The customer service and the ambiance are amazing. I've included pictures to get a feel for the vibe. There is a separate bar area with seating. I went with a large party and they took great care of us. Our food came out fast and hot. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. They did not take reservations. We showed up about 30 minutes before they opened to ensure we got tables. The steaks are very tender and succulent. I would like to see some different options for seasoning. Be sure to leave room for desert. I enjoyed the Reeces peanut butter pie. I also heard the cheesecake is phenomenal.

I enjoyed this restaurant on my birthday. The place was clean relaxing and beautiful atmosphere. The waiter, Brandon, and the host were so friendly. We will make this our new go to place to eat maybe once a month. If you can figure out how to get to it 😁..you won't be disappointed!

This place has a cool vibe, especially for a pub. The service was exceptional from the hostess to the waitress. The appetizer was new to me, very tasty. I forget the name of I. Unfortunately, not only was the main course lacking, but my stomach didn't agree, (and I've got an iron stomach). I opted for their Mediterranean style steak, their house specialty. It was hard to taste the flavor because of how much thyme was used. It came with a lime forward, oily type chimichurri dip. That saved the meal. I also got the green beans, but they were gray and dead looking. If they up the menu, this place will crush it.

Why so serious

Google
First time here and I will say the food wasn’t bad at all. The steak was cooked perfect just as I ordered it. The loaded potatoe was good. But now I was disappointed with my salad. Now you guys can do better with that salad. It’s literally nothing but spring mix salad and a few crotons. There was no cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. I know for a fact the prepping of salad is simple and inexpensive in the restaraunt business. Please do better with the salad. I was surprised when the salad came. I’ve never seen a salad so naked. I forgot to mention the roll. That roll had no taste and it was hard as a rock. The steak tips and rice were awesome. The chopped steak wasn’t bad either other than we though it was steak tips and rice but it was basically hamburger steak. Overall everything was good but that salad need major improvement. I forgot to mention the crab claws. $40 for a half pound is overpriced. They were good but not $40 for a half pound good.

Recently visited here for my birthday dinner. I heard rave reviews of this restaurant from so many others, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed! Merylis, our server, was attentive to our needs and personable! The food was absolutely delicious! I'd give 10 stars if I could!! I will be back!!

This is our second time at Charles Anthony and the food and service was amazing. This was the best steak I have eaten in a LONG time. The temperature was correct (medium) and it was so tasty. I tried my parter's salmon and it was so juicy and moist. The sides were flavorful as well. Our server was very thorough in explaining the specials and answering any questions we had. It was a wonderful time!

Tried several food items over the span of a week since it's close to the holiday inn next door. Their soups are very good. She crab soup is creamy and tasty. The gumbo is spicy and has great flavor. The reeses peanut butter pie is really extravagant and tasty. Everything else falls a bit short. The chopped steak isn't very good. The gravy is jarringly salty. The sauteed crab claws has excessive wine that wasn't cooked out properly. Good flavor despite that though although the price is extremely steep for just crab claws. Overall a mixed bag of quality items and disappointing items but a good experience.

The atmosphere of to me gave a medieval feel. Not a bad thing but all the decor was dark wood and the lighting was low. The food was really good but not great. The portion sizes were good! Everyone had leftovers. I really enjoyed the crab claws (both fried and grilled). Let’s talk about the alcoholic drinks, 10/10. I also had the fried snapper 8/10 (needed seasoning), sweet potato (9/10) and fried okra (7/10). The lemon drop (10/10) was strong and at $15 I felt it was priced appropriately. The service was great! The hostesses were welcoming and kind. As well as our waitress. She was well into her pregnancy and still was attentive and on point. We’d definitely come back here! I’m sure the wait time would have been shorter but we visited during prom/graduation/derby season.

