Average Chinese supermarket but with super rude seafood Dept staff. Even though they opened at 8am, they are not ready to sell any seafood. They asked me to wait until they are not busy which I waited for 15 mins and there were no other customers on line. Never coming back again.

The old guy that work in the vegetable section is rude and racist. Ignored me twice when I kindly asked about the price for ginger. I thought he didn’t me at the beginning but it was intentional. First thing that came out from his mouth was accusing me a foreigner just came from China can’t read what “lb” or “each” mean. Bruh if the board was written legibly, I wouldn’t have asked. Terrible customer service

Loved it! Way better than the market I got to near my house. Lots more variety in products for our hot pot dinners and other asian meals we cook. The prices are decent too! The place is nicely decorated and spacious too.

lowkey this is the only market my mom lets me go to, and I have mixed feelings about it … the staff are very sweet and helpful, but a lot of their american stuff is expired … no joke i buy whipped cream and it expired in september or I buy pringles and they’re five months past the exp date !! so um !! js come here for Asian stuff not American stuff 🥹

You can get fresh seafood at this supermarket. They have a wide variety of Asian food items, seafood, meat and fruits to choose from for a reasonable price. I would recommend this supermarket to anyone looking for fresh seafood.

I was able to find the fish I wanted and it was very fresh. Also purchased some vegetables while there.

The location is not bad for a supermarket. Prices are average with so much competitive and newer ones nearby. If this establishment gets a face-lift or a serious remodeling with brighter lighting and new counters, business will attract more sincere customers. The original establishment was bigger, and after giving up space to share leasing footage to a few stores facing Kissena Blvd, it makes it tight. Hopefully, in the near future, management will do some serious remodeling.

It's a Chinese supermarket obviously. There are many choices especially seafood. But the line could be a little crazy when you check out. And customers are arguing like nothing wrong with it.

Family outing in Flushing on a week day. Very hard to find parking. Parking Lots in the vicinity were filling up too. Somehow, I ended up in the Chang Jiang Supermarket. When you shop and buy $50 bucks of products at Chang Jiang Supermarket within 90 minutes you get parking for free. Purchased $25 dollars and overstay 90 minutes. My parking fee was $10 bucks. Great deal compared to parking at other lots that can cost $12-$16. Definitely, the aisles were well maintained here. We shopped for papaya and staff was picking up the wrappers and sweeping the floor. Lots of sales when it comes to shopping for vegetables. Fruits are fresh and well packaged. Busy shopping here and lines get long at the cash register however staff is very efficient and moves quickly. Will be back again.

The workers at the cashier are terrible all they care about is money they don't gave a dam for what you are paying for this is why Chinese people are so rude and mean

Great selection, excellent prices. Got a live buffalo fish that they quickly prepped.

I remembered coming here a long time ago when I went to an academy in Flushing during my elementary school years. Back then, my grandpa would come here to buy box lunches.

After a recent visit to this store where I have been a patron for over 20 years on July 12 2023 they cloned my card and made two large withdrawals from in 12 seconds they took everything I had to go to the 109 precint to report theft When and officer escorted me they could not find anyone to speak ( which they do ) how do I know it was them Its on my statement !!the camers on ceiling are not to watch cashiers But to watch who is using a pin at check ,be careful they are aimed right you .

Holy cow, this place is amazing- I walked in to buy some clementines and wound up staying another 1/2 hour, just wandering up and down the aisles. They carry EVERYTHING. Want an entire squid in a bag? No problem. Chicken feet? Got 'em. Black chicken? Yup. What the heck is black chicken? They have it ALL, including pots, pans, dishes and an overwhelming amount of candy, sweets and soda... so much YUMMY stuff! Definitely go when you have time to explore and bring your list because it can be overwhelming. They accept cash and credit cards. This place is so worth the trip!

