Husband had the grilled fish tacos said they were amazing. I had the Americano beef tacos. The beef was a bit dry but excellent flavor. Pretty chill atmosphere and very busy at lunch. It was our first time here and we will back when in the area.

So delicious and they have options for gluten free and dairy free options! It smelled so good and the atmosphere is very authentic! (The salsa is indeed spicy) they also have quite a bit of seating area!

We rolled up on this place and I was nervous but allegedly the best food in town. When I saw a restaurant attached to a gas station, yes I judge the cover before I read the book 🤣 Chapulines Mexican was DELICIOUS!!!!! We will stop by here every visit! Very industrial cozy inside, ample seating and I say that because they need a bigger space, lines were firming out the door. Maybe 15-20 booths. You order and pay at counter and they deliver to table. Tacos, burritos, bowls. There’s a condiment bar that’s funny explore. Fresh guac was off the hook. Mexican Bert’s and sodas. Pepsi products.

This place is amazing. Everything about it is on point. The prices are great, the portions are big and the food is authentic and delicious. The staff is nice and the food is made fresh. Highly recommend this for anyone searching for some authentic Mexican food. My wife and I go here all the time. We still love it

If you want a delicious street taco come to Los Chapulines!! The corn tortillas were fresh, the asada meat was on point, the al pastor was yummy and the fish taco sauce was outstanding! Can I mention the most amazing horchata!? Once you you eat at Los Chapulines you will be thinking about when to return!

This place was awesome. Betty was fantastic at taking our order, but especially helping me decide since it was my first time here. I took my mom for her birthday. Mom ordered the ACP rice bowl and I got the Al Pastor and the El Campechano along with a side of rice. We were blessed with chips and cheese as well. The food was amazing. We arrived at 1, and there was only one booth available. It is on the side of a gas station, but when you have traveled America, we have had to go thru a casino to get to the restaurant before, so it didn't bother me one bit. Again, give Betty a raise. She was awesome!!!

Always satisfied with anything we order from here. Now I personally have a thing for shrimp tacos. Anywhere I go that serves them I will try them. The Shrimp Blt Tacos on a corn tortilla (I also get the green mild sauce to top it off) they have has by far impressed me the most. Definitely need to try this place if you haven't yet 👌👌👌

The chips & salsa are awesome! Carne asada tacos were great! They used the right cut of meat, marinated, and delicious! Wifey had the rice bowl and loved it as well. Go here and get your taco time on!

Loved my carnitas taco, but the al pastor was amazing. Everything is so fresh, and I love that you can try different toppings from the salsa and pico bar. Being able to choose flour or corn tortillas is a bonus.

A conveniently located taco place off of old Knoxville Highway great tacos and rice bowls . The food is good size portions. The price is reasonable. Always busy but quick service at lunch.

Stopped here on way back from airport. Wow! Great tacos! I got the carnitas and the campechano. Both were excellent. My wife got the campechano bowl - also excellent. Highly recommend!

I love this place, they under promise and over deliver on food every time. I'm a regular here and love it. My only complaint is that it's winter time and they should only allow one door to be used, the one facing the gas pumps. Close the back door so that everyone doesn't get frozen out.

Soooo delicious! When one of your party drops a forkful and immediately blurts out, "It's on my leg! Still edible!" you know you're in the right place. Clean, quick, friendly, fresh ingredients, reasonable prices for good portions: Chapuline's checks all the boxes. Don't let the fact that it's attached to a gas station scare you off. You will not be sorry you went in. I promise that you'll be planning your next visit before you leave the parking lot.

As soon as the cashier saw us lingering on the menu board, he asked if it was our first time ordering. When we said it was, he proceeded to patiently give us a complete overview and recommendations from the menu. I liked the alacarte menu. The prices and portions were spot on too. I had a fried shrimp and carnitas taco and a Corona beer. (They only have Mexican selections). My wife and I shared a side of street corn. It was definitely large enough to share. All the food is cooked fresh to order. They have a huge menu for a small place. There's a salsa bar to dress your food as you wish. One more thing. When the cashier saw us wiping our table, he came by and cleaned it.

