Lively place and busy. I am a big fan of the small table and chairs, providing a unique experience.
We weren't sure how to order whether we go up or someone comes to us so we were waiting for 15 minutes. Eventually someone came over to us. We ordered two pork congee.
This is the most unique texture of congee I have ever heard of. Normally, there is some bits of rice in the congee, but this congee was a completely smooth thick porridge.
The congee was incredibly smoky and rich. The congee initially gave a really wholesome feeling and with the pepper added gave the much needed fire. However, I did find the meal a bit too rich for my liking. I think I would struggle to finish that portion size off if I had that meal quite often. I would have liked something to add to cut through the richness of the congee.
The bits of pork inside the congee were incredible. They were beautifully cooked and tasty.
Also, the pork floss and the congee work really well together if you get the ratio right.
I couldn't have the crispy bread to go on top as it contains milk and egg, but my friend told me it is much needed to provide more texture to the meal.
Overall, this congee is absolutely worth trying as I have never seen a meal like it, and was only 40K for a portion.
