Chapelaria Azevedo Rua

Made a visit to Chapelaria after looking in a number of hat stores, where I really wanted a hat from Portugal. Upon arrived I found the woman to be somewhat rude, haughty even. She was serving me, then a guy came in and she all of a sudden paid attention to him. I ended up picking a hat out that I wanted and made the transaction. If we weren’t tired of looking, would have left the store. Her overall service was pretty low. The two stars is for the hat, taking three away because of her service. She’s the chubby one that loves herself so much. She’s posted so many photos of herself. To a point where she even wrote a review about the shop!!😂

Family owned business, run and managed by several generations of women. Great selection of hats and caps for all occasions. I bought myself 3 sailor's caps, very good quality, fit, and reasonably priced. The ladies were very helpful and kind.

Traditional hat store. Glad we stopped in. Good service and guidance. Not your touristy stuff. Real hats. Tried a few, bought 1, they know their stuff.

Nice shop with great hats and some other accessories. It's located in a touristy area but does not give off a touristy vibe; it's got a historic feel and the shop owners were very kind and helpful. A great place in Lisbon to get a unique souvenir.

the worst choice of hat and cap shop in lisbon. unprofessional and rude. the landlady pretends she doesn't know English when someone comes to complain about the purchased goods. I bought a hat that completely changed its color and texture after 3 days, and they didn't want to replace it or give me my money back. shop to avoid in lisbon. all the worst.

Great shop, lovely selection of hats, lovely helpful staff, gave me choices of same style at different price points, very honest and helpful (in the end no point skimping on a decent Panama though!).

I was in Lisbon in Sept 2016 and saw all the beautiful hats. I have numerous cheap hats I have picked up over the years. They really never fit properly. Since my hair has also grown out, no hair cut since 2015 none fit properly now. So I'm back now in March 2019 & I had to find a hat. I had a hard time picking between the topper (Top hat), derby (Bowler) or Fedora. If I was returning to the states I would have gotten all three (3). Went with the Fedora.

I looove hats! So I was really excited to come here to look for a chic straw hat. The older lady who worked there either didn't know much about hats (sizing) or didn't care. I told her what I was looking for and it was only after more serious prodding that she pulled out some apathetic options. As I put on various hats, I said, "This doesn't fit" and would twist it from side-to-side showing her that it was loose. She never demonstrated any professionalism in terms of fit, material, different shapes, suggestions, etc. Selection wasn't great and neither was the service.

I thought this would be an old world store with craftsmanship. I was wrong. The older woman there was really rude. It was like she hated customers. I bought a panama hat, and she acted like it was a chore to ring me up. I wish I had just left.

As all comments, I was disappointed a lot with the customer service especially the old lady who was very arrogant!

Cheap Hats, Rude Staff. I was very excited to visit Lisbons oldest hat store but left disappointed. I expected at least to see some beautiful craftsmanship. I did not. This is a store that has probably survived selling mediocre hats to tourists. It was nothing like any of the Parisian or Amerocan Hat shops. Among their offerings were some imported German hats and Stetsons, the American Brand that Europeans seem to think is luxury. I tried to try on one of the in house hats, which were nothing special and opened up the case, all of the hats are behind a case, maybe keeping cheap hats behind glass makes people feel like they are expensive. And the rude store worker shooed me away and grabbed the hat to place it back. I was very disappointed by the experience.
