It was an absolute delight to dine at Charcoal tonight. The service was polite, very helpful and as I was dining alone, the waiter Nitish suggested a mixed plate according to my liking.
Nothing prepared me for the absolutely gorgeous burst of flavours and the succulent chicken, lamb and prawn that was served up as my main course. I can safely say I've not had better Tandoori the past few decades. Or maybe ever.. The meats and the naan was cooked with respect, care and artistry..
There is a very definite house style which was not lost on me
Later on I found out it was part of the Chef's journey to reconstruct long lost traditions and recipes...
This combined with the perfect attention from the staff and then at the end Chef Harish Tiwari himself who came out to speak with me..
For the gorgeous food alone, you must go to eat at Charcoal.
That plus the ambience and the warm welcome, it's a no brainier.. One of the best Tandoor restaurants anywhere..
