We went to Charcut for a double date Valentine’s Day dinner. It was a mixed experience. We arrived at the front into a small hallway and waited to be seated for our reservation. It was awkward as the hallway is very small and the coatrack is right by the front door and out of sight of staff. I opted not to put my jacket there for security reasons. The bartender smiled and waved us in - but he was actually waving to the people behind us. We had to squish against the wall to let them pass us and waited to be acknowledged ourselves. We were sat down fairly promptly and ordered some drinks. We enjoyed all the drinks throughout the evening, including espresso martinis, whisky sours and wine. We ordered from the main menu instead of the Valentine’s Day fixed menu. I believe that was a mistake. We ordered a variety of items including marrow croquettes, charred octopus, fried mozzarella, margarita pizza, shrimp salad, mushroom pasta and the large “32oz” bone in Ribeye. I found that the portions of all the items were small. The four of us basically got one bite of everything. Thats not really a huge issue as most of the items weren’t from the sharing section of the menu. The taste of most items were decent, but the charred octopus was quite chewy. The biggest issue with the food was the Ribeye from the sharing menu. Advertised as 32oz at $155, you don't immediately expect a steak to come with 4 slices, leaving each person with about 2-3 bites. The rest was a massive bone and large chunks of fat and gristle. The other issue was the steak was underdone. The table decided on medium rare, and our steak came with a purple centre. I decided to mention it to the server and we had it sent to get re-fired. When it came back it was medium rare, but I still did not enjoy this Ribeye. I can confidently say this was the worst ribeye, value inclusive, I have had in a long time. My piece of meat wasn’t tender, was streaked with a tough membrane was small and there was no drizzle or anything to add to it . I had a bite of a dessert and it was pretty good! Service overall was pretty decent, although we did wait quite a while for some drink orders and dessert. I don’t think I would consider coming back to this restaurant. I didn't really find anything to get excited about and for being a meat forward restaurant, the ribeye was a big fail to me.

Went here for a birthday dinner with my friend and the service was quick and friendly. The ambiance is very nice inside we were basically the only ones but it was a weekday around 1pm. I really enjoyed all the food and it’s plated really nicely as well. Good portion sizes with nice flavour. I would definitely be back to try more menu items.

We dined at Charcut during the Visa Infinite Dining Series. We had a blast. The dishes were fabulous, the service, stellar and the pairing (tequila, beer, red / white wines, ports) were perfect. Connie, John and their friend chef Henrique went well beyond our expectations. It wasn't just a meal but a celebration of cultures, culinary exchanges and friendship. Thank you Chefs for the amazing night, one to remember.

We went to Charcut for Valentine’s Day dinner and it was such a great experience from start to finish. Even though the restaurant was very busy (as expected for Valentine’s), we were seated quickly and never felt rushed or forgotten, which honestly made a huge difference. The service was excellent all night by Ciara… attentive, friendly, and well-paced. Our server checked in at all the right times and handled the busy atmosphere effortlessly, which really elevated the evening. You could tell the staff were on top of things and genuinely cared about the guest experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish was well thought out and full of flavour, but the standout for me was the zucchini salad… hands down the best dish of the night. It was fresh, perfectly balanced, and something I’m still thinking about. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. Despite how packed it was, the environment was still warm, energetic, and romantic without feeling chaotic. The vibe felt lively but comfortable, making it perfect for a special occasion like Valentine’s Day. We sat at a table with valentines balloons. Overall, an amazing dinner with great food, fantastic service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Charcut truly delivered, even on one of the busiest nights of the year. We’ll absolutely be back.

We did a pick up order to take to our room while we were staying at the hotel. After a very long day at the Children’s Hospital with my kid coming out of surgery, it was a very disappointing meal for the price. The staff were friendly, but the food wasn’t our favorite unfortunately. We ordered a pasta, pizza (crust was huge, topping few), fish & starter. Personally I think everything needed a bit of seasoning. The service was quick and we could pick up our order within 15-20min.

Went to Charcut for Valentine’s dinner. We had a later reservation at 7:30 and it was still crazy busy but we were seated right away. Food was really good, the pizza was fantastic. Everything came out fast even though the place was packed. Service was great, our server was super nice and on top of everything. The restaurant was busy but we didn’t wait long for drinks or food. Overall a really good night, would definitely go back again.

My wife and I came in for our birthday dinner- our birthdays are only days apart. We put that in the notes of our reservation. From the time we got in to the restaurant to when we left we were treated so kindly. We ordered the chefs plate and it was all time delicious. A thoughtful platter of cheese and meats and spreads each explained for us by the chef. A very good experience and if you are at all a “food person” this place will be exactly what you are looking for.

first and last time I'll be going to charcut. this was the worst fine dining experience I've had in years. 1) Firstly, even before they seat you, they make you agree to a 1,5 hour seating limit. Initially it didn't bother me too much but the first appetizer took 50 minutes to arrive. that leaves 40 minutes for the whole meal. It's outrageous to stress a seating time limit, when you can't even serve the food in a timely manner. I've been to busy restaurants before, and can understand it can take longer, but don't open with a time limit then. 2) the service is outright dishonest and lacking. I went specifically for the prime rib. we booked a prime time for dinner, and not even a late seating (7:30pm). When I ordered the prime rib, they came back and informed me that they were completely out and that I'd have to order something else. I was mildly annoyed since I came specifically for the prime rib, but I can understand them running out so we ordered something else. Near the end of the dinner, I hear the couple next to us, who came and ordered AFTER us, was served the prime rib. Turns out, chartcut had reserved the prime rib for the Set course menu. If they had told us there was limited quantities, and that it was reserved for the set menu, I wouldn't have been as annoyed but it's outrageous to outright lie and serve it to the table next to us who were also seated after us. Had they told us I would have considered the set menu, but instead, they outright lied and said they ran out. 3) the other option was a massive 32 ounce rib eye. I asked if they could reduce the size as I only wanted a 10 oz prime rib. Even though they were out, they wouldn't accommodate a smaller rib eye. So even though I had come for steak, I ordered the carbonara pasta instead. I definitely wouldn't recommend ordering the pasta. The pasta was undercooked and flavour lacking. Worst fine dining experience I've had in a while. Would not recommend to anyone, especially for special occasions. At this point, I'd much rather go to a keg than go to charcut. cheaper and better service.
