Charcoal Bay Wine & Grill

We started our meal with the small charcuterie board, which was the perfect size for four people and offered a great variety of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments. Everything on the board was fresh and well balanced, making it a great way to start the meal. For my main, I ordered the salmon fillet and it was absolutely fantastic—cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The mashed potatoes were creamy and rich, and the green beans were seasoned beautifully and paired really well with the dish. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the beautiful view made the experience even better. Overall, every part of the meal was enjoyable and thoughtfully prepared, and I would definitely recommend this spot for both sharing plates and mains.

Charcoal Bay Wine & Grill was one of the best dining experiences of my trip to Thailand. Located right on the beach walking street, it combines great food with a beautiful ocean view and a calm, romantic atmosphere. We actually came here twice because we enjoyed it so much. The dishes we tried included the pork and apple skewers, the Fisherman’s Son seafood sharing plate, a whole grilled fish and the duck leg confit. Everything tasted exceptional. The flavors were rich and smoky, thanks to their special Spanish brick oven that gives the food a distinct grilled aroma and texture. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the owner came by to chat and make sure everything was fine. They even have two friendly dogs walking around, which added a cozy and welcoming touch. Service was a bit slow at peak time but always polite and warm. Prices are very fair for the quality you get, and it’s a nice surprise that VAT and a 5% service charge are already included, unlike many other places. Overall, I’d give Charcoal Bay a full 5 out of 5. Excellent food, lovely setting and genuine hospitality. Definitely a restaurant I would recommend 100%.

I had the chance to visit Koh Tao and was looking for a restaurant where I could enjoy the sunset view. I was not disappointed at all with choosing this place. The atmosphere was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. The menu mainly focuses on grilled seafood. Overall, I really loved it

This restaurant stays in my heart for ever! Delicious food and great wine selection. Bottles of champagne for very favorable prices. The place and the atmosphere at sunset was like from a movie. Special thanks to Zin, who took very professional care of us. We will come back!

Very cozy and tasty place. We have been on Ko Tao for 3 days and every evening had dinner here. Delicious champagne and grilled fish. Can’t say that 2 people can get full with one grilled fish, but it was still good. Also, amazing location to enjoy sunset

The absolute best date night spot in Koh Tao! 🌟 This place is everything you want for a special night out. We went as two couples and it was a huge hit. The atmosphere is incredible—right on the beach with tables near the sand and beautiful lighting. Come at the sunset. No need to reserve a table. The food is a total standout. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing, and the first dishes were all fantastic. They have a great selection of wine and cocktails too. What really surprised us was the price; it feels like a high-end experience, but it’s fantastic value for the quality. If you're looking for a romantic dinner with great food and a perfect vibe, this is your spot. Highly, highly recommend! ✨ Not paid for promotion just my honest opinion.

Great food with a sea view. They also serve oysters. If I am not wrong of Thai origin (Suratthani has oyster farms). Very delicious and big. I would say twice bigger the French, so order 6, not dozen.

Wow, really delicious food. The fish I ordered was amazing. It didn’t only taste really good, also how it was served on the table was excellent. The ambient of the restaurant is modern and looked awesome because it wS next to the beach. This restaurant sets high standards here on the island.
