The location is amazing, but the service is poor. The milk for coffee had expired. And it's not enough room for eight poeple.

Our family of 5 adults and 2 children stayed here for two nights in chalet #12. Considering we paid $700 a night we had reasonable expectations that it would be an accommodation that was nicely appointed with good quality furnishings and comfortable beds. And we certainly expected it to be CLEAN. ||Our expectations were shattered when we arrived. Several things were apparent immediately. In the photos on Airbnb it showed a large dining table and chairs which were not there. There was a counter in the kitchenette area with wooden bar stools. Certainly not suitable for our family. ||On further inspection we realized there were not 3 double beds in the loft area, rather a queen and two singles. This did not work for us either. My adult daughter had to sleep on a folding cot under the stairs!! To say she was very uncomfortable would be an understatement. ||In fact none of us slept well as the mattresses were poor and quite uncomfortable. We all woke up with sore backs. If there’s one thing accommodation at that price point should provide, it’s good beds with quality mattresses. ||The sheets were mismatched and not good quality either. The duvet in the loft bedroom didn’t cover the whole bed. ||The furnishings in the living room were not good quality. The shabby couch had seen better days and was certainly not leather as depicted in the photos. There was only one reading/task light in the living room and one end table. The television was very small and cheap. There is no DVD player. ||In the bedroom the chest of drawers was broken and the drawers fell out when you opened them. There was something spilled on the carpet in front of the night table. ||In the upstairs loft one of the bedside lamps was broken. The bedside table had something sticky on it. ||The bathrooms had stained, threadbare facecloths that were more suited to cleaning rags than wash cloths. The towels were old, thin and worn out. In the main bathroom the baseboard drywall was crumbling and the door stop was hanging loose (see photo). |The heat registers in bathrooms were covered in dust and hair. ||The carpet everywhere was badly in need of a good steam cleaning. We found several items on the floor (a wristwatch, several kids’ toys) indicating that they had not vacuumed, swept or mopped thoroughly. There was a layer of dust on the surface the tv sat on. The front windows were dirty and smeared. The window blinds on the front door were dirty and broken. ||In the kitchen the fridge was dirty and needed to be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned (see photos). The crisper bins hadn’t even been wiped out. The stove and hood fan were dirty, the toaster was filthy with encrusted cheese on it. When we took the “clean” dishes out of the dishwasher they had encrusted food stuck to them. Clearly the folks before us didn’t pre-clean the pots and pans before placing them in the DW. We realized that the dishwasher didn’t work properly. The cabinets were terrible, dirty inside and a few old pots and pans and other items were shoved inside, not in any sort of order. The dishes, glassware and cutlery were a mismatched hodgepodge that were shoved into the upper cabinets in a very disorganized way. The kitchen was poorly equipped, no proper cutting board, cheap plastic utensils. One of the upper cabinets was supported with a 2X4 piece of lumber! ||The whole affair was dreadful and I felt like crying because I was the one who’d made the reservation for our family getaway. ||Prior to our arrival our hosts had sent us an email advising us that firewood for the fire pit was not provided and suggesting that we bring our own from Alberta as we may not be able to purchase any once there. It is prohibited to bring firewood into British Columbia from another province and for very good reason. The hosts should know better. ||We are still in shock that we paid $700 A NIGHT for this place. I sent feedback to the owners Tina and Steve who are apparently, inexplicably, “super hosts” and they responded by saying they were giving us a 5 star rating on Airbnb and asking us to do likewise. I almost laughed out loud. ||I would strongly advise anyone who is thinking of staying here to think twice! ||||

This is a set of privately owned chalets located a short distance off the Trans Canada highway. It is very private and peaceful and has a stunning view of the mountains. We stayed in cabin #2 which was spacious, well-maintained and clean. We totally enjoyed our stay there and hope to visit again. The Kootenay river is a few minutes walk from the Chalets and is a lovely place too. The chalets are easily accessible from nearby attractions like Lake Louise, Emerald Lake and Lake Moraine.

