Chapel of the Sacred Heart

I absolutely love this church!! I’ve been to Grand Teton many times before and I always try to stop here to look at this church. I’ve never been to Mass in this church but I bet it’s awesome when it’s in season! There’s a little picnic area close to the church where I’ve stopped as well. It’s neat! The doors were still open in October when I went.

It is a beautiful chapel in the woods with an amazing view of the lake. There is a short trail that takes you straight to the lake. They do still hold mass there every Sunday for the summer. There is also beautiful stained glass. They do ask that the doors be kept closed because bats go into the chapel.

My wife and I stumbled upon this church as it happened the same day we visited the Transfiguration Church in the Tetons as well. This church is very beautiful. It overlooks one of the lakes and has a very peaceful feel to it. I love the stained glass window there at the pulpit. The Church still does mass and can be reserved for ceremonies such as weddings. Great place to stop if you are passing by, but I wouldn't make a detour just to see it, if I'm being honest.

Beautiful, active, wooden Church tucked in the forest with an awesome view of Jackson Lake and mountains. A must visit while in the Teton loop. Sing Amazing Grace as we did say a prayer of thanks and to the Lord Jesus for His Father's creation and grace.

Found this lil church while on a journey and drive through the Grand Teton National Park and it over looks the signal lake and has amazing and beautiful views!

Chapel of the Sacred Heart is located within beautiful Grand Teton National Park on the south shore of Jackson Lake. The Chapel is located a half mile north of Signal Mountain Lodge and a half mile south of the Jackson Lake dam. Built in the 1930s, but has been remodeled. Rustic log structure in the pine trees. Hidden Catholic Church gem!
