Charleston Santa Teresa Cartagena (Cartagena, Colombia) 10 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Monasteries and convents make great hotels. For while their ultimate purposes — one otherworldly, the other earthly — could scarcely be more at odds, in terms of day-to-day operation they’re actually quite similar. Both require a room with a bit of peace and quiet, a setting that inspires contemplation, and some places to gather, whether in worship or simply over a meal. Cartagena’s Santa Teresa has followed more or less this exact formula from its seventeenth-century founding to the present day, in its incarnation as the Charleston Santa Teresa Cartagena." - Tablet Hotels

An amazing stay at Charleston Santa Teresa! From the moment we arrived the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The hotel is a perfect blend of luxury and local charm, with beautiful colonial architecture and modern amenities. Our room was upgraded and was spacious. The rooftop pool was very nice, offering stunning views of the city. It is in a great location and just steps away from the vibrant Old Town. Highly recommend staying here in Cartagena!

I was informed of work in progress few days before my arrival. Tiny room, and they had some larger available but did not want to switch on day one. No hot water and the water service got interrupted during the stay, so finally like magic a larger room was available. |It’s a great location and nice looking hotel, they should just be more hospitality oriented. Overall ok experience. Their roof top and pool is the best.

This hotel was espectacular! The personal attention, the rooftop pool, the cleanness of the room, the view and the breakfast were our highlights. We got a personal attention from Estefania. She was amazing! Estefania helped us organizing our itinerary during our stay in Cartagena. Ours highlights include hanging around at the rooftop pool and a boat tour to Islas del Rosario. We are definitely coming back to Hotel Charleston Santa Teresa.

Harry's restaurant and the Pool is the best thing about this hotel. The complementary services are not those of a USD 500 per night hotel. Although they are good for that price, they could personalize the experience better. I made a couple of requests that didn't cost more than USD 10 and they ignored them. I have been in Cartagena in hotels that cost USD 200 to 300 maximum per night and they manage to match what this hotel offers.

Great hotel. The location, staff and food is excellent. I would highly recommend this place, if im coming back to Cartagena this will be my first choice to stay. I really enjoyed the roof top pool, Maria and Carlos were great at roof top pool area, they kept drinks coming in a timely manner.

My mother and I traveled to Cartagena and she enjoyed the facility and service. Wonderful people working at the hotel focused on customer service and detail! I loved this hotel, the design and area was beautiful. I was somewhat disappointed, our A/C didn’t work, and we mentioned to the front desk after our first night. Their response was to send someone and tell us it was functioning. We didn’t push the complaint, I really hate complaining. During check out, I mentioned again that it was not functioning and they reassured it was. I turned it to the lowest setting possible, yet the room never cooled. For reference we stayed in 210. Our other friends/family stayed in 211, and the a/c was working perfectly. I wish we there would have been more consideration about this issue. I didn’t ask for any compensation or push hard, but it’s disappointing when spending $1000s for a hotel, you would expect a little bit of understanding and compassion. We stayed in 2 suite rooms. I would stay again but will be adamant if the a/c is not working to have our room changed.
