Such a neat place. Stopped in on the way to Bowling Green. The ice cream is incredible and my kids had so much fun on the play area. We loved it so much we stopped by again on our way home again too. Definitely recommend!

Google
Words (and pictures) cannot do justice to the Chaney Dairy Farm experience! The adults had as much fun - if not more! - than the kids. We spent three hours walking around this working dairy farm, playing in the incredible playground, meandering through the shop and eating a scrumptious meal all followed up with huge scoops of ice cream!

Google
We really enjoyed our visit. The bacon cheeseburger and chicken tender salad was really good. Ice cream was good as well. My son got a bag of jelly beans and naturally opened it straight down the middle, so jelly beans were going everywhere. A staff member gave me a zip lock bag, which we really appreciated, this was our issue and she helped without hesitation. Great family friendly place to visit.

Google
We had so much fun and the ice cream was incredible. It wasn’t crowded when we went and the weather was perfect. I definitely want to go back and try more things.

Google
Cool place to see how cows are milked and grab some food. Burgers are delicious and the chili was amazing. The cows are cute. A self guided tour is only $4 and you have the chance to pet the cows. The ice cream is the best! We got cookie butter and it was great. It's very high quality with 16% milk fat. The gift shop is cute too.

Google
This place has expanded from first time we visited here several years while attending a CMA festival at Nashville. Playground, restaurant, seating area has all grown. Food & Ice cream is delicious & made right here at this location and I can watch a short video about farming process & business of making products sold here, very good way for kids to witness farming first hand.

Google
Reminds me of if Young's Diary went franchise. The big slide was closed, that was something we were going to do while there. Pretty fun place and large space to enjoy a nice sweet treat, especially with the family.

Google
I loved this place. Such a beautiful and peaceful location and environment. And the ice cream is amazing!

Yelp
I came across this place after going to a basketball game at Western Kentucky. This place is the real deal! I'm a sucker for ice cream from a creamery, and this one exceeded all of my expectations! Not only is there an ice cream shop, but there's also a cafe and market with local meats, cheeses, jerky, milk, and other snacks! I decided to get the Cookie Monster ice cream on a waffle cone, and that photo you see if one scoop! They really give you a ton of ice cream. The actual flavor was creamy and one of the most delicious ice creams I've ever had! There are pieces of cookie and Oreos in there as well which makes it even better. The workers in there are also very friendly and helpful! If you're looking for an authentic dairy farm, this is the place to go, just about an hour away from Nashville!

Yelp
Aw mannnnn... Best ice cream around but brought the family out for dinner and the food was cold and just poorly assembled. Wasn't expecting a lot, but did expect good food ‍ Didn't even make the kids finish it because it just wasn't good

Yelp
Delightful place for real fresh dairy ice cream. Many flavors to choose from. There is a nice patio area where you can sit and enjoy the views. We didn't eat food, just had ice cream. Well worth it.

Yelp
Chaney's Dairy Farm. Best ice cream in Bowling Green. The creamery is a great place to visit with the family. Loved they provide ice cream and lunch/dinner. We only had the ice cream. The nutter butter ice cream is a level above everything else (my opinion). I will get this every time we visit. Amazing. My wife prefers the Mint Chocolate Chip. Overall, great place to go on a hot day. Loved the atmosphere and customer service. Looking forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Such a nice atmosphere. Charming barn like restaurant. The Food was cook to perfection. Service was really great too. Highly recommend the burgers and the ice cream what an added touch. They also sell fresh farm meat, milk, eggs, canned goods, candies and much more.

Yelp
Some of the best ice cream in Kentucky! I try to get here every time I get to BG. I always purchase a single scoop of Blue Moon in a sugar cone. Delicious every single time. Customer service is always great! The amount of seating is great well, plenty of seats to enjoy your meal or ice cream with family. I would love to return sometime and grab food alongside my sandwich. I recommend all to give Chaney's a try!

Yelp
Their milk is really creamy. Great milk mustache opportunity. We got the 2 scoop moo pie. It's a bit of a wait but worth it. The small size is about the size of one ice cream scoop. No barn tours in the winter. It was cold. It's a nice trip there if you got nothing else to do. Lots of historical photos on the wall and stuff you can read about them.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Ice cream was fresh and creamy! Staff was excellent! I don't think we should pay four dollars a person for a tour that only lasted five minutes. The tour was walking into a building and looking at cows get milked through a glass window. There wasn't a tour guide or anyone there to ask questions. But there were people working in that area, so that's a quick change the company can make to have the experience be more for fulfilling.

