Chapa Farmstay - Mountain Retreat

I met many friendly people in Vietnam, but this family is truly exceptional. The farmstay combines a family atmosphere, tremendous hospitality, fantastic views of the valley and the beautiful landscape, and super cozy bungalows made of wood and bamboo. Everything is stylishly furnished in a rural style, perfectly clean, and very well maintained. The view of the mountains from the bed is unbeatable. It's how you always want to wake up. The food is delicious and always freshly prepared at home. Much of it comes from their own garden and farm. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. I'd love to come back. The farmstay is also located right on one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the region, so you can easily set off on short and long tours in the mountains.

We were looking for a quiet weekend getaway to relax and be in nature..Chapa Farmstay was the perfect choice. Our room was simple, but clean, homey, and had everything we needed. The view from the big window/balcony was our favorite part - nothing like waking up to that view! We loved that it's located away from the hustle and bustle of Sapa town and gave very easy access to do a day trek! Highly recommend!

My partner and our 2 year old toddler loved our short stay at Chapa Farmstay. We only had time for one night with a day either side as we took the night train from Hanoi and back. Stay for much longer if you can. They generously allowed us to check-in to our room upon arriving at 9am. We accepted their offer to arrange pick up from Lao Cai, which was a good idea and fair price. The view is idyllic and peaceful. Lying in bed with the balcony door open listening to, and watching the rain fall in the verdant valley was a favorite memory. The rooms are humble but with modern facilities. I appreciated that they use natural materials and no plastic, including reusable glass water bottles filled from a high quality filter. The food was delicious. Their small children are angels and our toddler would have played with them the whole time, if he could. They also helped us with a motorbike ride to collect some clothes we had made by some Hmong women down the hill. You can walk right out the door and start trekking. Generous and kind people.

We stayed two nights at Chapa Farmstay and everything was perfect. The rooms are super nice and all have a nice view. The hotel is very calm, being a little bit remote from the busy town of Sapa (20 min with Grab). The owners are very friendly and the food is good. It is one of the best hotel of our stay in Vietnam, one I will book again if I come back in the region.

We had an amazing stay at Chapa farmstay. Although the rooms are simple, they are beautiful and very cosy. Everything necessary is available and the bathroom was very clean. The view is amazing, as is the quality and taste of the food (breakfast and dinner). Chee Mee and his lovely family were very kind, funny and happy to help at any time. They helped us with booking our night train from Hanoi to Sa Pa and back. Due to a serious insect bite on her foot, my partner could not complete a full trek. They were happy to accommodate a day trek to our needs to a shorter distance. Our motorbike tour included a visit to the medicinal baths as the views were not great due to a vert misty day. We enjoyed joining the family in an evening of Batik and created our own designs which they dyed the next day. The farmstay is however located a bit further out if the city, so we recommend to accept the train station pickup that Chee Mee proposed upfront, as taking the bus to Sa Pa might then require a couple of kilometers on foot with luggage, or an extra taxi to arrive.

I had the opportunity to stay 4 nights at the Chapa Farmstay Mountain Retreat and it was a super wonderful experience. If you prefer out of the city where you want peace and quiet… this is your next adventure. Meals can be purchased at very reasonable prices. The two ladies that prepare the meals make sure you won’t go away hungry. The meals are made according to local culture and are very delicious!!|I will definitely be staying with them again in the future.

We had a very nice stay. The manager and her family are very welcoming, the bungalows are beautiful and the location is stunning (and very calm). We highly recommend the dinner and breakfast!

We stayed in Chapa Farmstay for three nights and enjoyed it so much! Beginning with our arrival — we arrived extremely early, at 6 am, by overnight bus and they allowed Ilya to check in at such an early hour! We were so happy and could finally get a few hours of sleep (the night bus drives over a pretty bumpy road so we didn’t sleep at all). The location is amazing! One of the hiking paths goes directly through, which we enjoyed a lot. The views from the window were directly at rice terraces. Rooms are spacious and cozy. Breakfasts were very fresh and delicious. Finally, they are a big lovely family, who helped us with everything we were asking for. I can easily recommend this place! The experience was top-notch!
