This is, without question, one of the best values I’ve ever experienced in a hotel—and by “value,” I don’t mean affordability. I mean that even at the very top of the price spectrum, this hotel delivers so much that it could charge more and still be worth every dollar.
The service is exceptional: warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful at every level. The food is outstanding—consistently excellent, beautifully executed, and memorable. The amenities are refined and luxurious without feeling pretentious, and the location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the Old City.
This is easily one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed in, anywhere in the world. I’ve been traveling for over 25 years, including six years of nearly continuous travel, so that’s not something I say lightly.
We actually checked out of another well-known luxury hotel in Cartagena a couple of days early because the experience was so disappointing, and came here looking for something better. What we found exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, it was clear we had made the right decision.
At this point, I honestly don’t see myself staying anywhere else in Cartagena again. The Charleston Santa Teresa sets the standard.
