Chan Myae Guesthouse

I would stay here again. I arrived in the middle of the night and check-in was no problem. My room (private with shared bathroom) was basic but clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. Showers were rough looking but had hot water. Nice staff. Good breakfast. Bad coffee. This definitely is a guest house not a hostel. There is no common hang out area so if you are looking to meet other backpackers, maybe look elsewhere. But if you just want an inexpensive place to stay that is walking distance to everything, this is a good option. Yes, there are a lot of stairs.

Stayed at Chan Myae for 2 nights. Booked a private single with en suite. They gave me a double which was nice. |The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Decent shower with hot water. It was a wet room but that was ok. |Staff are very friendly and helpful. Booked me a taxi to get to the airport and let me leave my bag after check out so I didn’t have to carry it around. |The street is a bit noisy during the day but no noise at night. |Breakfast was ok and did the trick. Decent coffee. |They offer a free safe box at reception for your valuables as well. |WiFi was fast enough to watch Netflix. |They sell beer in reception at local rates. |Would definitely stay here again.

Booked the Chan Myae Guesthouse through Hotels.com. Basic room with shared bath. Comfortable bed, clean room, air-con worked well, plenty of extra electrical outlets to charge phone and tablet. Shared bath was well maintained, plenty of hot water. Nice Breakfast. Staff at the front desk were exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent adivce on nearby sights, restaurants and public transportation. They went above and beyond the call, arranged for airport transportation and printed my Air Asia boarding passes the evening before I left. Great location in walking distance of many major landmarks, restaurants and shops.

We had a little room with bunk bed. Aircon was ok but atleast there was something to cool. Wifi works excellent. Reasonable breakfast. Toilet and shower were good, soap and shampoo included. Nice and restful view at night from balcony. Soundproof was bad, you can easily hear a normal speaking from the room to an other.

Good cheap option in central location. Rooms are clean, even if decor is a bit suspect... Be warned you have to climb a few flights of stairs to reach the reception. If carrying heavy bags may be worth asking reception for some help. We stayed in twin room with balcony overlooking the street below. Would recommend booking this if available.

This guesthouse has many rooms and has a very good location in Yangon. It takes about 1h by taxi (8000 khat, hotel books it for you On request) and mani downtown atteactions walkable.|The guesthouse is On the 4th till 8th floor. The many staff members help you with your luggage On the stairs.|Staff is very friendly, helpfull and speaks good english. They help out easily with your needs.|Breakfast is included. It’s basic, but the taste was superb. WiFi is really good for Myanmar, you could even watch Netflix!|I saw some double rooms and they are nice, with balcony and space. I slept in a single and that is below par. It is clean and with toilet, warm water, fridge, airco but without a window, just one TL lamp. But the one star lost is because of the noice. I heard everyone and everything indoors during the night. From 6am on, even ear plugs give up. They ask a bit too much for this room (14)||This is a great spot, but avoid the cheapest rooms.

We were lucky to get the front room that comes with AC and big windows overlooking the quiet street. The bathrooms are pristine clean and the staff is very friendly and informative, happy to help out. Location is great too, within walking distance to all major sights in the downtown and good public transport options to key train and bus stations. Totally recommended!

We found this guesthouse online and it was exactly what we thought it would be: charming, quiet, good location, sweet staff. The first room they put us in had a few ants in the room, but our room was quickly changed and we had no problems after that. We left early one morning and they even gave us snacks for the road. We would stay there again.