9.7.17. Chang Jiang Supermarket. Authenticly Asian, Kissena Boulevard, Downtown Flushing. NY. Wow! Talk about an out-of-this-world experience! As you step into "A Land" of Asian and Chinese cultures. I love the old neighborhood Vibe of seeing the inexpensive fresh fruits and vegetables piled up in front of the supermarket, alive with color and variety. All fresh for the customer on the sidewalk, as you go by. As you enter the store, the Fish, and butcher departments to the left. On the right you will find the homeopathic pharmacy with ginseng and many other natural cures. This Supermarket also features a very large beer selection, foods for westerners such as myself. I love the seasonal items such as cookies and cakes for the upcoming Fall Moon Festival. And the excited, crowded vibe that many Shoppers in this busy store create . I don't feel like I'm in Kansas anymore. For experience a continent away, check this place out today. JIM D.

I had the most incredible time here exploring this market with my parents. We were first overwhelmed by the amazing frozen food section - three long aisles of dumplings, shumai, bao.zi, etc. galore. The produce section was also exciting, for it included mounds of fresh look veggies and unique foods I had never even heard of before. I was particularly amazed by their soy/tofu/gluten section, where I could find lots of interesting types of soy products that I had only ever seen in Chinese dishes. Lastly, the northern most wall of the supermarket is full of seafood, animal parts, turtles... not for the faint of heart. I'd highly recommend this grocery store to anyone who comes to Flushing. It wasn't even terribly crowded on a Saturday early afternoon.

Probably cleanest supermarket in Flushing and great selection of seafood, vegetables and fruits. Staff isn't the friendliest, but that's par for the course. Everything looks fresh and is. This is number one place to shop in Flushing for groceries

Pretty convenient location with the 7 train and a couple different bus stops at walking distance. Right at the corner so it's not hard to find and the cashier can sometimes be a little impatient but at most it's alright. A few different items and good prices. Decent fruits but I'm not big on getting the seafood there unless I'm cooking it that day. I usually don't shop here but if I need something and happen to pass by, it's really not a bad place at all. Sushi. 16 pieces of salmon sashimi for $11. It is good. It is fresh. Great deal. Oh and there is a supermarket too.

Am I the only white guy in an Asian supermarket? When I went for a trip to the Asian side of Queens, Flushing Main Street, to go shopping at the new Skyview mall till I saw this supermarket. It's about few blocks away from the Mall. When I went inside, the supermarket is full of Asian or non-Asian people buying groceries, from the Chinese man screaming at the fruit cart to the bizarre seafood section. I brought salmon for $4.99 per lbs and I was so happy because I used to buy fish for $8.00 per lbs. Their groceries are so cheap, but most of them are either in Chinese or Korean. Also, there's an American aisle right next to the household aisle I think. Why I took two stars? It's not because of the bizarre food that they have, like live frogs or jellyfish, no it's the supermarket itself. It's too crowded and it needs an improvement; in other words, renovated it. This supermarket is so cheap and affordable. I'll avoid Food Emporium or Gristedes, take the 7 train to the last stop, go grocery shopping at Chang Jiang supermarket, and that's that!!

This review is mainly for the produce / exterior sections of the store. I get all my produce here because it's guaranteed to be AT LEAST half of what American grocers/supermarkets charge. The fruits are also cheaper than HK Supermarket which is a few blocks away; veggies and soy products depends. I love fruits so I come here at least weekly if not twice a week. Bananas can be as cheap as 49c/lb. 5 large oranges for $1.99, sweet and juicy ones if you know how to pick. 4 kiwis for $2. Occasionally they will also have $1 a bag/box of grapes/berries (if you see a middle-aged Chinese man outside shouting ONE DALLA followed by a jumble of words, the sale is happening). Quality comes with a caveat: you have to be able to overlook a few bad apples in the barrel (pun intended) and know how to pick. So no, it's not 100% fresh, but it's definitely feasible to find fresh stuff. The lines to the cashiers can be tricky to navigate. It's one line per cashier, and you have to stay alert on how it's moving and put your items on the counter once the cashier finishes bagging for the person before you. Yes it's hectic, somewhat disorganized, and looks like a dump, but for the most part the produce is clean, fresh and not to mention dirt cheap. p.s. forego the avocados. You can find those for cheaper at places like Keyfood.

the place have decent stuff but the cashiers a really bad, they don't acknowledge you they act like you are the devil or they all ready hate you, I can't believe the owner allowed their cashiers to treat their customers that way and that was not the first time it happened I live in Flushing, they need to change the way they treat their customers.

