Great views. Not a huge viewing area and it is a popular trail. I would recommend getting an early start so you don’t have to wait to get a turn at the view point. The trail was moderate, but a little bit slick after a recent rain fall.

Great view!! this hiking is a mid-level, not easy, and not difficult. We can grab a nice view! Oh, Don’t forget to buy a parking ticket before hiking. :)

This was a great hike! The parking lot had plenty of parking on a weekday. The trail itself wasn’t too crowded but the viewpoint was. Lots of people just camping out there. It had been raining a lot so it was quite soggy, but luckily it wasn’t too foggy.

This was a phenomenal hike along the Appalachian Trail! We caught the last bit of snow in April and it looked like hiking through a fairy tale! It is a tough trail, but the journey was worth it.

This was our first time and by far the best hike and hardest one we have done..can't wait to come back.

On the brochures it said this trail was moderate, but compared to alum cave which was marked strenuous, this was pretty hard(as an amateur). The way up is not very pretty, we didn’t get to the very top because it was getting dark, but I’m sure the view is worth it just be weary.

Charlie’s Bunion is a moderate hike in difficulty. It is very achievable. The view at the end of the trail is absolutely otherworldly! On the hike we encountered some white tailed deer, it is a very popular hike so if you want the place to yourself for photos I recommend starting early!

This was our favorite Smoky Mountains hike of our trip, the views all the way up were insane and it was so high up and so beautiful it felt like it couldn’t be real. BUT LISTEN, everywhere I looked online it says it takes 3.5 hours round trip, IT TAKES MORE. We did the hike with this in mind - it took us over 5 hours, and we were absolutely hauling it the whole way back. We ended up finishing it off in the dark, I can’t emphasize enough how scared we were. We just did it mid November and large portions of the trail were totally covered in ice, making it much more difficult, especially if you’re not prepared to deal with that. Multiple passing hikers also said it took them 5 hours, so it was not totally just us being slow. Please learn from our mistakes - I would not start this one past noon.