Without a doubt, this is the best Mexican food in all of Maryville! I recommend the ACP. It will knock your socks off!

If you're looking for vegan options, the rice is not vegan as it's made with animal broth. The cashier checked about the beans and both the black beans and pinto beans are not made with animal products so they are vegan friendly. The vegan options consist of fajita style onions and green bell peppers on a taco or in a burrito with a slice of avocado. We opted for one taco with black beans and one with pinto beans. We also ordered the chips and guacamole. The chips and guacamole were very good. The tacos were not to our liking and we only ate about half of each one. The flavor was heavy and dense and didn't complement the mix of ingredients very well. It's a very fast casual, order at the counter restaurant.

First off you got to know this is not a fine dining restaurant, it's connected to a gas station so if you go there expecting more you'll be disappointed. I'd like to give them a 3.5 star but this app won't let you. I don't quite think they were bad but not really a 4 star. I ordered a steak street taco, some rice, pinto beans and street corn. I ordered to go and they didn't include all I ordered so they lose a star for that. The food I did get was ok, it's definitely a huge step up from Taco Bell, but it does seem like fast food. The chips & salsa were good, the rice also was good, the street taco was good but needed some additional spicing up. I'd like to go back and try the fajitas or a chimichanga and add some additional veggies to make more of a decision. You order at the cashier, it was delivered quickly, they seem nice but not overly outgoing. Bottom line, I'd like to try it one more time but it wouldn't be a restaurant I would make a habit of going to. I decided to try this place again, and it was outstanding, everything was a great flavor and they were super nice. Can't say enough about how ordering the right thing makes a big difference! I will for sure go back, also you have GOT to try the churros!!!

The food was horrible, the meat on the tacos was severely burnt. I noticed orders coming out looked really burnt, someone needs to learn to cook. YUCKO

We are from Bakersfield California and have struggled finding a good place for quick Mexican food. This place is ligit!! Salsa bar with a great selection. Their meat is quality. Tender and not grisly. The workers are friendly and the place is clean. It shares a building with a gas station but it is completely separate.

The food was great and the service was great. The salsa bar was good as well. Will be back again - we have been twice so far. The bowls are big enough to share. I let the cashier choose my tacos for me and the 3 I got we so going.

Easily my favorite restaurant in town. I'd put their food up against any other legitimate street taco/mexican cuisine I've tried in my travels.

Soooooo good . . . Fish Baja tacos and shrimp BLT taco. Child and salsa were excellent. Great self-serve sauce bar with pico, cilantro, and various sauces of spiciness. Order at the counter and take a seat. Service was quick and accurate. Ambiance was typical for a popular taco bar; tight and busy, but we got a table.

Chapuline's is the perfect spot when you need a quick Mexican food fix. Great staff and delicious choices. They have a great choice of sauces as well as fresh limes and pico de Gallo. Their guacamole and queso is very good too.

This place is a cute place. We were greeted fast, and friendly. The tacos we ordered were amazing!! I ordered 3 different ones. The burrito was huge. The chips, salsa and queso was soo good !. There was a Salsa bar, that had 3 or 4 different salsas , onions, salatro, and Pico. All the food was really good This is a must try place..

Their food always tastes amazing and feels like real food. Never have to wait too long for our food. Great music is always playing, varies from salsa to mariachi to cumbia. Always love coming here.

Fantastic service. Quick and with a smile. Reasonable prices for authentic and varied taco goodness. I have many favorites, but after 5 visits, I haven't even tried the while menu! Worth it, don't pass this by.

Food is amazing. Very close to authentic and that's what I love!!! But don't come during lunch or dinner rush as seating is very limited.

My husband is from Phoenix Arizona, and he is accustomed to very the best when it comes to Mexican food. We are in love with this place. Honestly we cannot speak highly of it. Prices are very good, staff is amazing. And they give you plenty of queso :-)

Place is located at the end of a gas station. The folks I work with nicknamed it "gas station tacos". The first time they said that I was a bit hesitant. Let me tell you don't let the location throw you off. This place is awesome! The line at lunch is out the door. Parking can be a little challenging as they do share the lot with the gas station. They only have indoor seating with out 12 4 person booths and a bar top that 4 people can sit at. I have had tacos and the fajita bowl and all have been excellent. I have been here about 10 times and never had a bad meal. Great staff, clean restaurant and reasonable prices. Definitely give them a try you won't regret it.

