8 of the best beaches in Singapore - SilverKris

"Time seems to stand still at this historic coastal park near Changi Airport and overlooking Pulau Ubin; it’s a popular family getaway that still retains the simple, kampung-era charm of the 1960s with decades-old palm trees and shady spots. Visitors often head to Car Park 4 to watch planes take off and land, while birdwatchers and nature lovers may spot parrots, kingfishers and occasional marine visitors such as sea turtles." - James P. Ong

A 7am visit to Changi Beach Park offers a perfectly serene and quiet stroll, feeling like a well-kept secret from the bustling city. As the sun begins to rise, casting a soft, golden glow over the sand and sea, the park is enveloped in a peaceful silence. The only early birds are the dedicated park cleaners, whose quiet work in the morning calm adds to the tranquil atmosphere rather than disturbs it. The true magic, however, is the unique soundscape. The tranquility is gently broken every few minutes by the deep, distant rumble of aircraft—a powerful yet strangely soothing reminder of the world in motion as planes make their final descent into the nearby Changi International Airport. It’s a captivating contrast that makes this simple morning walk feel both secluded and connected to something larger.

This is one of the oldest beach in Spore. And it’s has its rustic vibes here. On weekdays, it’s peaceful and windy. If u lucky, u can see hornbills flying around. And it’s also a good place if u like watching aeroplanes, u walk towards the SAF jetty. U will be directly under the landing flight path.

Really nice place to take a walk, ride a bike or even spend the day. Fire pits is available and several gazebos to use. Alternatively you can place a day tent or just sit on the lawn. A clean bathroom is available for free and even some food vendors and a restaurant. The place is one with nature and feel safe to be in, even at night time.

While the park is not necessarily known for its beaches, it is actually a relatively uncrowded place to enjoy the sea, get a swim and enjoy views of Pulau Ubin Island and Malaysia in the distance. There are no official changing rooms but the public restrooms do the trick. Similarly, in lieu of a shower, try the toilet hose, especially in the accessible restroom area. The park is also a great place for a picnic or bike ride along the seashore. Some go in for jogging here as well but I generally avoid jogging when I am in the vicinity of the equator. Pro Tip The beach is directly in the flight path of flights to Changi Airport with an airplane passing over every 2 or 3 minutes by our count. This can either be irritating or enjoyable (my wife loves to count airplanes). The choice is yours, I suppose.

Beautiful place to watch the sun set, always enjoy the beach that’s not overly developed. Witnessed a few big hornbills playing and flying in the tree canopy.

Peaceful, underrated gem in Singapore Changi Beach Park is one of my go-to spots when I just want to slow down, breathe, and enjoy a quiet moment by the sea. It’s not as crowded as East Coast or Sentosa, which is exactly what I like about it. The vibe here is very laid-back — you’ll see uncles fishing, families having a simple picnic, and people cycling or jogging along the coastal path. Sometimes I just sit and watch the planes fly low overhead near Changi Airport. There’s something calming about that. The view during sunset is beautiful. If you’re into peaceful walks or just want to clear your mind, this is the place. Plenty of benches, BBQ pits, and clean toilets too. It has that old-school Singapore charm that’s getting rare these days. I usually bring my own food, but there are nearby hawker stalls and small eateries if you need a bite. Great spot for solo time or quiet catch-ups with friends. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a chill beach park away from the city buzz.

It's fine to just walk along the shore, but if you want to go into the sea, you'll find there are too many ants there! The view is beautiful, the airplanes are amazing. But if you are not interested in airplanes, there is no need to go a long way especially for the beach and sea there. The beach is too small. There are tooooo many ants everywhere!! I took a walk in the sea and then went ashore to have a meal, a lot of ants climbed onto my feet! I went to the toilet to wash, but the door couldn't lock and it was full of ants🤯 I opened my plastic bag, finding a strange insect crawling around. I also didn't know when winged ants had landed on my body!