Yelp
We had a great time here. It was a lot of fun to take photos see different Cowles and play on the playground. See the sights and just have a wonderful time. The ice cream was excellent. The service was good and the ambience was nice as well. Good spot had a lot of fun.

Dennis C.

Yelp
This is a great place for kids to go on field trips.Their ice cream is good but it's very expensive and very crowded.
google avatar

Jacey H.

Yelp
This place was awesome, the food was delicious and their milkshakes are 10/10. We got the bourbon crunch and it was so good. Their fried pickles are also so good, you really can't go wrong here.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Your visit here will be an ENTIRE experience! My son and I had lunch here twice in three days. Americans fare, done delicious. Then on to view the mechanical "milking" machine, and the overlook window to see the beautiful moo-ladies giving milk. There is even a viewing window to view the team bottling milk. Every experience begins with first impressions and the staff here are all smiles, welcoming and friendly. From those working directly with the animals, those taking orders at the register, cooks, everyone. The transparency here will keep me coming back anytime we are in KY. Be sure not to leave without a huge Chocolate Milkshake made with their Chocolate Milk and three scoops of Chocolate Ice Cream !

Yelp
Chaneys dairy barn is so fun for the kids! They love the playground and ice cream. The rest of the food is pretty normal. They love to see the cows and spend the day!

Yelp
My friends and I were visiting Bowling Green for a couple days and decided to stop by on our way out of town! We loved our visit. We started with the self guided tour for only $4 and it was very interesting and informative. We enjoyed getting to say hi to the cows at the end! We then stopped by the store to get ice cream and lunch and everything was amazing and well priced! We left the shop with 2 pints chocolate milk, cute little freezer bags, corn bread mix, a magnet and some frozen meat, but we would've taken more if we could! So happy to support this small business!

Yelp
The soup and sandwiches were fantastic! As we're the Red Rumble and Wow Now Brownie Cow chocolate shakes. They have wonderful service and come out to make sure you have everything you need. Awesome place for lunch

Yelp
Cool place to take the kiddos. Affordable eats. Very nice playground. Customer service was AWESOME. Family friendly!

Yelp
One could see how popular Chaney's is by the volume of push pins on the world map displayed on their wall. It was a must stop on our way home from the races at Kenticky Downs. I had a scoop of their Bourbon (MakersMark) Crunch, rich and creamy, and bourbony. A sweet treat before the drive back to Lexington. 116

Yelp
The potato soup and grilled turkey and cheese were really good! Great service. Good place for kids to play. I love the chocolate milk so good and better than Walmart also, Mums now available at the Dairy Barn

Yelp
I drove in 4.5 hours to Bowling Green, KY to try some of the places shown on Guy Fieri's Southern (Appalachia) Road Trip that just aired last month on the Dood Network. The ice cream was on point and I was able to get a scoop of the winning flavor called Papa Guava that a team designed here on Guy's show. It was really good but needed more guava in the mix. I gave 4 stars here as I was disappointed with the grill menu offering here as I arrived hungry for lunch. I will use Yelp now to find a nearby lunch destination.

Yelp
Ice cream is awesome and plenty of flavors to choose from and a playground for the kiddos

Yelp
Nicole found Chaney's DB on Yelp and I was so glad! This was a much needed fun filled stop and we were close to our hotel in Greensboro. The chocolate milk the next day was fantastic. I also loved the Nutter Milkshake. OMG! The playground was awesome. Our little one climbed up to some of the 30 ft slides and I was impressed with how she managed to surmount her fears. The field had a couple of cool features too. First you could walk to the top of a wooden precipice and some of the hay bales were wrapped in red white and blue. Further down the field we walked up to the calves who were so cute and we could feed them with freshly cut hay. This is a must stop. Service is awesome. You can order burgers and the gift shop has something for everyone if you are in need of a gift.

Yelp
It's just fun to go. Cute country-like store. Yummy ice cream and service was good. There is something to do for kiddos.

Clint T.

Yelp
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the ice cream was delicious. Unfortunately, they were under construction for an expansion while we were there. I'm sure the atmosphere is great when the place isn't in pieces, but for obvious reasons it was a little hard to navigate and enjoy.

Mark B.

Yelp
Great place for kids. Huge playground, excellent ice cream and the kid-favorite chicken fingers. They're adding more seating and there are plenty of options for the adults.

Karen K.

