I have dined at a handful of restaurants across the world (feel free to explore my profile), from all price points, and this has to be my worst experience I have had to date. I arrived at around 7:30pm for dinner with 6 others. We sat down and placed orders for some drinks and appetizers. They came out in about 20min, reasonable time. The portion for the vegetable spring rolls were extremely small. I’d say the entire plate contained about 2 regular size rolls cut into 6 small pieces. The red chili chicken dish was alright. Following the appetizers, our waiter then proceeded to take our menus which I found very strange, almost as if they thought we were done eating and ready for the bill. It then took another 45 minutes for another waiter to give us a menu, and when we asked she looked grumpy and unhappy to help us. All this time no waiter has came anywhere close to our table to refill our water cups (we ordered hot water). We finally placed the order for our main dishes with a completely new waiter, and the food took about 30 more minutes to arrive. We ordered a vegetable curry, chicken noodle dish, and a pepper chicken fry. Additionally, we were forced to order a bowl of fried rice as our waiter informed us the curry won’t come with any rice, which is something I have never heard before at any Thai/Chinese restaurant I’ve been to. Additionally, me and another person in my party went to their self service noodle station, and made 2 bowls. 1 of the bowls was successfully delivered to our table, however the second bowl I never saw again. I have no clue what happened to it, but the last time I saw it was when I turned it in to the chef to cook and it never got delivered to my table upon completion. Just another example of poor management and operations. All of the food was extremely disappointing for the price point. This restaurant was casually charging inr 600+ for a lot of the meals, and the portion compared to quality is not good. This, on top of an extremely slow and unprofessional service is unacceptable. There was also a very large group of customers who were constantly yelling and talking loud, which was extremely disruptive and inappropriate for a fine dining restaurant like this. Security did absolutely nothing to mitigate the behavior of these customers as well. My group sat down at around 7:30pm, and we walked out at close to 10:15pm. Being at a restaurant for almost 3 hours for dinner is not something that should be considered normal, and I am highly disappointed with my entire experience. If there is anyone from the Chap Chay or Raintree hotel public relations team reading this, I’d appreciate if you could contact me privately for a more in depth discussion regarding my experiences.

Beautiful restaurant interiors with a unique concept. Appetisers like the crispy corn in rice paper, Schezwan vegetable dumpling, and lotus stem were scrumptious. For my first bowl, I tried the normal noodles, capsicum, and corn sautéed with the Kung Pao sauce. It was quite tasty! For my second bowl, I tried the rice noodles, corn, and capscium sautéed with the Sweet Chilli Garlic sauce and Lemon Butter. It was amazing! Great blend of sweet and spicy. The Fried Ice Cream was fabulous! Though a whole plate of it can get a bit too sweet. Servers were very helpful and polite.

Bon Appetite

DIY salads with the option of adding sautéed noodles and other veggies. The concept is pretty simple if you like experimenting. If unsure they provide a list of combinations to consider. The quick service, soothing lighting and great ambience make it a must visit experience.

we went for stir fry buffet which 1500 inclusive of tax on weekday(no soup, starter and dessert ) only live counter service was very good and place is well lit and seats are fairly comfortable. The food and service was great. The complimentary starters included bbq pineapple and carrot sticks with good dipping sauce. It had huge section of vegetable and but disappointed with non veg-section only mutton chicken fish and small prawn. Sauce selection had huge variety pair with meat and vegetable, food is always hot since buffet Only contain live counter. Sunday brunch will cost 2000 + tax (contain everything that is not available in weekdays) Buffet is priced fairly, but only disappointed with non veg-section which can include pork duck etc We can go once and while and feel Sunday brunch will be worth more that weekday buffet

Utterly Appalling – A Disgrace to a 5-Star Reputation. I am writing this review with immense disappointment and indignation following what was meant to be a refined dining experience at this highly-rated, so-called luxury establishment. One does not anticipate encountering such a revolting ordeal in a place that markets itself as a paragon of five-star excellence. Whilst enjoying my soup, to my absolute horror, I discovered a cockroach crawling on the table. In an environment that boasts of premium standards and flawless hygiene, this is not only unacceptable—it is downright revolting. What shocked me even more was the sheer apathy exhibited by the restaurant staff. Not a single person took any meaningful action or displayed the slightest sense of urgency or responsibility. Their lackadaisical attitude in the face of such a serious hygiene breach was, quite frankly, insulting. As I was making my way out through the lobby, Mr. Mohan Raj, the Director of Food and Beverage, personally approached me. He had been informed of the situation and took the time to extend his sincere apologies, further explaining that the hotel was addressing a pest control issue. While I commend Mr. Raj’s professionalism and courtesy, it does not excuse the complete inaction and disregard shown by the restaurant staff at the time of the incident. Let me be perfectly clear: “When one chooses to dine at a five-star establishment, one expects a standard of service and cleanliness that is nothing short of impeccable. To be served soup alongside a cockroach is both appalling and unforgivable.” This experience has left me disillusioned and thoroughly disgusted. I entered with high expectations and left with nothing but disappointment and anger. For those considering a visit—I implore you to reconsider. Prestige and polish mean nothing if basic hygiene is not upheld.

Exceptional dining experience! starters are a treat, bursting out with flavors and offering a wide variety to choose from. Service is impressively quick, and they have DIY option for the main course adds a fun and interactive element to the meal. interiors are pleasant and inviting, complemented by courteous and attentive staff. It’s undoubtedly one of the best choices for a weekend brunch. Highly recommended!

I recently visited this restaurant for dinner during a weekend, and it was quite an experience. The atmosphere is truly impressive, as one would expect from a five-star establishment. The elegant décor and soothing ambiance immediately set the tone for a memorable dining experience. The service was impeccable, with attentive and courteous staff who ensured that every need was met promptly. The food quality was excellent overall, with each dish offering rich and authentic flavors. We started with appetizers, which included peppery chicken, Thai basil fish fry, prawn, and dim sum with sauce—all of which were flavorful and well-prepared. The sweet corn soup was warm and comforting, perfect for setting the tone for the rest of the meal. For the mains, we ordered fried rice and Hakka noodles. Both were delicious, but they are best enjoyed with side dishes to enhance the flavors. The desserts, however, were on another level altogether—beautifully presented and irresistibly tasty, leaving us thoroughly impressed. That said, I am deducting one star for two reasons. Firstly, there was an overuse of oil in the appetizers, which made some of them feel a bit heavy. Secondly, the fish had a strong smell, which might not appeal to everyone. Despite this, the kids loved the food and had a fantastic time. Overall, it’s a great place for a special evening out!
