We recently went to Carlotte Beer Garden for the second time and they did not fail us again.
It is the largest taproom in America (not sure about world but maybe) with over 100 different taps. It is pretty insane but looking at the options online can be overwhelming, but the great thing is that they have it where you can filter down by what styles you like to make things go faster. This time I went straight for sours only so it only took me a few minutes to fill out a flight card. My niece did ciders and sours and checked to make sure we weren't doubling up and then Ben, well he likes several styles so he took a little longer.
When you go in, you can sit downstairs, outside, upstairs or even on the third level which is also outside. In November, we choose to sit upstairs to be more inside even though they have large windows opened but it was also further away from the live music outside. When someone comes to your table they ask you if you want table service or if you want to get your own drinks/food from the bar. From our first visit last year we learned that if you get your own, you will be going up and down stairs to get all your desired options. To me, that is not something I am willing to do with a flight of beers. The place can get crowded, and I am not taking my chances of walking up a flight of busy stairs or maneuvering around a ton of people that are not paying attention to those walking. I am also 5 foot, I am overlooked and ran into all the time, even without anything in my hands at a busy place. So keep in mind, depending on what you order to drink, it may take a little while because your server may have to go downstairs or upstairs to get some of your options. I do believe they have employee only stairs though, making it easier for them, but I could be wrong.
They food many is also pretty creative for a beer garden. On our first visit, we tried several different menu items as we also had more people with us, and nothing disappointed us. Some were unusual, like their version of a corn dog, but it wasn't bad, just a fancy corn dog. LOL.
We really have enjoyed each time we have gone there, and I can't image a visit to the area without including this into one of the stops. There is something there for everyone.