Yelp
Charles Anthony's at the Pub Restaurant is a great place to get a high value meal. I took my cousin here and we both ordered the ribeye. I ordered the larger 14 oz at medium rare and she ordered the smaller one at medium. Cheyenne, our server, was perfect the whole evening. I have eaten here before and my mother somehow knew about their Greek vinaigrette salad dressing, which I have taken several bottles back up to NYC with me and this evening would be no different. I ordered their bottle of Federalist red wine, which was not too dry and tannic for my cousin and, at $38 a bottle, was a decent value. The house salad with my prime rib was on point owing to the Greek vinaigrette. A sharp Italian cheese grated over top would give that salad pop with that vinaigrette and a few more cherry tomatoes and some cucumber would be right on time. The ribeye was cooked to medium, instead of medium rare, but it was not tough or dried up. The marbling kept it that way. The flavor of the meat did not call for any sauce. The cross hatched grill marks were quite evident, but had it been medium rare, it would have been better. The 14 oz steak is cut a bit thin and this, in combination with a grill not at a high enough temperature and lack of bone in, prevented the regulation of cooking temperature to achieve a more complete outer crust while retaining a pink and juicy interior. At $41 for 14oz, it's a pretty good value. The au gratin potatoes were a great side dish, but I wish they would simply plate the side dishes instead of meting them out in shallow mini bowls. I then ordered two bottles of the addictive vinaigrette to go back with me. Charles Anthony's is a great restaurant with an interior that is warm and dark. Service is great and the food is a fairly good value. One can dine here and order with confidence. Three and a half stars!

Yelp
I had the shrimp and grits with a salad and asparagus and my husband had the chicken supreme with salad and sautéed vegetables. Both were delicious! We sat at the bar because they were very busy and we didn't make reservations. Great service! It is a beautiful building inside and out. And it was very busy! That let us know we selected the best place in Montgomery for dinner!

Yelp
Came to visit the casino in town and was looking for a good steakhouse outside the Venue. It fit the bill. Nothing spectacular or outstanding just a good meal and fair price

Yelp
Visited here and the food was very nice, the service was friendly. The restaurant decor was simplistic in a nice formal manner. For an appetizer we went with the Spinach Artichoke Dip and chips. My wife and friends really liked it, but for me it was just ok. I ordered the Trout with the side of green beans and sweet potato casserole. My wife had the Trout Almandine. My friends ordered Tenderloin and shrimp, and the other ordered fried oysters. They both seemed very happy with their meal. I enjoyed mine a lot as well and so did my wife. We had chocolate cake for dessert and our friends had bread pudding. The cake and pudding were both nice. Be aware this is a nice dine in restaurant and so yes it will be on the pricey side of things.

Yelp
Charles Anthony's The Pub has a lovely atmosphere, great food, good cocktails, and an excellent wine selection. The food is always prepared well, the staff is friendly and greets you with a smile! The marinated crab claws are divine! They have steaks, seafood, salads, excellent sides, the best gumbo, and She crab soup!

Yelp
The service, the atmosphere, the food was all top notch. My husband and I always order the rainbow trout, strawberry salad and a lemon drop martini. We are NEVER disappointed. Love this place!

Yelp
I don't have anything extremely negative to say but nothing really stood out to rant and rave about. It was somewhat dark and not inviting inside. The waitress gave us paper menus (I thought we were over that & really only expect those at pubs or breweries). Overall she did okay. Had to grab her a few times for refills. We all got salads with our entrees. Normal side salad, they did have some homemade dressing. I tried the house Italian and it was a bit strong for me. Entree I ordered their ribeye as I saw other reviews saying they had great steaks. It was cooked correctly (medium) but there really wasn't any flavor. Had to request A1. Side was a baked potato (you could choose from other options like sweet potato, broccoli etc). Dessert we ordered chocolate cake and peanut butter pie. Both were extremely rich, but good. I would suggest the peanut butter pie if you are looking for a dessert

Yelp
It was a Gem in this microwave service Town. It is very much a actual cook in the kitchen with prepared food. Great adult ambiance not attractive to you g adults who don't wear a belt. If they add Valet and a cigar room I will fill at home CHICAGO

Yelp
I was excited about coming to Charles Anthony's with family as I've heard good things about their food. I loved that the menu was straightforward and simple with one special which the waitress told us about. Amberjack was the special and I was torn between that and the Grilled Trout Almandine. I ended up getting the trout but wish I had gotten the amberjack. Don't get me wrong, the trout was pretty good but I tasted my mother's amberjack and it was much better. My wife had a " bone in ribeye" but it was actually a boneless ribeye. It was still tasty. Everything was good but I was not really wowed by anything. The best part was being with family. This place is more like 3-1/2 stars but definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Let me tell you a lil' sumthin' here; when you are ready for some fine seafood or steak, this here is your place. These folks use the finest fresh meats and seafood and prepare it to perfection. The service is top notch. This is a great place with a friendly vibe to meet good friends and share a meal. The resturant has a feel that is casual, yet elegant without being stuffy. This is an excellent place to entertain friends or meet for a nice business meal. The Pub is truly a unique Montgomery institution.

