Polite and helpful staff at reception, they have a selection of board games and a community pantry if I recall correctly. Such a nice place to have locally. Lovely selection of food and drink throughout the day and a calm environment when I visited. Had their flat white and their passion and coconut cake. Moist and fruity cake. Absolutely no notes. Delicious. Coffee was much nicer than the stuff you get at a big coffee chain spot thanks to them using Hard Line Coffee, a local roaster, as their bean supplier. I will be sure to come back to try the cinema soon :)

I've attended a few screenings and Q&As here, and they're always very well organised and fun to attend. The venue is well presented and clean, and the staff are lovely.

Very underused in comparison to it's past. Chapter is a great place to meet and move on. It is also very good for parents with kids during the day. The toilets are clean. The bar is traditionaly slow for service. Coffee purchase wait time is lenghty, can take 10 mins to get back to your company. The Cinemas have an excellent selection of programming dealt with by the front desk team and the food looks nice. Study rooms and private room hire available. Table Top Gaming afternoons etc...

Nice place and nice food but quite expensive considering its a student feel. I wasn't too hungry and fancied some chips with a couple of pieces of bread and butter to make a chip sandwich. £5 for chips - ouch! £12 for the bread and butter - DOUBLE OUCH!!! That's £17 for a chip butty 😳 I'm not making that price up. When challenged over the price the manager reduced it to £7 for the two pieces of bread and butter. So generous.

Came along for an MS meet up, never been here before, it's so big and airy and has a really nice vibe to the place. I wouldn't mind trying out the cinema and coffee.

This place is fantastic for a coffee or a beer, and, of course, it has an amazing cinema that screens films beyond the usual mainstream selections. I had the opportunity to watch "I'm Still Here" on its UK premiere date, and it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended

We saw Under Milkwood at Chapter this week and thoroughly enjoyed it! It's such a great venue In the heart of the community, with such fabulous productions.

I love this place i’ve been coming here for years, its a cool space place to hang out for a drink, see a film or meet up with friends. The Cafe is great for all times of the day, they do an amazing Sunday Lunch, the veggie roast really hits the spot. Ample free parking with an overflow car park available after 6pm and on weekends. Beer garden is also a bonus for the summer months.

Yelp
Everyman are an ammeter dramatic theatre group who put on some fantastic open air plays in the grounds of the Folk Museum every summer. They generally put on three or four shows, always one aimed at young children such as Wind and the Willows, and of course one by the bard himself Shakespeare. A performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream in recent years was particularly memorable, the outdoor setting being absolutely perfect for the forest scenes. Of course there is a downside to staging the plays outdoors, whilst on a warm summers evening the experience is fantastic, on a rainy day the open air stage is disastrous, with both the performers and audiences spirit (and person) being rather dampened, though thankfully the audience are under cover, for the most part.

Yelp
Everyman Theatre Group is, to put it simply, the biggest amateur dramatics society in Cardiff. Being responsible for the famous summer Shakespeare show at St. Fagin's each year, and the nearly all the local output from Chapter Arts Centre's theatrical arm, the company is a constant source of entertainment and intellectual stimulation for the city. Their output routinely consists of avant-garde pieces, both classical and updated Shakespeare plays, musicals and comedies, ensuring that the company always contains players of consummate skill, and ensuring the company rarely repeats itself. At intermittent Wednesdays, Chapter hosts the interesting "Everyman Club Night" where company members, potential patrons and everyday members of the public are able to sit in on a small performance of a pending piece and witness the director's burgeoning ideas before they come to fruition. It's an interesting experience, being packed into a room that fits maybe thirty people at a stretch, watching actors literally three feet away from you, and provides a wonderful sense of involvement to see the director's vision come to the stage several months later. There is, however, a vein of elitism within the company; a degree of snobbishness that can sometimes rear up. Luckily, this is usually quelled before it can cause any real harm to the company's image.

Yelp
The Everyman Theatre Cardiff is probably the city's most active amateur theatre companies, and we have it partly to thank for the existence of Chapter Arts Centre in Canton (because back in the 1970s, the theatre was instrumental in its opening). You'll often catch Everyman productions at Chapter Arts Centre - for example 'The Crucible' is due to be performed there in November 2010, 'The Hypochondriac' in March 2011, 'Loot' in May 2011, and 'Good' in November 2011. The productions are generally well polished and really varied in their subject matter. If you fancy joining the theatre yourself, the best way to get started is to go along to one of their free regular Club Nights (Wednesday evenings at Chapter Arts Centre), when there's a mixed programme of theatrical activities in an informal environment. You can find out more about productions or joining Everyman at their website.
