"Try refined Khmer cuisine on the riverside Chanrey Tree's location on the leafy riverside makes it a lovely spot for both lunch and dinner. Delivering refined renditions of authentic Khmer cuisine, you'll find some of the same dishes on the menu that you'll see at the Sugar Palm, along with dishes that don't feature on other restaurant menus, including many of the owner’s mother’s recipes. I love starting with the crispy sticky rice with natang - a dip of minced pork, shrimp, coconut milk, and peanuts. It comes with fried tempura-like frangipanis and vegetables. Chanrey Tree is also the place to try char kroeung, a quintessential Cambodian dish of pork, chicken or beef stir-fried with kroeung, a paste that is the basis for many dishes. The basic yellow kroeung is made from lemongrass, turmeric, galangal, lime, garlic, and spring onion. Try the char kroeung with frog's legs if they're in season. They're wonderful! Another dish I adore is the free-range Khmer chicken, roasted with honey, rice brandy, young jack fruit and lemongrass, and served with a deliciously-pungent prahok (fermented fish) dip and fresh vegetable crudites. The restaurant itself is a stylish space consisting of a traditional Khmer timber house with a contemporary extension. If you're a people-watcher, sit in the front courtyard. If you enjoy the buzz of a chatty room, book a table out the back. Note the impressive sleek kitchen as you stroll to your table. Book a day ahead during high season."

Delicious food, great atmosphere, and excellent service.
The food here is very good—flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The menu offers a nice variety of options, and everything we tried was satisfying and well-prepared. The ambiance is also a highlight: cozy, welcoming, and beautifully decorated, creating a pleasant space to enjoy your meal.
What really made the experience stand out was the excellent service. The staff were professional, kind, and always ready to help with a smile. It’s a place I’d recommend to others looking for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.

Food was amazing. Service outstanding. Sen helped us ordering the food and gave us great advice. Couldn't be happier. We paid with credit card. It was 41 USD for two main dishes, two drinks, and one dessert. Highly recommend.

We discovered restaurant by chance while strolling toward the night market and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we had in Siem Reap. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavor. I especially loved the chicken- banana blossom salad, and the sweet po pea dessert.
We were so impressed that we came back the next day! We ordered different main dishes but stuck with the same salad and dessert because they were just that good. However, the salad was much spicier the second time, and we couldn’t finish it. After we mentioned it to the staff, they kindly offered to remake it, with a smile and no hesitation. That level of service really stood out.
Would definitely come back if we visit Siem Reap again.

Food and ambience was good. The service is also really good. Our server Song Sen was really nice and even taught us some phrases in Cambodian! There was a card that was provided that I have kept throughout my trip to help use day to day terms. Nice touch. We ordered a beef salad and two mains, rice is an add on but overall the meal was really good. Would definitely recommend to give it a try. Thank you to Song Sen and the rest of the team for giving us a good experience and meal 🙏🏽

We visited this place for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was a perfect blend of cozy and serene, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a relaxed meal. Despite being centrally located, it felt like a peaceful retreat, away from the usual city buzz.
The staff was incredibly warm and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive, and they were happy to recommend dishes based on our preferences.
As for the food, it was a delightful introduction to Khmer cuisine. We started with the spring rolls, which were fresh, well-seasoned, and paired with a delicious dipping sauce. The highlight of our meal was the fish amok—beautifully presented and bursting with rich, creamy flavors. The balance of spices and coconut was just right, making it one of the best versions of this dish we’ve had.
The restaurant also offered a decent selection of beers and cocktails, which complemented the meal well. Whether you’re looking for something local or a familiar favorite, there’s something for everyone.
The staff also helps you hail a tuk tuk after you finish!
Overall, this place is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic Khmer flavors in a relaxing atmosphere. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a peaceful setting makes it highly recommended. Would definitely return!

On my 7 day trip to Siem Reap, i went here 3 times. It was recommended by the resort that i was staying in. The food here is very good, especially the fish amok! I've tried that dish in several places during my trip, and the best one was here. Definitely recommend this restaurant to try very well executed Cambodian food. Price might be higher but it is worth it.