Yelp
Decided to take the hubby here for his bday.... Seating was a breeze,we arrive at 4:45 pm. our server was Cory. The menu lists was ok,but nothing compared to what's on-line. Now when the decision was made to come to this business I called to see if reservations needed to be made... the young lady that answered the phone stated no. When we got there I told the associate we had a party of 12, this is where the problems came.. Some of our party had to leave due to no seating, and they wouldn't honor the Suggestion of either moving our party, or letting some of our party sit at this table in which no one was sitting at... It took us 1 hour and 47 minutes to get our order.. we were told because They had to get the big parties out first.... my husband's steal was rubberized, everyone asparagus was cold. Will not be coming back to this one

Yelp
Great steak and seafood restaurant off I-85 heading to Atlanta. We eat there pretty regularly and it's always great food and wonderful service!

Yelp
Fantastic all around! Timely service and nice atmosphere for date night with my wife. She had the tuna and I had the steak--all the food was delicious! Onion rings were amazing. Give it a try for a nice night out.

Yelp
We waited at the bar for our table said 30 minute wait but it was only 15 minutes. While at the bar we got a delicious Pinot Grigio the bar tenders were very nice. We sat in a cozy cute booth our waitress was ok not overly friendly but that's fine. Our entrees were the special of the night salmon which was a bit dry, yummy baked potato and bland cheese grits. Our other entree was grilled shrimp Alfredo pasta the shrimp were very big and very good just a little spicy. The bread that came with the meal was very good and fresh. Also got a cosmopolitan which was great.

Chip B.

Yelp
I'm allergic to fish. I was told that there was no meat or fried vegetables that had not come into contact with fish. While everyone else at the table ate steak, I had rice, green beans and a sweet potato. the waiter was courteous but I would have welcomed an apology or personal contact by the manager. That didn't happen. Don't plan to dine here if you have food allergies

Yelp
We recently had supper at Charles Anthony's while on a road trip to the Gulf. We looked at the online menu ahead of time and because they had crabmeat au gratin on the menu (which we both love) we decided this was the please we wanted to stop for the night. It was also convenient that there was a Holiday Inn Express right next door. All day long on our trip down from Columbia, TN to Montgomery we were looking forward to a cup of She-crab soup and the Crab au Gratin. Imagine our disappointment when we arrived at the restaurant and the menu we were handed (paper?) was quite different from the online menu. We understand that changes are made to restaurant menu's from time to time, but then the online menu needs to be updated as well. We reached out directly to management on their facebook page when we returned home but no one ever bothered to answer...which really is impolite. Such a disappointment!!!

Yelp
So tonight I got in my car and drove 50 minutes to Charles Anthony. Ever since I found out it was a restaurant and not a funeral home.... I was hooked on there food. Definitely enjoyed the full menu pre covid, however the abbreviated menu contains some of my favorites. Tonight I went for my top two faves, the crab claws and a side of fried shrimp. I was hungry, hadn't ate all day so I ask for a roll. Roll comes out, warm with butter. The crab claws and shrimp quickly folllow. Crab claws as usual don't ever quite taste the same but they are still solid. I consume my food along with my Manhattan and ask for the check. This is where things quickly go down hill. I usually ask for the bill and never scrutinize it. Today I quickly open it up to loot my card inside and I see a charge for a roll. Twenty five whopping cents. I immediately get offended. It's all about principal from this point forward. I inquire initially about this charge. ( as I in the many times of me patronizing I've never been charged for a toasted frozen dinner roll) The bartender says it's the policy. I get it he doesn't make the rules. I speak with Paige and expressed to her how absurd I though it was. I mean to nickel and dime me after purchasing the most expensive thing on the menu was as asinine. She as most managers do assumed the defense and stood by the policy 100%. As a customer of many dining establishment I try my best to be objective as possible. I honestly just wanted her to say...... I get it, it was a mistake to charge you. We usually charge if a patron is drinking only, had an excess of rolls etc. For her to stand firm on the fact that an entree wasn't ordered in addition to telling me "it's business". I walked away thinking.... duly noted! It's a business and it's the appreciation of my money that I respect when doing business. To stand firm and not even acknowledge that the policy in this instance was a little overboard......I will take my business elsewhere. It was a nice run!!

