Au Presbytère de Saigneville (Saigneville, Hauts-de-France) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Take your pick at Le Presbytère, a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel in the village of Saigneville in northern France. You can sleep in a single bed in the former quarters of a priest, or you can spend the night in a vibrantly painted wooden trailer — what the owners refer to as a roulotte gitane, or gypsy caravan — parked in the garden. The hotel is built around a restored presbytery, though most accommodations are housed in a modern annex where cozy, simply outfitted guest rooms have whitewashed walls, vaulted ceilings, and pale wood furnishings. The gypsy caravans, of course, are another thing entirely: lined with wood paneling and cheerfully decorated with colorful textiles and artwork, each is large enough for a double bed and a private bathroom. One has a small kitchen, ideal for preparing a charcuterie board and opening a bottle of wine to enjoy beneath the shade of a Japanese cherry tree." - Tablet Hotels

We had high expectations due to so many good reviews, and it managed to exceed these expectations. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, there is a superbly calm relaxing atmosphere. Rooms are extremely comfortable and stylish. The caravans an absolute treat. And the food is as good as we've had in a long time in France. And as for the beer.... Great for an overnight stop before or after the Channel crossing, but would be a fab destination in it's own right. Wished we'd had longer.

Amazing welcome from Vanessa & Jöel to their fabulous & truly unique ‘place to stay’. ||We felt thoroughly ‘at home’ from the moment we arrived. Our private room was cosy & really special & after climbing a little staircase we discovered our bedroom with an apart shower room.. we had the possibility to make our own tea / coffee & a small table & chairs to sit & enjoy a quiet moment . ||We ate a marvellous dinner lovingly prepared by Jöel who is a fantastic chef & served by Venessa both of them couldn’t have more caring & attentive, Fabulous hosts .x ||Breakfast was served the following morning in the dining room & there were options to upgrade from the basic but no less enjoyable standard continental choice to their speciality breakfasts . ||I would have loved to stay longer here & hope to return very soon .. Saigneville is a small, quiet, attractive village, convenient for St Valery, the lower Somme valley and the A28 / A16 junction. There are peaceful lanes to stroll (or cycle) along, and the area around the Somme canal, with its tow paths, is a rural delight.||||The owners of Le Presbytere were very welcoming, and greeted us in excellent English. The room was well-furnished, clean, and a good size. A kettle and supply of teabags and coffee was a nice touch. For breakfast, there was an impressive array of fresh and high quality bread, croissants and brioche, besides the usual hot drinks, orange juice and yoghurt.||||All in all, a very enjoyable and convenient break on our way up the autoroute towards Calais

Wow! We enjoyed our stay here so much. The Presbitary is located in a small street in an even smaller village 😊 We arrived early but were welcomed warmly and the owners allowed us to deposit our bags in our room before check in that evening. In the room (very spacious) you can find an espresso machine and tea selection. It was very clean. The whole place feels authentic as some of the original woodwork and windows etc have been kept and added into the decor. The included breakfast was simple but nice (couques and baguettes with local butter and tasty local jams as well as tea, coffee, juice, hot chocolate). The paid breakfast was also very tasty (homemade yoghurt with homemade jam, homemade smoothie, fresh granola and other tasty treats, fruit,...) The owners are absolutely lovely and jeep the place in ship shape, are always available for a chat or info about the area. They were of course respecful of the new covid rules and we felt at home. Overall a great experience!

We visited a few times some years ago, and the Presbytère has lost nothing of its charm. We stayed for two nights, and found as we had remembered that the bedrooms are comfortable and well-equipped - no television, but we counted that as a plus! The price for a double room is very reasonable. The table d'hôte, cooked by Franck, was delicious and very good value. Franck and Corinne are charming and helpful hosts and offer a warm welcome, matched by their dog, Brad Pitt! The village is quiet, but only a short drive away from the coast - Le Crotoy; St Valery, Marquenterre etc. The region offers a variety of activities - well worth a visit.

We recently stayed one night with Franck and Corinne and had the best food and conversation of our two weeks in France & Belgium. They were exceptional hosts, especially to our eight year old and Franck is an awesome chef. Though a bit difficult to find, it is more than worth the effort. The accommodations are very clean, warm, tidy and welcoming.

We stayed here 2 nights in August and we had a great time! Sophie, Antoine and their lovely children were very welcome! ||The gite is located in a small and quiet village Saigneville close to a little square with the main church. In the village there is not a lot to do except a nice restaurant next door. To visit other towns and tourist attractions you will need a car or a long bike ride.

We stayed in the gypsy caravan and loved it! I was a bit reticent at first thinking it would be too cramped but after our two night stay it seemed bigger than when we arrived! The space is well designed. The only thing important to note is that the person sleeping next to the wall can't get out without disturbing the other person and the bed may not be long enough for tall people. My husband is 5'10 and I am 5'7" and we were fine. Our hosts were super in all respects and the grounds were well kept and landscaped. We will keep this address!
