"Lettuce Wraps and More at Chantecler This intimate restaurant has quickly become one of my new favorites. It has all of the marks of an amazing experience: attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff; simple, yet flavorful dishes; boozy libations and a gorgeous atmosphere (including that perfect date night soundtrack). Patrons come for the lettuce wraps: braised pork shoulder with Asian-inspired accoutrements like shrimp chips, kimchi, and Sriracha sauce. You wrap up your desired ingredients in one big piece of lettuce. It's interactive and delicious! You will leave craving the calamari, drenched in a peanut and tamarind sauce. A nice touch—everything is served on pretty antique plates, just like at Grandma's house. They've also just started serving a tasting menu twice a week. Everyone raves about Grand Electric in Parkdale, but Chantecler is the underrated underdog restaurant of the neighborhood."

Great local butcher shop. Outstanding prime steaks when you want to treat yourself, with lots of other cuts if you're budget conscious or looking for chicken, pork or lamb options. Good selection of wine and charcuterie, plus eggs, butter and select pantry items. The staff are pleasant and helpful.

One of the best butchers in town, and exceptional value for the quality of meat offered here. The lamb is the best by far. Lamb rib is 5-star. Ditto the lamb roast. I’m grateful for the small cuts that are saner portion sizes than typically found in North America. Steaks cut to order (and they’re more than happy to trim the fat BEFORE weighing). Incredible sausages. Top end butcher with more attainable prices than their peers.

The mortadella hoagie was okay, the quality of the meat was great and the I liked the spicy mustard but the sandwich itself wasn't all that substantial, which was surprising given the photos i had seen. Maybe just an off day from the employee preparing it.

EDITED REVIEW - after I posted this, the owner of the shop Jacob reached out and explained that sometimes the dry bits on an aged steak causes an upset stomach. He also made a point of getting my info and dropping a replacement steak, which he definitely did not have to do. It was a really lovely approach and although it took a negative review, a business that’s willing to admit to an error and go above and beyond in making it right, deserves a better review and a return trip later on 🙂 ———- They sold me a bad cut of aged prime rib for $66. It gave me food poisoning. I don’t like leaving bad reviews so I emailed them about it and respectfully brought it up. But they said that cut is not best for a steak, I should’ve cooked it differently, and told me to come back for a more expensive option. That made no sense because I had told them why I wanted it and they even gave me a sheet explaining “how to reverse sear a steak” when I bought it. I was surprised that instead of addressing my concerns they were telling me I should’ve know better and should spend more money.

I’ve shopped at Boucherie since it first opened. I’ve always loved the quality of meats, especially their dry aged beef selection. On my last visit I noticed that they expanded their prepared food selection. I purchased the most incredible smoked duck breast and a duck confit and some sides of veg that just needed to be thrown in the oven. The end result - almost as good as a meal at Chantecler/Le Phenix. Great customer service as always.

The 120 day aged T bone was the best steak I’ve ever had (including Jacobs). The people there were so helpful, told us exactly how to cook it to perfection. Thank you so much!!! The Italian hoagie was amazing too

I seldom buy steak from a butcher, and totally regret buying it from this place. After talking to the person on the counter on meat cuts to buy, i followed her advise and purchased $27 steak. It was full of fat! hardly any edible meat after cooking it as per her instructions. Also, their burgers are terrible, also full of fat and overly salted - what a waste of money - will never go there agian.

Ordered roast beef and mortadella sandwiches through Uber Eats. Does not travel well, bread was soggy and roast beef tasted worst than what you grab at the grocery store. May have a different experience dining in, will never know as this is not for me.
