We visited Raintree Chap Chay for Sunday brunch and had a very disappointing experience. The manager seemed completely disconnected and uninterested in the service. The food quality has dropped drastically compared to what this place was known for earlier. The live kitchen also looked quite unhygienic, which was very concerning. It seems like the management is no longer focused on maintaining quality or service standards. Unfortunately, this place is no longer worth the money. Better to avoid.

Exceptional dining experience! starters are a treat, bursting out with flavors and offering a wide variety to choose from. Service is impressively quick, and they have DIY option for the main course adds a fun and interactive element to the meal. interiors are pleasant and inviting, complemented by courteous and attentive staff. It’s undoubtedly one of the best choices for a weekend brunch. Highly recommended!

DIY salads with the option of adding sautéed noodles and other veggies. The concept is pretty simple if you like experimenting. If unsure they provide a list of combinations to consider. The quick service, soothing lighting and great ambience make it a must visit experience.

I recently visited this restaurant for dinner during a weekend, and it was quite an experience. The atmosphere is truly impressive, as one would expect from a five-star establishment. The elegant décor and soothing ambiance immediately set the tone for a memorable dining experience. The service was impeccable, with attentive and courteous staff who ensured that every need was met promptly. The food quality was excellent overall, with each dish offering rich and authentic flavors. We started with appetizers, which included peppery chicken, Thai basil fish fry, prawn, and dim sum with sauce—all of which were flavorful and well-prepared. The sweet corn soup was warm and comforting, perfect for setting the tone for the rest of the meal. For the mains, we ordered fried rice and Hakka noodles. Both were delicious, but they are best enjoyed with side dishes to enhance the flavors. The desserts, however, were on another level altogether—beautifully presented and irresistibly tasty, leaving us thoroughly impressed. That said, I am deducting one star for two reasons. Firstly, there was an overuse of oil in the appetizers, which made some of them feel a bit heavy. Secondly, the fish had a strong smell, which might not appeal to everyone. Despite this, the kids loved the food and had a fantastic time. Overall, it’s a great place for a special evening out!

I have been to this place many times … I wanted to bring my family here sometime and today we came for lunch. As usual, the food was awesome and the silent and professional atmosphere takes all the stress away. I met the chief and greeted for the authentic taste.. they are very humble and servicing very nicely… price is costly as per the star hotel range but it’s completely worthy for the money … you will have nice time there with family

We tried the brunch menu at Chap Chay, Raintree Alwarpet, and it was absolutely worth it! The variety was spot on, starting with comforting soups like the Manchow Chicken and Clear Veg, followed by refreshing salads and appetizers like the crispy Lamb Salad and Kung Pao Prawns, which were packed with flavor. The dim sum selection was a delight—perfectly steamed with great filling options like Chicken Siu Mai and Lotus & Chestnut. The live stir-fry counter was the highlight—you could customize your own mix of veggies, noodles, and meats, and the sauces added an amazing burst of flavors! A special mention to staff member Binita, who served us with incredible care and literally provided thunderbolt service, making sure every detail was perfect. Finally, the desserts, especially the Banana Toffee with Mango Ice Cream, ended the meal on a sweet and satisfying note. Every dish was full of flavor, and the overall experience was wholesome and enjoyable. Perfect spot for a relaxing family Sunday brunch!

Located in the posh St. Mary's road, the property is fairly new and well maintained. Chap Chay is located in the basement of the hotel . As you enter the hotel you encounter a cute and compact lobby. The basement is well maintained and decorated tastefully on the lines of a Chinese style. They have both Buffet and ala carte lunch. The starters were exotic and delicious. You can mix your own style of bowl and the chef is ever willing. Kids and young adults will love to experience the same. Service is excellent and the floor manager Arindam makes the experience all the more memorable. The menu is is multi cuisine and spread well. Be prepared to shell out more due to all the above factors.

The appetizer which was served was really excellent, the garlic fritters melted right away in our mouth and it was crispy in texture as well and the pineapple topped with sweet chilli sauce has really great flavour and the veggies (carrot , cucumber) had a great and different flavour with the tamarind dip that was offered. Tom yum Soup chicken was spicy and had great flavour as well. Hakka Wok Tossed chilli garlic Noodles was light and had a remarkable taste and sufficient portion for 2 people. The side that we ordered for this was Cantonese Style chicken which was bit bland and didn’t go well with the noodles as we prefer more of spicy 🌶️ food. The second time we tried Koi Toy Thai noodles with Hunan Fish as the side dish and it was a great combination. Even the Schezwan Sour & Spicy soup had a great taste and was spicy as well. The hakka wok tossed noodles went so well with fish in spicy pineapple. The flavouring of the fish in spicy pineapple was so good the flavouring was excellent.
