Stayed for a night to see Colonia en route from Carmelo to Montevideo Luxury room with everything you need. The receptionist was great and explained everything. The breakfast in the morning was great. This review does not cover the restaurant....

Spent two nights in Colonia and stayed at Charco. Staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee were provided. The attached bistro was very good and pricing was fair considering quality of food and service. The grounds were lovely and the location is close to the ferry and lighthouse. Would stay again and highly recommend.

My wife and I enjoyed dining here one rainy night. Our dinners were delicious and the staff was cordial. Would definitely go there again.

Our room was large, clean, comfortable and made for a restful night. The staff was also extremely accommodating and attentive. We opted for lunch and dinner in the Charco Bistro and were not disappointed. There was enough variety on the menu that neither meal was repetitive, and every dish was well executed. The wine list was also excellent and interesting. Overall, we felt that the hotel & and the restaurant were the best options in town for our overnight trip because it was obvious both were operating at a higher level than other places in town. The cost of the rooms is on the steeper side, given the amenities provided, but Charco was easily the best option in town and ultimately worth it.

On our honeymoon, we stayed in the white room for two nights—a beautiful and spacious colonial room. The restaurant offers fantastic food with outstanding views. We took advantage of the bike offer and went for a ride along the coastline; highly recommended! We are extremely grateful to the owner and staff for organising the return of items we left behind.

Absolutely amazing. Stayed at the room #2 (the large stone wall room). Comfortable, clean, modern, historical and charming. The restaurant is superb. We ate dinner and breakfast - decided to also had lunch - so we can try everything on the menu.

We stopped here for one night on our honeymoon. Loved it so much we tried to adjust our plans slightly to stay longer but we didn't have any luck changing our next accommodation without penalty. I would highly recommend!

I can’t believe that this hotel has 7 reviews… but I guess that also speaks highly of it, being a well kept secret, as is the beautiful town of Colonia, which receives very little North American tourism.
