfully renovated old building. We had a room under the roof with air-conditioning, a bath in the room and a toilet. It was absolutely beautiful! We skept very well. Breakfast was included and very nice. The owner was there as well and it was a very nice atmosphere. ||We can highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again for sure.

Location excellent for those not driving. Right in the centre of town. Everything walkable, including the station. Parking in the centre could be a problem. ||||Room was modern, very clean and comfortable with everything you could need. A lovely big rain head shower. Only thing was that there was very little space in either the shower room (outside of the shower) or in the toilet. Room overlooked an open space. Extremely quiet at night. Bed extremely comfortable.||||A simple but very fresh breakfast was provided. Croissants, bread, juice, fresh coffee/tea/chocolate. Yoghurts, cereal and fresh fruit available. Lovely.||||The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful with excellent local knowledge.||||If we were in Clermont-Ferrand again, we would certainly go back.

We stayed one night at 5 Chambres on our way from Paris to Provence. 5 Chambres is in the center city close to restaurants and sites. We were concerned about parking but when we arrived, our host had a place reserved by parking his car in it until we arrived. The location is great for visiting the city center. It is very quiet in the evening. The hosts were very helpful in all respects. The rooms are not large but met our needs.

Right in the middle of Clermont-Ferrand this small chambres d’hote has six (yes, I know it only says five) well equipped and nicely furnished rooms, so there are enough power sockets, plenty of lights including bedside lights on both sides of the bed, decent bedding and seating, everything you need for a short stay. Reasonable continental breakfast is provided along with a capsule coffee machine you can use ate your leisure. It is in the middle of town so parking must be paid for but there is a large car park a short walk away. The owners have a small garage available on request. There are several reasonable restaurants within easy walking distance.

This is a great idea, a step up from a hostel (but just barely). Owners are lovely and quite accommodating, but this is a place for younger folk. Lugging suitcases upstairs would have been a problem -- luckily we had a safe place to park thanks to the owner and were able to leave the big stuff in the car and only carry up an overnight bag. Pretty stripped down, but everything was clean and comfy and there was a/c which was a blessing in killer hot weather.