Yelp
The website makes this place to be a lot more than it is. The self guided tour was a disappointment, even if it just cost $4, by the time you pay for your group. You walk about three blocks down a gravel road to another area where the cows and the robot machine is at in a barn. You can't see anything but the cow's legs and udder and the one robot machine through a filthy window. Then you go upstairs and look out another filthy window that overlooks the cows out in an attached covered area with huge fan, a brush halfway down the area and I never saw any sprinklers or shower area. The website made it sound like this all took place in one room so we could see the cows with the brush and a cow walking in to get milked. The ice cream is better at Baskin Robbins as well. The playground was the best area if you have kids and it's free. We won't go back and won't recommend this place. The gift shop doesn't have anything interesting either unless you want products with Chaney;s written on them. Maybe I just expected too much after reading the website...

Yelp
Wanted to update my review and say that I still love visiting this place whenever I'm home, and add this photo from my last trip there!!

Yelp
Before leaving Kentucky, we wanted to let the kids have their last bit of fun so our families decided to stop by Chaney's and that was a really worthwhile decision. The prices as shown are very reasonable! I got a large for us to share and a waffle. Just watch out that the waffle cone bottom is sealed bcos it was a huge gaping hole and you'd end up dripping ice cream all over. We got Bourbon Crunch which was delicious but not crunchy, the Cherry Althea was decent, Peach was not fantastic and the Chocolate Mint was really good. They were all out of Dairy Free options unfortunately but it seems they usually carry 2 sorbets. In the back, there's a lovely playground for kids with the coolest swing that resembles a horse and 2 large tubes for the kids to slide down. We didnt do the corn maze as we were on a time crunch. COVID-19: There are signs to mask up. But I noticed that the tables were all dirty and not cleaned down. I'd recommend that they provide at least wet wipes for us customers to wipe it down if they didn't have the time or staff to. It isnt evenna covid thing as it is a hygienic thing on normal days. That's the obly reason why I took off 1*.

Yelp
Great place to eat and let kids burn off energy Move nights in summer Bathrooms are clean Big play area Don't forget the farm tours

Yelp
REAL milkshakes--thick, and made from any flavour of ice cream they have, and they have plenty! Ice cream was great, as was the food, which was also very affordable. Fried pickles and the double burger were delicious--our whole family enjoyed their meals and the kids enjoyed the playground. They also have a lovely gift shop. A great family business!

Yelp
Chaney's Dairy Barn is, in a word, a wonderful place! We were camping in Bowling Green over Memorial Day Weekend. When we go out of town my wife always does some sleuthy, detective work to find cool places for us to go. As we were driving around town getting camping provisions (alcohol) I mentioned stopping at a smoothie place (it was 90°, after all), and she said "No, I've got a different plan". Jim knows wifey well enough to know that she's got something planned. Fast forward a couple hours and she just started navigating. After a bit of drive out of Bowling Green, proper, we pulled into the parking lot of Chaney's. I was, like, WOW and YES at the same time! Set out in the middle of a very open, vast area is this little ice cream haven...and it was pretty awesome. Looking a lot like a barn, it was the perfect decor, given there seem to be a number of farms nearby. Since we had our dogs (Shelties, Dante and Madison) and with Covid-19 concerns, my wife entered the store first and came out with an ice cream cone that look SOOO effing good (mint chip). As soon as she took control of the Shelties it was my turn. I walked into a very quaint, comfortable looking, down home country store. They had all the trappings of a more relaxed, laid back time, with knick knacks, locally-made jams and jellies, t-shirts, hats...the gamut of souvenir trinketry and crafted items that fit the scheme. When you enter there's a stairway to an upstairs seating area (closed, of course, because of Covid-19), and then there are directional sign the tell you what direction to go for food or for ice cream. It's a 90°day. Jim wants ice cream. I browsed the flavors and settled on Bourbon Crunch. Single scoop. Sugar cone. Thank You very much. Coming in at about $3.00, it was very reasonable. Back outside Jim goes to re-join the wife and Shelties. And to enjoy the ice cream...all while practicing social distancing. There were about a half dozen picnic tables places around the parking lot and side yard. (Side note: I really hate that this review is peppered with references to Covid-19 and Social Distancing....I do...but it is a HUGE part of everything right now...and Jim apologizes for that) The Bourbon Crunch ice cream was KILLER (although there was no "crunch" at all), and I was surprised to find Nilla Wafers in the ice cream as well. The real challenge was trying to eat the cone before it 1) melted or B) fell off the cone or III) I ended up wearing int. (Jim won the challenge and finished it before any of those catastrophes occurred). Chaney's Dairy Barn is a pretty cool (ice cream...cool...GET IT!!??) place and when I find myself in Bowling Green again it'll definitely be on my Must Visit list.