Yelp
I was like a tourist in my own country! I have not stepped into this park for so many years - I have totally forgotten how close the planes are to the beach as they fly in to land at Changi Airport next door. Thanks to Pokemon Go, we decided to come to Changi Village yesterday as we have heard about the many rare pokemons that one can catch here. The second we sat down at an eatery and turned on the Pokemon Go app, a PIKACHU appeared!! I have waited SO long for a Pikachu!!! Alas alas alas, it was not to be mine as it ran away even though I threw many balls at it. You can imagine my deep disappointment! Shortly after, I ran outside to try to catch another Pikachu, but that escaped too! Double disappointment! #sobs What saved the day for me is the brilliant sunset that greeted us when we came to the park after dinner. Had a really wonderful time enjoying the super gorgeous sunset for about 45 minutes. The dazzling sunset really helped to mend my "broken heart" of not catching pikachu ^_^ I shouldn't be talking about Pokemon Go so much ya. This is a review about the park. Here are some reasons why I think this park is wonderful: 1. Really awesome sunset - This must be one of the best places in SG to view a really amazing sunset. Come at around 6.30pm. It is not crowded even on weekends so you need not worry having to jostle with crowds. 2. Plenty of space and not crowded - Although this is a small park, it is relatively quiet. It makes a great sanctuary to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Definitely recommended to calm your soul and find some peace & quiet. 3. Lots of amenities nearby - The famous Changi Village Hawker Centre is just next door. There are also many F&B outlets (cafes, coffee shops, eateries, The Changi Village Hotel) to choose from. 4. Fabulous spot for plane-spotting - This is really a very good spot for plane-spotting. The planes get really really close which is ultra fun and exciting. 5. Good spot to catch pokemons - There is a gym here on top of 3 poke stops. So, if you are a Pokemon Go Trainer, this is a must-visit spot. It is not difficult to get here. If you are taking public transport, you can take a train to Bedok or Tanah Merah Station (Green Line) and change to Bus #2. 4 bus routes come here: #2, 29, 59 & 109. Ample parking space can be found here for those driving. Alternatively, you can also take a train to Changi Airport and cab here. A word of caution though; as Changi Village is currently an ultra hot Pokemon Go Hotspot, the roads can get pretty congested at night. Thus, it may be better to come here by public transport.

Yelp
The only purpose for me to visit this beach is to photograph landing shots of aircraft approaching runway 20R, Changi Airport. For aviation enthusiasts, this is highly recommended and usually runway 20 in used during summer time. This beach is near to Changi Village Food Centre, so walking at the beach after a heavy but delicious meal makes sense and it can be a cool walk too. Often quite breezy and nice surrounding making it enjoyable even at the hottest time of the day. I wouldn't recommend swimming though as it's quite dirty. Camping at night is quite thrilling, I did it once and it was memorable with strong wind blowing against your hair, you might need a wind breaker to keep yourself warm. Overall, I had fun at the beach, not the biggest, but it's pretty cool to take your family there, escaping from the crowded places in the city and also you can take the ferry ride to Palau Ubin.

Yelp
This beach park juts out from the Changi Village and ferry point and is the perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon "away" from Singapore while still totally in the city. It's a wonderful picnic or nap area, as the beach is not too crowded, there are many trees, and the sand is clean. Bring a blanket and just enjoy the crashing waves and shade. One of my favorite places in Singapore! Tons of restaurants flank the ferry terminal too, incase you didn't pack food. There's also a playground for kids and clean public restrooms.

Yelp
This is - as far as know - the only real beach of Singapore. There is of course Sentosa, but that feels a bit too artificial and is full of tourists on the weekends. I have heard of Monkey Beach, but I still need to find out where that is. Anyway, don't expect the world! I found three seashells, and lots of people fishing. But there are quiet areas, and the swimming is OK. You get to Changi by taking bus 9 or 2 from Tanah Merah MRT station. Walk towards the ferry terminal but turn right at the foodcourt, and cross the bridge (you can't miss it). You can walk from here to Pasir Ris: I haven't done it yet, but it should be a pleasant excursion.
