Visited Chandravilas today, and it truly lives up to its reputation as one of Ahmedabad’s oldest and most iconic eateries. The fafda–jalebi here is easily one of the best I’ve tried in the city. The fafda was incredibly crisp, fresh, and full of flavor, and the jalebi was perfectly sweet and syrupy without being overwhelming. You can really taste the authenticity and tradition in every bite. If you’re in Ahmedabad and craving classic fafda–jalebi, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Good fafda and jalebi, should order thali to try all gujrati food. It was good food with good hygiene. As I gujrati I can say that they have good fafda and jalebi but not the best in the town no doubt good food but not best. Khaman was okay okay. Kadhi was fabulous. The staff was bit rude, other than that good place to try if visiting old ahmedabad. Tea was really really good. They should work on ventilation was having problem to breathe.

His tea became so famous that people started calling it Laibambawali Chai. Its antiquity is still maintained today. The father of Gujarati Thali: This restaurant is credited with serving the first 'Gujarati Thali' in Gujarat, which started in 1925 for just one rupee!. This is not a dish, but an identity of Gujarati culture. A favorite of luminaries: This place has been visited by Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who loved the yam puri here, and Raj Kapoor. The walls here bear witness to the history of Ahmedabad. 🍽️ Taste that set the trend Chandravilas is known worldwide for its two iconic snacks, the origin of which is also credited to this place: Fafda-Jalebi Combination: It is said that Chandravilas started the trend of eating Fafda and hot Jalebi together. The Fafda here is very soft and crispy, which is served with papaya chutney (sambhara) and a special sweet-sour curry. Long queues are seen here on the day of Dussehra. Gujarati Thali: If you want to experience an authentic Ahmedabadi Gujarati Thali, then this Thali is the best. The thali is a combination of rotis, bhakhri, dal-kadhi, vegetables, farsan like samosas, sev-usal, khaman and desserts. Other famous dishes: Breakfast khaman dhokla, sev-usal Lilavati kachori My opinion Atmosphere: Located on Gandhi Road, parking is a bit of a problem, but the interior ambience is in keeping with its heritage. The girdi and old style seating arrangement here will make you feel like you are in 19th century Ahmedabad. Taste and quality: Even after 125 years, there has been no change in the taste. Chandravilas has managed to retain the same traditional taste even today, which makes it unique. The food here is a symbol of purity and simplicity. My recommendation: If you want to experience the history of Ahmedabad through food and drink, then you should definitely visit Chandravilas to savor the Gujarati thali with fafda-jalebi and yam puri. This is a place that will not only give you food, but also an emotional connection.

What since 1900 ?? 😳😇 Ekdum Jordar 👌🏽 Well, this is one of the best places to eat gujarati nasto. I can say i have never seen a better place than this in terms of Vintage vibes, food quality, service and life-long experience. We tried Chandravilas Special Combo (350 Rupees in 2025). It was exceptional, I can't express it in words. I highly recommend this place for Brunch, not just to go for food but for experience you must visit this place once.

The place has character. I was going to order their special combo but the waiter told me it needed 3 people to finish. So I had a mini combo and it was plenty of food. To my taste there was a bit too much sweetness across the whole combo. But that's just personal preference. I particularly liked the Methi gota, samosa and patra. Overall it was a good experience.

The Food is too good and staff is also very friendly & cleanness is also good !! Foreigners also visit this restaurant and the restaurant comes under heritage site !! It’s is located in main old city of Ahmedabad !! Many Celebrities hand also visited this restaurant !! Today I had breakfast with my friends we all enjoy the food. we had ordered 6-7 different items all were too good !! Local Residents & who has come to visit Ahmedabad everyone should visit this restaurant !!