Finally checked this supermarket out. One of the better priced Asian food markets in Flushing. I'm not going to repeat what the other reviewers said. What was I will say is if you're partial to turtles, avoid the meat and seafood section. If you dislike crowds, this place is open late night. Just don't shop there during evening rush hour. Still it doesn't get that crowded. The only reason why I gave it three instead of four was an expired date I found on one of the canned Asian vegetables. As of this entry it's January 2011. The can was marked due until 2009. Yikes.

This is a review for the sushi section of this supermarket. I was recommended by a friend to eat their sushi. He said their sushi is so fresh. He was definitely right! I ordered sashimi (16 pieces for $11.99). I also got avocado roll, spicy tuna roll and shrimp roll with spicy sauce ($4.00 each). I was given a discount due to purchasing it not early in the day. So the guy was nice and only charged me $22 for everything. He even gave me a free order of seaweed! The sushi is like restaurant quality! I would definitely visit again if I want sushi.

Conveniently located Asian (Chinese) supermarket in the heart of Flushing Chinatown. A few blocks away from the Main Street 7-line subway station and LIRR Flushing station, with limited street parking available. Across the street from the Queens Borough Public Library and next door to a variety of 99 cent discount stores. Generous produce area as you enter the establishment, with check-out stations galore. Well-stocked when it comes to food items, but perhaps a bit lacking when it comes to household items (pots & pans, health & beauty, etc.). Huge variety of snacks and noodles. Per the location, the skew is a bit Taiwanese, so they're very limited in terms of Japanese products, which I'm more used to coming from the west coast. Sure, better bargains may be had at some of the smaller mom-and-pop grocers, but as far as one-stop shops go for Chinese/Asian produce and products, I'll be returning to Chang Jiang.

Grimey, and still a local fave because dirt-cheap across the board. New-age old-school Flushing @ its best.

Cheap as hell and the fish is pretty much still alive when you buy it. Never had salmon that fresh in my life, and for literally 1/3 of the price friggin Fairway charges. Parking in the back lot is free for an hour and a half if you spend over $20 inside, just give the cashier your parking ticket to stamp and youre good to go! You can even leave the parking lot, walk around for an hour and do some other shopping and head back to spend like 25 bucks on groceries and get the hell out of there. Great deal because Lord knows parking on thr street in Flushing is pretty much the worst idea ever.

Asian markets are all over Flushing and this one is one of the bigger ones. I frequent this one due to its proximity to my home. The outside, like all of the Asian markets, is full with fruit carts. The fruit is insanely cheap-I got 6 fiji apples for 2.00 and 5 oranges for 1.00 However, the fruit is not the freshest looking...but for the price I can overlook that. Inside there is a huge quantity of produce and fish and assorted Asian goods. They also have some other market goods-like organic milk!! The only con about this place is that it is really crowded and after paying for your groceries-there is a rush to move out of the way. People, especially after 5pm, get awfully pushy too. There is a huge assortment of different frozen dumplings and buns--yummy!

Good selection. Prices are pretty cheap. I often buy frozen dumplings there. Also a good place to buy lobster. I also get the cans of milk tea. Surprisingly low prices on some more typical American foods like bagels & Philly cream cheese, as well.

Since it's across the street from Quickly's, I often frequent this supermarket when I come to Flushing to buy cheap Asian vegetables. They have a huge produce selection, as well as seafood and fruits. They are also pretty well stocked in dry goods, snacks, and sauces. Overall, I think this supermarket is a great for one stop shopping. It's also not too bad of a walk to the subway. Although, so many people come here it gets very crowded. Prices are also better than the larger Hong Kong Market.