Yelp
If you're looking for something to do in Kentucky, I highly recommend making this place one of your stops. There is plenty of parking in the lot and the self-guided tour was pretty cool to see, if you're curious how the process works for getting milk from cows. The self-guided tour was only $4/person and we actually did run into one of the owners at the facility who explained to us the process of milking the cow. He was very friendly and did an amazing job explaining the entire process. I also liked that he went into further detail to talk about the personalities of the cows that we saw. I would also recommend wearing comfortable shoes because there is a bit of walking from where you park, to the facility where the tour is. The souvenirs here are also really cute, and I couldn't help but to pick out a mug and tshirt for myself. As far as the ice cream, it was probably one of the best scoops of ice cream I've ever had. They offer so many great classic flavors! I had rocky road, which is one of my favorites. It was so creamy and delicious. I didn't get to try the milk, but I would love to try it next time I come, which I honestly would go again just for at least the ice cream! This is a great place for families to go to if you're in the area visiting and you also want some ice cream. 10/10, would recommend!!!

Yelp
After spending a couple of hours at the Hobson's House on this Sunday afternoon, my partner, his family and I stopped at Chaney Farms before heading back to our Air bnb. We are so glad we did. They have homemade ice cream to die for made from the milk of their milk cows. We ordered some variety of flavors such as praline & cream, toasted coconuts, red white blue berry, and even a chocolate chip milkshake. The prices as shown are very reasonable. Besides ice cream, they offer a variety of specialty food items - jams, jellies, pancake mix, sauces, etc. The staff was very friendly and the service quick. In the back, there's an awesome playground for kids. We totally recommend stopping by and enjoying all that Chaney's has to offer!

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Definitely wouldn't go back or recommend. I waited in line for over 20 minutes to order (understandable because they were very busy). I ordered 2 moo pies, which say they take 12-15 minutes to make. After 25 minutes of waiting, I went to inquire about our desserts. They had forgotten to set a timer, and they were burnt. At this time, they offered to remake or refund and told us it would be 12 minutes. We decided to remake. An additional 15 minutes later, my husband goes up and is told they will be a couple more minutes. At this point, they offer a coupon for free ice cream. My husband told them we weren't local and wouldn't use them. 5 more minutes go by... still not done. At this point, they refunded our money. Ultimately waited an additional 25 minutes for them to finally be finished and slightly overcooked. The ice cream on top was nothing special. My husband had cookie dough and said there were 2 chocolate chips and 1 piece of cookie dough. The chocolate toppings were also not correct, which wasn't a huge deal but definitely frustrating after waiting over an hour for this.

Cashea S.

Yelp
I'm giving this place 5 stars for the ice cream and service, but I would give 4 stars for the food. My photo didn't keep but we ordered the double cheeseburger with potato soup and the pimento cheese with french fries and a small side of potato salad. The pimento cheese was good but not the best I've ever had. If they added shredded cheese and less mayonnaise, it would be perfect. But still good. The fries were nice and tasty. The soup was great! Tasted like a baked potato covered in sour cream and cheese. The burger was also good. For being from a small place, it's a good quality burger. It's not red Robin or anything but it's definitely good for the price. The ice cream though. Yes! We had a dairy barn we went to in Connecticut for fresh ice cream and this was just as good. It's nice and creamy and rich. I couldn't make up my mind between the butter pecan and the cookies and cream so the person scooping gave me a kiddie scoop of each to equal my 1 scoop. The cookies in cream is just so freaking good. I sampled the peach and while it was good, it could be peachier. But that cookies and cream. I'll get that again and again!

Yelp
Our first time at Chaney's while spending the weekend in Bowling Green. We waited nearly 20 minutes for our food after ordering. I observed the kitchen and counter staff and everyone was going in different directions and there wasn't much organization. I waited at the counter for them to deliver my order. The two sandwich platters sat there for several minutes with the only thing needed was for someone to fill our soup bowls. I finally said something to the young man at the cash register and he went back into kitchen to fill our soup bowls. When we sat down eat, our potato soup was cold. I ate a couple of bites and decided to go speak with a manager after eating our deli sandwiches. She was apologetic when hearing of the cold soup and gave us two vouchers for one free scoop of their ice cream. The peanut butter fudge swirl was bland and my wife's cherry cordial was tasty. I can't recommend this restaurant based upon our experience. Upper management needs to better access their situation and correct many things.