Yelp
This review is not about the food, as we never got the opportunity to set foot in the door. I am originally from Montgomery, and my family has been enjoying this restaurant since their humble beginnings in Montgomery Mall in the 1970's. In fact, it was my parent's favorite restaurant. My father passed away 3 years ago and my mother moved out of state to be closer to us. Last week, at age 86, my mom passed away and our small family of 8 made sure mom was transferred home to be buried next to my dad in Montgomery. We travelled from Nashville, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Atlanta, Dothan and North Carolina to pay tribute to a life well lived. I immediately thought of The Pub as a place where we could have a nice dinner to honor them. BUT NO! I called 3 days in advance to see if they could accommodate the 8 of us on a random Tuesday night. First, I was told that they don't take reservations for groups under 10. When I explained my particular situation, I was then told that they already had 3 reservations for that evening and they could not possibly accommodate us. I explained that we were flexible about the time because this was something that we felt strongly about. I explained in detail and practically begged. I was then told that they opened at 4:30 and we were welcome to come and wait and if we could split up it might be possible. What the heck? I understand policies but I also understand compassion and special circumstances. I guess that it is true...you can never go home again! We ended up at Firebirds, where we enjoyed a lovely dinner and incredible service.

Yelp
Really good steaks and seafood are available here. Two sides to eat, one more formal and area to right has a bar. Won't be disappointed ...

Yelp
This another good place to bring family and friends. I am a meat and potatoes guy and I have never gone wrong here. Their oysters were good, too. I usually purchase a bottle of their salad dressing-it's that good.
google avatar

Latise A.

Yelp
I got the Steak dinner, baked potato and asparagus. The steak was cooked to perfection, medium well. The baked potato was perfect and the asparagus was crisp, delicious and just the right amount for the meal. It was truly a delight to behold. The best Steak dinner I've had, since coming to AL. Great decor, the waiter was friendly and helpful. A hidden gem. I will be back.

Yelp
Okay so now this is the second time I've eaten here in the past 15 months when in town. The ambiance of this restaurant is amazing and the wait staff is very personable but the food quality is not as good as the waffle house across the street. The first time I had a steak and it was decent but not for $29. Tonight I had what was supposed to be filet mignon in pieces with crabmeat on top of it for $38. I can't remember the last time I didn't finish a steak it was so bad. Poor quality meat and it was well done in parts and raw and others. Let me just say there's no way this was an actual cut a filet and the crab made was fake as a $10 Rolex. I was also charged $7.95 more for a strawberry side salad. I was not told there would be an $8 up charge for the strawberry salad. I left a more than adequate tip because the food quality was not the waitresses fault. Shame on you the first time shame on me the second time for returning. .

Tanika F.

Yelp
I am unsure if we will be returning. The amount that you pay doesn't match the food experience. We walk in and receive paper menus. I will say that entrance needs to be more inviting. The hostess was very nice and was able to read my face before I asked for booth seating over a table. We go into the dining area, and it was well lit, so I didn't have a problem with the dining area. My hubbin and I ordered water and I like that they bring out the big bottle for us to refill our own glasses...I like things like that. We then order our appetizer of ahi tuna. I would say that it was a little lack luster, but it was decent enough for us to order it for dinner. I will say that the ahi tuna isn't seared to order...almost as if it was seared, sliced, packaged, and refrigerated for orders. the pieces were stuck together which indicated the precooking. I often eat pan seared ahi tuna at many different locations, as this is my favorite appetizer. We place out order for dinner to include a house salad and the waitress asks if we would like onions cheese and bacon on the salad...i opt for onions and my hubbin opts for cheese and onions...it would have been nice if she told us that it was for an additional charge...i honestly though all house salads came with onions and cheese...nickel and diming on a salad i think is a poor choice and should just make the salad a premium side and do an upcharge and keep the cheap sides as the options...or maybe go with one side. at least you don't have to pay for the dressing, 5 croutons and 1 grape tomato. The ranch dressing was very good. we get our dinner of Grilled rainbow trout, grilled trout, and ahi tuna. The fish was very good and tasty with a nice size portion. I love that they placed the sauce on the side as we did not think to ask them to do that. The tuna again was smashed together as packaged and just opened at the time of service. The rolls were very good. Hubbin ordered the chocolate cake for dessert. I opted not to partake in it...i don't like chocolate cake. I did try some of the frosting and it was very sweet...the cake was a very large portion...hubbin had no problem eating it all. Our waitress was very nice and professional. We didn't have any complaints that would send food back or cause major concern...

