An absolute gem! We were blown away by the genuinely warm hospitality. How often does your host point out the washrooms on the way to your table? Drew has the most infectious personality—so fun to chat with, and he even entertained nearby kids with card tricks! The thoughtfully curated decor (love those emeralds!), the varied menu, and especially the plant-based options made this a standout from our PEC trip. Plant-based dining isn’t easy to find in the County, so we drove from Sandbanks specifically for this—totally worth it! My cauliflower flatbread was perfection: moist, perfectly spiced, crispy base, topped with fresh dressed greens. So satisfying! The finishing touch? Being offered a hardcover Hardy Boys novel that serves as their guestbook. How adorable is that?! Run, don’t walk—this place is a masterpiece of human connection and scrumptious food.

Truly cannot recommend this establishment more. Wonderful is an understatement. We were visiting PEC and went for dinner two nights in a row. As vegans we cannot stress how sweet it was for a restaurant to be excited about their vegan menu, and how thoughtful (and delicious) the food was. Also recommend the Lavender Lemonade drink and a pool game (or two)! The people and decor are an absolute delight. We will definitely be back!

Who knew one of the best vegan meals at a restaurant would be in a small, charming town in Ontario? This place has a great vibe, great service and even greater food. The have a separate vegan menu with many options and our server made it a point to tell is they take just as much care with the vegan menu as they do with the regular one. My favorite was the poutine. Amazing and will come back! some time.

This is a great addition to the county specifically in Consecon. There was another establishment there in the area that we were frequenting but it’s no longer there. We tried Charlie and it didn’t disappoint! We very much enjoyed our meals and the staff members were fantastic! There’s a nice little patio deck with pleasant views too as well as an upper deck with a bar and pool table. We will definitely return. 👍😎

Charlie is amazing! Our family has eaten there three times in the past week. What makes it stand out is how inclusive the menu is—whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or have allergies like dairy or egg, there’s something tasty for everyone. Ashley, the owner, is so warm and welcoming, and she really makes the experience special. A fun touch we loved: the bill comes in an old book, and you can leave a message inside. Highly recommend Charlie to anyone visiting PEC!

We were sad to hear about the closing of Bermuda, but its spirit is alive and well at Charlie. The vibes are lovely, service is very friendly, and the delicious food we loved at Bermuda is still present in Charlie’s menu. We had the tacquitos, crispy shrimp, roast chicken, and cauliflower, and finished with the lemon custard tart which was to die for. All of the dishes were flavourful, well seasoned and had a creative spin to them. We will definitely be back!

Hidden Gem Alert: Charlie’s in Consecon Last night, we took a drive out to Consecon and stumbled on a place I hadn’t even heard of, Charlie’s. I hadn’t been out that way in a while, so this spot was a total surprise. The best kind. First off, the place is beautiful inside, clean, cozy, and welcoming. But we chose to sit on the deck, and honestly? That was the move. The sounds of the water and birds created this chill, peaceful atmosphere that felt like home. Our server, Hannah, was a total gem. Great energy, friendly, and just on point with her service, the kind of vibe that makes a meal even better. We started with the PizzaQuitos (yeah, say that five times fast). They were out-of-this-world good! Crispy on the outside with the perfect chewy on the inside, packed with flavor on the inside, and topped with hot honey that brought the whole thing together. Came with a side of ranch dip, but not your basic ranch. This was some next-level dip — I don’t even have words, just trust me. For mains, both my husband and I went for steak. And let me tell you, this was the best steak I’ve had since The Tulip in Toronto. No exaggeration. I asked for salt and steak sauce out of habit, but thank god I took a bite before it arrived, I didn’t need a damn thing. Perfectly seasoned. Perfectly cooked. My husband cut his with a butter knife. That good. He had the loaded hash browns with cheese, bacon, and sour cream, I stole a bite and immediately regretted subbing mine for fries… until I tasted the fries. They were actually awesome too. But that loaded hash? That’s the one. Heaven in your mouth. We skipped dessert, but not because we weren’t tempted , the portion size was just right. I left full, satisfied, and didn’t feel the need to chase it with something sweet. That’s how you know the meal hit all the right notes. Before we left, I had a chat with the owner, Ashley, and she’s an absolute sweetheart. You can tell this place is built with love. And jist happens to be located in my favorite town in the world. If Consecon has moved to town status from Village, but either way, even the guests sitting next to you will strike up a conversation, making your dining feel all that more "at home" Bottom line: Don’t sleep on Charlie’s. Make the drive. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your return.