The line at the door was a good sign that we'd be eating good! We ordered to-go for lunch today and everyone was happy with their food. I tried the a fish taco and a chicken taco. Both were great, but the fish taco was my favorite. The rest of my group tried a variety of tacos and rice bowls...everything was great! We'll definitely keep coming back for the great food and the great value.

Ok guys, my husband and I are originally from central CA. We have been on the hunt for traditional Mexican food, street tacos specifically. Well I can honestly say we have found it. This was amazing. We tried the pork belly tacos , and the steak "asada" tacos. Oh my gosh! This were so good. We also ordered beans and rice. This is the most traditional Mexican food we have found since moving to TN over 2 years ago. The street tacos are amazing I will definitely be back. The servers were very nice. Ambiance was simple and basic. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. I will be back very soon

I'll start by saying, you have to check out Chapulines if you love street tacos, quality food, nice people and a free salsa bar! They know what they're doing and everything is delish and fresh. It's my favorite taco joint in knox! They have 3 locations now, so there's no excuse not to make a trip.

Best tacos in East Tennessee. Salsa varieties are all delicious. Torta milanesa blew my mind. Tres leches will be the death of me.

Great selection had way more choices than I was expecting. Had a fish, shrimp and barbacoa taco all were very good. Friendly girl at the counter taking order and food came out quickly. Not a fancy place but they delivered good food at a decent price.

Best tacos in town! Love the ambiance ! Every time I'm there I feel like I'm home! The workers are all so sweet and hard working people! Service is always a 10/10 I've been eating here for over 6yrs!

Never in my life thought I would be eating fish tacos from a Mexican restaurant. The Baja Fish tacos are the best ever! Food is out quick and staff is always friendly

It took me a while to get someone to go with me to try Chapuline's because it's attached to the Exxon gas station but I finally convinced a friend to join me - and it was a very pleasant and delicious surprise. The service was very friendly and they took the time to help us understand their menu. The prices are very reasonable (under $4 per taco) and the variety is wonderful from chicken, steak, seafood and beyond. They offer 5 varieties of Mexican beers (but sorry, no margaritas.) My friend very much enjoyed the vegetarian burrito and it was a size to match Chipotle's. They have a nice salsa bar so you can sample different flavors - or dip your tongue in a spicy salsa sauce and watch your friend's eyes start to cry. The Guacamole on the side is a nice hefty size cup so definitely worth it. It's not much in the way of "atmosphere" being a smaller venue tucked next to the gas station but they do the best they can. Spanish channel on the TV, Spanish music and some light decorations. But the real charm is the good food at fair prices. Definitely will return to try some different tacos and the occasional burrito.

Tried new location at Marble City Market place. Good service and outstanding portions! Pork belly and asada street tacos were amazing. Unfortunately the pork left us wanting flavor and spice. Warning the red sauce will absolutely hurt your feels and the green sauce is super mild. Choose wisely. Want to try more items like the the shrimp tacos

I'm notoriously picky when it comes to Mexican food, but Chapuline's is one of our favorites! It always tastes fresh, and the meats are perfectly seasoned. My favorite is the Al Pastor bowl with extra cheese.. the sweetness of the pineapple gives it a little extra yum. I've only had carry out, but the outside of the building has a great aesthetic and is always clean. Don't let the fact it's connected to a gas station fool you, this place is wonderful! Definitely recommend!

The tacos are AMAZING!! The cheese dip to die for!! The owner took our order and went through every taco option. They Have tons to choose from. Home made. Although The tacos were delicious, we thought the chicken tacos were SPICY!!!! Beware both the red and green sauce uf you're a gringo like me. The red was hotter than the green but both had a kick. Whatever they spiced the chicken with also was very red and caused our stomach to hurt through the night. The burrito orderers In our group fared better with the steak. This location was small but hopping. Wish chips came with the food.
