Chapati & Karak Cafe

I had the best chapati I have eaten in Doha in a mall style setting at Katara Cultural Village, and honestly it does not surprise me that this place is always full of people. I stopped here while exploring Katara, which is a beautiful area and definitely worth visiting, even though I did not even have time to take photos of the chapatis because I was way too hungry. I tried the egg chapati and the Nutella one and both were absolutely amazing, very well prepared, not greasy at all and full of flavor. The cheese and honey chapati was also good, but the egg and Nutella ones were on another level. The karak tea here is excellent, but the karak shake is something else, easily the perfect milkshake if you want to try something different and indulgent. One thing to keep in mind is that during the day there are quite a lot of flies, which can be a bit annoying, but the food really makes up for it. Everything was fresh, comforting and done right. Chapati & Karak Cafe by name serve Chapati which is a thin bread ordered either plain or with cheese, and Karak which is tea with milk. Traditional chairs or benches. The workers dress beautiful uniforms. The service is fast, the price is good and the food is tasty.

Vibe is great. I prefer chai without sugar. However it was very sugary. Probably I should had specifically mentioned it. (On me). The chapati was neat - I ordered cheese & honey.

Old paratha with an omelet stuck to it, trying to look fresh but honestly just a waste of money. You can take a picture for Instagram, but you can’t eat it. For the price they charge, at least serve good food. When people hear the name Karak, they expect quality — but this was a big disappointment

I was on a business trip with just one night layover in Doha, and a good friend of mine (who’s been living there professionally for a while) insisted on taking me out for a late-night supper. Honestly, I was still full from dinner — but he swore this place was unmissable, so I gave in. And thank goodness I did! We went to Chapati & Karak Cafe, and I was immediately impressed — they even have a drive-through service, which is not something you see often for a café-style setup. We ordered their signature chai tea and something I can’t quite name, but it looked like a rolled chapati with a sweet twist. One bite, one sip — and wow. Absolutely delicious. The tea was rich, aromatic, and comforting, and the chapati-like treat had that perfect balance of texture and sweetness. It's one of those places you’d regret skipping. Cozy, casual, and full of flavor. Next time I’m in Doha, I’m definitely bringing my family here — this gem deserves more than just a quick stop. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a true taste of local favorites!

A pleasant touch of Qatari culture in the Doha airport. Located in the souk just past C12. Karak is an aromatic masala chai famous in Qatar. The atmosphere is quiet and service was pleasant. When we visited they were busy so allow some time. We tried chicken and kheema along with one sweet chapati with chocolate and honey. All were delicious. If you stay in the airport but would like a little taste of Qatar this is the place.

In the Katara Cultural Village, there’s a small, cozy shop where you place your order at a little booth and wait while sitting in the open area. If there’s a light breeze, it’s very pleasant to sit here. We tried many different varieties, and the cheesy chapati became our favorite. If you’re looking for an affordable snack spot, this is a great option.