Yelp
Very cute local dairy barn, with, don't come for me- perfectly okay ice cream. When planning our trip to Bowling Green, literally every single Pinterest blog suggests Chaney's but I don't get it. The ice cream was fine, and that's it. Super clean dining area! We also didn't do the dairy tour. I think that could have changed the experience, but it wasn't worth driving out of the way for.
google avatar

Robert G.

Yelp
The barn don't play when it comes to ice cream. Really good ice cream and great service. They got some unique flavors and recommend giving them a try. Red velvet with chocolate and bourbon crunch flavors. Try a sample and order a scoop.

Nicole W.

Yelp
Came for the famous ice cream, my husband and I split a flight {4 flavors} and they all tasted...exactly the same. Like nothing really, no flavor. The consistency was creamy but if I was blindfolded, I couldn't have guessed any of them. Was disappointed.

Marissa C.

Yelp
Loved the variety of flavors and that they let you had samples. Only wish they had descriptions of flavors. Cookies and cream was winner for me here.

Georgiann C.

Yelp
Such a fun experience! The ice cream is amazing! The owners and staff are precious. They have family movie nights in the summer that are so fun. Our church has had our Christmas party there and the food was excellent and very homey feeling.

Teresa B.

Yelp
Always friendly . Unique local business. Delicious fresh ice cream with lots of choices. Great family place. My grand kids love it. We also had a birthday party here which was a big hit with the kids. A couple of great play areas.
google avatar

Kenny K.

Yelp
They got a slide out back that'll make your butt vibrate. And ice cream that might do the same if you're an intolerant person.

Raena L.

Yelp
In town for an event and was told this place existed, so I thought like it definitely sounded like way more fun to do something local than fast food. Got the grilled ham and cheese, sode of fries, and a chocolate milk to go (cuz I had my dog with me, so couldn't eat in). Didn't do ice cream cuz its 95* out and I'm traveling, so it would have melted too quickly. The chocolate milk was good (whole milk, I would have loved skim, but they only had whole and I wanted to try it. .. it's a diary, after all!) The ham and cheese was fine, the ham was good, but it was nothing special. At first I thought they forgot the cheese. It had one little slice. So fine, but disappointing for a dairy, and also because I really wanted to Love alittle local place. I did get a few good pics with my dog on the playground there. #TryNewThings #NewToMePlace #ReviewsByRL

Yelp
A local institution and with good reason. Ice cream is outstanding and the food seems fine. I had the burger which was plenty adequate, but the star here is the ice cream.
google avatar

Cathy E.

Yelp
We had the ice cream in a waffle cone. The ice cream was very fresh and good. We did tour the facility just ate ice cream. The place was very quaint and clean and I nice stop on our way home from Nashville in Bowling Green Kentucky!
google avatar

Jesse K.

Yelp
Chaney's Dairy is a cool thing for non-farm folks. My family was impressed watching these automated machines milking the cows. The scrub brushes. The lasers. The whole thing. Wow. There's a cool playground and and bounce pillow outside. I don't recommend trying those on a 95* day. Too hot; low shade. I had no idea how delicious this ice cream would be. They have tons of flavors. Well made. Wish I had another scoop right now!

Sharon H.

Yelp
The food was good, the service was good. We paid to do the self tour but then noticed no one else had we were the only ones wearing the wrist bands. I was okay with that because I was happy to support Chaney's. It was a great experience for the kids they loved it. After walking around and doing the self the kids played for awhile then we went inside and got Ice Cream the Moo Pies were the best would recommend them to everyone.

Yelp
New to town and a resident of the neighborhood around Chaney's. Visited last night for the first time with high expectations. They were not met. Instead of a creamy high-butterfat product, it was a thick, gummy consistency. On top of the consistency issue, my wife I and both ordered a scoop of coconut and a scoop of coffee. Coconut had some coconut flavor, but the coffee had zero coffee flavor. Very disappointed. Frankly do not understand the 5-star Yelp rating. Will go back to try the food, but done with the ice cream.

Terri W.

Yelp
Chaney's is a great place to eat and we are always made to feel welcome. The young people working are always top notch. We love to bring our family in to enjoy the atmosphere-always family friendly!
