I’ve had four haircuts at this salon, and unfortunately, the results are inconsistent and unreliable. My usual haircut is a bob with a slight graduation at the back and slightly longer at the front. I have had this exact haircut many times before, with multiple stylists in different countries, and it has always turned out well. Here, I got a decent haircut only once - hence 2 stars.
First visit: I showed reference photos, including examples of my previous good and bad haircuts. To avoid misunderstanding and misuse of terminology, I showed a video of what I mean by graduation. The stylist was polite but she dismissed my usual style, claiming it wasn’t suitable for my hair type, and suggested a dry cut with thinning instead of graduation. The result was not what I wanted, though not a disaster. I didn’t give up because I understand every stylist works differently.
Second visit: The haircut turned out really well. I explained that the previous time the back looked longer than the front and the ends flipped out. This time, the stylist corrected the angle and length, and the haircut behaved well with minimal styling. I was happy and thought I’d found a reliable salon.
Third visit: I asked for the same haircut as the previous time, but the stylist used a completely different technique and shape. They styled it with hot tools, so the true result wasn’t visible immediately. After washing and styling normally, the front ended up massively shorter than the back, and the ends flipped out badly.
Communication for correction: I had to travel shortly afterwards and couldn’t come in immediately. Online bookings require pre-payment, and I didn’t think I should pay for the stylist’s mistake, so I emailed the manager explaining the situation, gave several possible time slots, and asked about the pricing policy. They responded with a booking for a completely different day/time and ignored my question about pricing. I had to send another email to correct the appointment; they changed the time, but again ignored my question about pricing.
Fourth visit (correction): The stylist used a technique similar to the successful second haircut and said, “let’s try to angle it at the back and keep the front longer at the front next time” - which was actually my request all along. In an attempt to even everything out, the stylist removed even more length at the front and did a lot of scary-feeling thinning. I had to ask them to stop because the cut started turning into a bixie. The final result is very short, uneven (back longer on one side), not the shape I wanted, and I was charged for it. Again, while the stylist was polite and justified her choices, the effect was not what she claimed it would be.
Overall, the haircuts are inconsistent, the communication is poor, and the salon failed to address repeated concerns properly. Management, please do not claim I failed to seek a reasonable resolution - I emailed clearly, twice, and my questions were ignored.
Verdict: I will not be coming back and I do not recommend this salon.