Our family of 5 adults and 2 children stayed here in chalet #12 December 29-31, 2023. We were shocked at the condition of this chalet. First of all, the photos we looked at online were not accurate at all. There was no dining table and chairs as shown in the photos. Just a counter with wooden stools. The bed configuration in the loft was also not the same as shown in online photos. Instead of 3 double beds there was a queen and 2 singles. Our adult daughter slept on a fold-out cot under the stairs which was very uncomfortable. The sofa was shabby and worn, not leather as shown in the photos. The unit was very dirty as our photos clearly show. The front windows were smeared and dirty. The window blinds on the door were broken and dirty. The floors had not been properly cleaned as evidenced by the items we found in corners and under tables. The fridge was dirty and needed to be disassembled and cleaned with bleach. The crisper bins had not even been wiped out. The stove and hood fan were dirty. The cupboards were dirty inside and out and dishes, pots and pans were mismatched and shoved into them in a very disorganized manner. The kitchen was very poorly appointed. One of the upper kitchen cabinets was held up by a 2X4 piece of lumber. The bathroom on the main floor had crumbling drywall at the base with a door stop that was just hanging loose. The towels were thin and worn. The facecloths were stained. The heat registers had hair and dust on them. The main floor bedroom had something spilled on the carpet in front of the nightstand. The sheets were mismatched. All the mattresses were uncomfortable. The loft bedroom had one broken bedside lamp and the nightstand was covered with something sticky. Indeed the whole chalet was run down and required maintenance, repairs and cleaning. Before we arrived the hosts sent an email stating they did not provide firewood for the outdoor fire pit and suggested we bring our own from Alberta as it might not be possible to purchase any on site. It is prohibited by law to bring firewood into British Columbia from other provinces. The owners should know this. We provided feedback to the host/owners and they responded by telling us they were giving us 5 stars and asked us to reciprocate by giving them 5 stars. We were asked if we would speak to the management team about our review and my husband spoke to two different people, and gave them our honest feedback, outlining all the issues we had with the unit. They told him that they planned to perform the necessary repairs and maintenance as well as ensure that the unit was properly cleaned. We were surprised and shocked to receive an email from Airbnb advising us that our review had been removed because it did not contain enough relevant information to help the Airbnb community make informed decisions about booking. On the contrary, it was very informative and thorough and absolutely factual. I also realize that another one-star review I read on their site has also been removed. If it is Airbnb’s policy to remove all negative reviews then they are doing their community members a disservice and they lack credibility. The above is our honest and factual review, with photos, of chalet #12 at Chancellor Peaks Resort.

Our second stay here and will come back again. Beautiful cabin in the woods with a phenomenal view of the mountains and an outdoor fire pit to spend the evening after some great hikes. There is nothing but great things to say about the chalet and location.

We had a great time staying here. The cabin was spacious and had almost everything we needed. ||We got so much more for our money here than when we stayed somewhere else nearer Banff a few days later and we really wish we just stayed here for longer! ||The Wi-Fi was great also which was a big bonus for us. ||There are nice restaurants and shops near Golden which is not too far away. It's a lot less touristy here also. ||We would definitely stay here again and hoepfully for longer too.

We had the pleasure of staying in Chalet 16, located in the far corner of the block. The large windows provide ample, natural lighting with stunning views of the surrounding forest and mountainscape. The natural logs throughout the interior really immerse you in this rustic cabin; while having the modern conveniences you would expect in your own home. Wifi is fast, kitchen well stocked, the fireplace is inviting, the beds are comfortable, and in the cold of January winter, the general ambiance wraps around you like a warm blanket.

Yelp
CPC - a quiet, idyllic location in Yoho National Park, at the foot of the Canadian Rockies. The silence is punctuated by occasional train horns, and as you get closer to the running waters, the soft flow of Kicking Horse River. The view outside the front door of our chalet was directly to the mountain. The location is ideal - close enough to Banff and the Banff National Park, but also accessible to Golden and Rogers Pass. The site is well cared for, and our nightly s'mores via the fire pit was quite enjoyable. While we purchased our firewood from the IGA, you can get some at the Chalets from one of the caretakers, whose name is on each unit (albeit more expensive).

Yelp
Clean, quiet, well-stocked. Natasha was helpful and friendly. Easy access to Highway 1. Beds very comfortable. Highly recommend this to others.
