We were passing through Montgomery and reading restaurant reviews for soul food and bbq. Chandlers kept coming up. The place was super busy. They had such a great rhythm going on with the orders, the kitchen, the phone and the pick ups. They are primarily take out but they do have a dining area. They knew these two northerners were first timers. Another customer told me she travels out of her way to get their catfish. Well she was right! The catfish was incredible and we tried all the sides. This is a great causal spot for lunch. I ordered the catfish which was divine. I also had a slice of Red Velvet cake which was so closed to being like my moms. I loved it..my only draw backs were the sweet tea, which i was told was a lemon tea and I didn't like the potato salad. However the owner was very gracious and switched out my items..I Loved the atmosphere ❤️

You were rich, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned — I was powerless to resist. I thought I came for dinner with the West Florida Roller Derby crew, but what I really found was love at first bite. That burger? Juicy. Toasted bun whispering sweet nothings. The mac and cheese? Comforting like an old friend who always knows when to show up. And those collard greens — bold, soulful, with just the right kick — they might’ve actually winked at me. If you’re reading this, Chan’s, just know you’ve ruined me for all other burgers. The place is SPOTLESSLY CLEAN; with a rating of 98%!!!....The owners and the staff were most kind and friendly. The bbq'd, smoked chicken came out smoking, tender to falling off the bone. My sides were mac-n-cheese, baked beans, snd a extra side order og green beans. All the food was piping hot, which is seldom the case in most all restaurants. This is surely a food outlet that rates BEYOND 5-XSTARS!!.

Easy to see why this place is always busy! The service was immaculate, and the food is amazing! I will definitely be a regular here, glad I made this visit!! 👏 👏 👏

I am so very glad we decided to stop at Chandler's on our way back to Baldwin County. I highly suggest you going on a Saturday, since that is the only day they have collards. The collards were some of the best I have ever had!! The ribs were fantastic and the burger was enough for 2. Do NOT sleep on the baked beans either or the pound cake!! We will DEFINITELY be back any time we are up that way. Thank you for great food and thank you for being so welcoming!!

I was returning home (North Alabama) from a work conference (South Alabama) and had a craving for some Fried Catfish. I located this spot through the social media, which had commendable reviews. I decided to give a try. My meal was perfection. Served hot and fresh. The catfish was one of the best tasting fried catfish that I've had. Taste + Texture was 10 out of 10 - and the soft, sliced bread that was served with it complemented it so well. I didn't even have to tell them to fry it crispy. Mac n Cheese was really good, as well as the green beans. Not overly seasoned or cooked. The atmosphere and service was very warm here. Although we experience a little delay receiving our food, the good food, service and hospitality made up for the small issue. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the dining area and bathrooms during my visit. I will definitely return when in the area.

Ordered takeout. The food was delicious and the portions generous. Ordered 2 Rib Plates w/Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans 1 Rib Plate w/Mac & Cheese and Green Beans They all came with a drink, 2 slices of bread, utensils, and napkins. Grateful for the care in making sure we had all we needed. We definitely recommend.

My family and I stopped here while looking for a place to quickly get a lunch in. We all ordered different things like burgers, chicken sandwiches, etc. The service was great and helpful. The food was pretty solid, but not mind blowing or anything. The dined inside and there is several seating options. The restrooms were maintained well. Overall: recommend if you are looking for a nice quick lunch option!

The crinkle cut fries are seasoned perfectly and have the right amount of crunch. The Mac and cheese is savory. It definitely has more than the standard cheddar cheese. The catfish filets are flaky, well breaded, seasoned and cooked to perfection. They are crunchy and light. The lemonade is sweet but not too sweet. They come with tartar sauce and hot sauce on the side. Honestly the hot sauce is all you need. Highly recommend.

If you do not stop at this restaurant you are missing not only some FANTASTIC bbq, you are also missing amazing service! Go on Saturdays and get the collards!!

Great food. Bring cash. Had the pulled pork with Cole Slaw. Pork wasn't dry and there was enough meat for two sandwiches.

$2.00 card fee was a deal killer for me. That is a 18% hike on the meal. No Bueno! The food was good, though.

I'm glad we went out of our way to go to Chandler's BBQ! The ribs and pulled pork were amazing! We also enjoyed baked beans and Mac-n-cheese. We got there too late for the baked chickens. They had already sold out for the day. We will have to come back to try that when we come back. They had very friendly service and definitely Worth the stop!!

The owner was beyond courteous and the portions were very generous. The ribs, pork, and collard greens were fantastic. However the star of the show was the recommended Chan Burger. I don't think I've eaten a bigger burger in my life, and it was dressed perfectly. Atmosphere was friendly and just the perfect place to go when you don't want a chain. We were also proud to support a former UPSer!

I had my first experience at Chandler's Smokehouse Grill, today, Friday, September 20, 2024. I ordered grilled shrimp no salt. When I opened my container as I was sitting in the parking lot, I saw grilled bell peppers and onions. I initially said, "Oh No," I hope it isn't salty but as I ate each bite, I said, "Oh my God, this is so good." I had never had grilled shrimp sautéed in bell peppers, onions, and gravy because I eat like a plain Jane. However, Chandelier's won me over. Today was my first time and I had quite an impeccable experience. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The food tasted delicious. I had the ribs, Mac n Cheese, potato salad, and cake. Everything was delicious, the portions were decent that I had food to go. The ambiance was nice and the seating was comfortable unlike most places. I'll definitely be going back soon and highly recommend this place.

fries are the best part of the food in my opinion, but I have the taste buds of a 2 year old. the Mac n cheese is a bit bland, you usually have to manually put cheese in it but it's not awful. the burgers are huge, in a good way. I love big burgers. Barbecue chicken just tastes like the average barbecue chicken, I reccemond this place if you have adventurous taste buds

We were driving from the coast to Birmingham and googled best bbq. This came up. It was right off the 331. This is the real deal. We ordered bbq ribs, fried catfish and fried fish sandwich. Good portions and delish! They come with bread. We had sides of green beans that after taking one bite all said "yum!" We also had coleslaw and potato salad which were good. One of us used to have a bbq restaurant and he loved these ribs! The desserts looked good but sadly we were full. Owner was so nice when sis in law said she was sad she didn't get to taste the ribs, he sent her with some for the car ride!

The food here is top notch. The owner takes pride in his food and the establishment. The Chan burger is huge and absolutely delicious. His ribs are tender and have a great smoky flavor complimented with a delicious sauce. This homegrown restaurant needs to be featured somewhere because this is a gem of an eatery.

Chandler's is getting going. It looked like the majority of customers were taking everything to go. There are a few tables. Everyone was very polite and helpful. The food was awesome. I got a pulled pork BBQ sandwich, fries, and a drink for $11. Best pulled pork I have had in a long time.
