Did a take out of the lobster chowder and fish and chips.
No shortage of fish/scallops/shrimps in the chowder plus a claw as promised.
Fish and chips batter was paper thin, not greasy, fish was just cooked, perfect.
Fries were this battered kind I don’t care for (maybe next time I will ask if it possible to skip the batter) but we’re cooked just right.
Definitely coming back.

The clam chowder is super delicious and packed full of seafood! Everything else on the menu is really good and fresh.

Stopped in on the way home from Halifax and I am so glad we did. A good friend of mine often recommended it ( thank you Jeff ) but I never had the chance to get there. The girlfriend also was wanting to get there as she saw many posts about the seafood chowder . Well I am glad we did. I ordered the fish cakes and beans and she of course ordered the seafood chowder. Service was excellent , atmosphere very nice and staff were so friendly and doing all they could do for the customers. Well the food came out of the kitchen and let me say it was absolutely delicious!!!!!! Also the meal came with fresh made tea biscuits . These biscuits were amazing. I like alot of people remember my grandmother's baking and these biscuits were just like hers . Everything was perfect and I can't wait to return to Charlene's again. If you have not had the chance to stop here then I would suggest you do . I believe they close at 7pm currently but come May they close at 8pm. I highly recommend the place.

Excellent food. Chowder was so good! Quite pricey for the size of bowl. Friendly service. East Coast breakfast was wonderful and we had a strawberry shortcake that was very good as well

We went twice during our short stay in Little Narrows. The seafood chowder is the absolute BEST! And desserts are fantastic. Nice that they had a good assortment of gluten free options. Friendly atmosphere and great food brought us back. Wish I could give more stars.🙂

We bookmarked this restaurant before our family trip to Cape Breton, and I had the best chowder of my life here. I loved the cozy atmosphere, with a small lamp on each table, and the spacious layout that kept conversations from other tables from being disruptive. It perfectly matched my vision of a quaint, family-owned restaurant on the East Coast, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

In all honesty this was on of the best food places for our short Nova Scotia trip. It’s a very nice stop on a long road trip and it’s extremely clean inside which was nice. Only downside for food was that the fish and chips were a bit soggy.
The food was so good we decided to call and order seconds ahead of time on our way back to Halifax but the servers seemed to have gotten frustrated with us because of bad service and simply ended our call with “we don’t do takeout” which is the only reason I took a star off for the service.
(We had bad service on the road and when we first mentioned ordering a seafood pasta they answered “one seafood pasta correct?” And we confirmed on the phone but after they repeatedly told us “please give me a moment” they told us “sorry we don’t do takeout” and ended the call)