Yelp
A good experience overall. The food was very good. There were large portions and everything from the entrees to the sides was well seasoned. Our party had the fried shrimp, cheese grits, naked sweet potato, chicken Alfredo pasta, and kids chicken tenders. The breading in the shrimp was perfect! Not greasy, crispy but not too heavy, so delicious! I will be ordering it again. The waiters in our area did not wear masks but the hostesses did.

Dennis G.

Yelp
Great Service! Nice relax ambience! Would come here again for sure! Walking distance from hotel and food is served with a greeting and a smile! As well as the barbecue! Will be back!

Yelp
This was once my favorite place for seafood. Hadn't eaten here in awhile before three weeks ago. In the last 3 weeks I have eaten here twice. The first time it wasn't quite right. My fried oysters were sort of on the soggy side. I figured it was just a one off. So I gave it another go. I got the shrimp and oysters this time and they were AWFUL. I don't know why I didn't take a picture but they were both super soggy. I believe they had cooked them and they were sitting out under a heater until someone made an order. I couldn't believe my once favorite seafood restaurant sold me some crap like that. $25 down the drain including tip. I wont be back.

Tiffany S.

Yelp
This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in town. The atmosphere is always so relaxing. The service is always polite and the food is always delicious and fresh to order. I order the seafood platter or the oyster plate and I'm never disappointed!!!

Yelp
We had wanted to try the pub for over a year, but COVID 19 kept us away. We were in Montgomery for business and remembered Charles Anthonys, so we went early. I was surprised how dark they keep it inside, but we were seated quickly, and the waiter was very friendly and explained the special which we ordered, a filet with red snapper, asparagus, and a salad. I ordered a margarita while we waited. It was the best margarita I have ever tasted. I let the young waiter know and ordered a second. He had the young lady bartender bring it to the table, and she explained a splash of orange juice was her secret, not now, the secret is out! The filet was cooked perfectly, the snapper was good. We enjoyed our visit and look forward to being back next time in Montgomery.
google avatar

Justin K.

Yelp
My favorite steakhouse in the area. Steaks and other food are amazing and the atmosphere is great too! Prices are not too crazy and in line with other steakhouses. Hard to get into on weekends nights and no reservations allowed.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
We visited here for my last dinner with family before heading out of town. They have fantastic crab claws and seafood and steak. I enjoyed my meal and it was a nice quiet environment good for visiting. I would give five stars if they had larger tables and cleared our table more often/faster. I will for sure go back, the food is excellent and service is friendly.

Kenya B.

Yelp
The food was just ok. I ordered the fried shrimp, which was fine. However, someone at my table ordered spinach dip. It tasted watery, no flavor at all.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
We had dinner here on Valentines Day and it was definitely worth the wait. The crab claws were amazing and fresh for our appetizer and did not disappoint. For dinner, we both had the grilled snapper with crab and the flavor was delicious. I don't think I have had a better piece of fish before. Five stars! To complete our meal we enjoyed the warm bread pudding with rum sauce. It was just enough to share and was also excellent. We give the Pub FIVE stars! A must try if you have never been. We will be back.

Shianne A.

Yelp
The food was great and our sever Allyssa was even better. She was attentive, suggested great entrees and made sure we were taken care of fully even on a busy night like Valentine's Day. Thank you for great service!

C S.

Yelp
Took my wife and daughter with her family there. We all enjoyed our meals and deserts. Nice atmosphere and the wait staff was impressive. Clean orderly service from start to finish. The only thing I'd do differently is offer a few tables for reservations on the weekends. Sometimes that can make the decision to go there or not. This is a popular place and fills up quickly after 6pm. Overall I would recommend this establishment.

Yelp
This was my first time at this restaurant and I came for a couple of my close family/friends birthday dinner. We had a good sized group. The atmosphere is nice and mellow, my only gripe was that they didn't handle our group size too well. It took while for our salads to come out and they offered no bread or anything until our main course arrived. But once the food finally came I must say I enjoyed my house salad so much, that I ordered another because I was really hungry. I ordered the grilled Rainbow Trout with a baked potato and was delicious, I enjoyed every bite. It is a little pricey but besides that the food was worth it. I will come back again to try something else on their menu.

Yelp
Very good steak place and seafood is wonderful. Dim lighting good for couples. We were immediately greeted and shown to our seats. This is a good place for groups if you cal ahead or show up early. Staff is very professional. I ordered a medium steak and it was clearly over cooked ...,But tasty!

Yelp
This used to be our go to seafood restaurant. Sadly, after tonight's visit, we won't be going back. After ordering our food, our salads arrived first. It tasted OK, but about halfway through, I noticed a large dead bug in my salad bowl. It looked like a roach. I was disgusted. It was so disgusting, that I lost my appetite right there. I told my family to stop eating. I called the waitress back and told her. She quickly apologized and snatched up the salad bowls. Only after she took it away did I think I should have taken a picture. The manager came out after to apologize. He told us that since they use a pre-washed salad mix, and from time to time they have dead moths in them. He offered us extra free sides to our meals. When the waitress came back to make sure all was well, I told her to cancel my order because I had lost my appetite. The food came out at a decent time. My family still ate their meals because we were there to celebrate a birthday. When the check came we told it was "heavily discounted", though it still was over $100 for 4 meals... If you end up eating here, don't order the salad. Good luck.

Yelp
This place is truly a hidden GEM literally! You wouldn't even tell it's a restaurant from just passing by and probably wouldn't see it either! But when we finally noticed we had to stop and see what it was the food is amazing great portion sizes and that Gumbo is EVERYTHING! Definitely will be going back.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time tonight. The bar area is a great place to have a less formal hang out and watch the game. We ordered the onion rings for an appetizer and they were awesome! We then received our salads. I ordered the strawberry salad and it was excellent. The greens were crisp and fresh, the dressing was sweet and acidic and created a perfect combination. My husband said his house salad was great as well and commented on the croutons. We both ordered steaks and they were perfection! Cooked just right.

Yelp
Ate with my wife. The house was not terribly busy, so we were seated quickly I had a salad (can't remember its name) that was quite good. It had pecans, strawberries, blue cheese, and vinaigrette dressing. The entree was was grits and shrimp and it was just okay-I have had better in several locations. 7/10

Yelp
Always an excellent dining experience. The servers are always attentive but not overbearing. The appetizers and entrees are always top notch and the mixed drinks are always cold and flavorful. I highly recommend dining here.

Yelp
Usually one of my fave hidden gems in town. Went Valentines weekend & it was TERRIBLE. Waited almost an hour for food. Ordered shrimp & oysters. Food arrived COLD. I was trying to work with it until I noticed blonde hair throughout the food. Manager came over & apologized for the inconveniences. I didn't give them a hard time because I know restaurants have had it tough during covid & food here is usually delicious. Also, inflated prices & extra $$ just to add CHEESE on a salad

Yelp
Went in on a Monday night for birthday dinner. Our server Sam did an excellent job. Started off with crab claws half fried, half sautéed and it was absolutely delicious! I liked the sautéed claws the best, as did most of the table!! We ordered ribeyes, filet mignon, shrimp n grits, and the crabmeat augratin. Steaks were cooked perfectly, and with good flavor. Augratin must have been exquisite because my brother tore it up lol

Yelp
INCREIDIBLE experience! I ate here for a celebratory dinner and flew in from out of town to surprise a friend and the staff was incredible in working with me to pull it off. On top of the amazing customer service and delicious food they then comped our entire meal! Cannot say enough about this special place. Special shout out to Paige! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Don't know the next time I'll be back in Montgomery, but I know for sure I won't be back at The Pub. First of all, we arrived on time with a confirmed reservation but still had to wait twenty minutes, sitting on hard as stone benches, in the imitation Medieval Times waiting area. Second, the food was sub par -- had it not been for my dinner companions I would've sent my dish back straight away. The ambiance, however, was the worst! The sheer level of noise in the place was absurd. We could barely hear one another at a four top table if that is any indication. We were seated next to the half wall that separates the main dining room from what doubles as an event room for larger parties. The partition that is typically closed was opened since that party had not paid for a private room, according to the manager. So, the rest of the restaurant essentially had to suffer through their boisterous noise. Basically, someone cheaped out and didn't want to pay for the private room, though they were seated there anyway due to their size. They were clearly having a good time, which is fine, but their noise ruined dinner for everyone else and the restaurant would rather stick to their "policy" than ensure a decent dining experience for everyone. The Pub, please change your event room policy and figure out a way to control your noise and disorderly patrons so our biggest complaint can be about your bland pasta.
