My wife and I shared the white chocolate cheesecake and strawberry tart - both were absolutely delicious! The cheesecake was wonderfully light, while the tart had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. We loved the cozy, lively atmosphere, though it was surprisingly busy for a Monday afternoon. The coffee and hot chocolate were decent, but the dry croissant was disappointing. The servers were great

Here's Severely Overrated: More Canteen Than Bistro This establishment was a major letdown and, frankly, quite overrated. If you're expecting the charm and quality of a French bistro, you'll be sorely disappointed. We visited for breakfast, and the experience felt far more akin to a canteen. The use of wooden cutlery immediately cheapened the meal, and the poor menu options further cemented the feeling that this was a far cry from the sophisticated dining experience we'd hoped for. It lacked any authentic bistro atmosphere or culinary flair.

Google
Very pleasant place and good food. The best are jams and jars of white chocolate or salty caramel that you can buy and take home. Nice bread. Coffee could be better and service/atmosphere could be slightly improved. Still, I recommend this place for breakfast/lunch in Cracow.

Google
Delicious breakfast basket and so very well priced! The caramel spred was really good. Good bread as well. Better than at many other hyped up places. Cosy and super nice music. The staff was unfortunately not very helpful. I had to go up and ask to pay and they did not take my finished meal away. Other people’s grilled sandwiches also looked very good. I can recommend to order the breakfast with a boiled egg, caramel and raspberry jam. The chocolate one was not so rich and complex in my opinion!

Coffee was delish - always a priority 😋. Pastries were too, while the staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the extra touches of fresh flowers on the tables!

Google
Delicious food, staff efficient and delightful and fabulous ambience. I only had breakfast and lunch here. I LOVED Charlotte. Sometimes there is a queue outside but really worth waiting for. Staff were really helpful and pleasant and explained the menu etc.

Google
This place was recommended to us by a friend, we visited here on Bastille Day - the restaurant was decorated with french flags and seemed to have an event in the evening as well. We ordered the Breakfast with Eggs which has a basket of bread along with some sweet options (we got lavender honey and orange marmalade - these had free refills at the restaurant). We also got fresh orange juice and a coffee. We would definitely recommend the jams and the juices as it was so fresh and yummy. We ended up buying a rose-raspberry jam and orange marmalade to take with us.

Google
This space is really beautiful! We went for breakfast. I ordered a croque madam and an almond croissant. The sandwich was okay. It seemed to be missing to béchamel sauce so it was rather dry. However, the croissant was one of the best I’ve ever had!!

Yelp
This is the best cafe I have ever been to hands down, such a great way to start a trip to Krakow. The prices are incredible and the food is even better. I had the Charle Breakfast for under $7 and it came with a bread basket, tea, sparkling wine, and an egg. The bread basket was served with a delicious selection of fruit and chocolate spreads. The bread was fresh and the croissants buttery and flaky. The sparkling wine was crisp and not too sweet. The cafe has plenty of sitting room with a cute upstairs balcony. I highly recommend Charlottes to anyone looking for a great breakfast, snack, or pastry. I will be back for sure!

Yelp
This restaurant is quite popular. In high tourist season, service can be slow. But the servers seem well trained and experienced, juggling their responsibilities quite well. My spouse ordered a mixed greens salad with tuna and hardboiled eggs, which she really liked. I mistakenly pointed to Croque-mademoiselle with cheese and green salad when I meant to order Croque-monsieur with ham and cheese. Since I also asked the restaurant not to put any cheese in it due to lactose intolerance, it must be a hard sandwich for the chef to create and make tasty, even though the taste was still pretty decent. When I discovered my mistake, I asked for a serving of ham, and the server accommodated it with a small extra charge. At any rate, we would dine at the restaurant again if we have another chance to visit Krakow.

Yelp
Great little hipster French restaurant in the heart of the city. Tasty lighter fare, including breakfast served all day. They feature an assortment of French bread and pastries, with a variety of spreads served at your table. There are multiple levels, including a fairly large bottom level. You may need to wave down the wait staff, but it is a worthwhile experience. Moderate prices.

Yelp
Good coffee, great pastries, stellar ambience... This is a bit of a "catch of all trades" kinda place - coffee, munchies, wines, and whatnot. It's basically the equivalent of an Italian "Bar", and is a pretty good one at that. The draw is the pastries - all their baked goods tend to be very very very good, and that makes your morning coffee worth it. (FWIW, this is a bit of a default morning place for me in Krakow)
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
Very slow service and unfriendly staff. Doesn't deserve all the attention and line outside. Nothing special with respect to good, not a good coffee, but worst of all is SERVICE, or the lock of it to be exact
google avatar

Yelp
From the moment you walk into Charlotte, it feels like a dream. From the smells to the overall ambience of the restaurant, it makes you wish you had come here sooner. I just stopped in for dessert but tried the creme brûlée, lemon tart, and Madeline. All three were overall great. The creme brûlée was perfectly made but not much different from one you'd get elsewhere. The Madeline should definitely be ordered alongside coffee, but was good. The lemon tart though? Out of this world. It was the perfect balance between sweet and tart. I can't recommend it enough for anyone who likes lemon. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Such a cute place nestled not too far from old town Krakow. They are very smart for being one of the first places open in the morning and one of the last places to close at light. For this reason, we came back here over and over! There are two floors, and lots of seating. The ambience is frenchy, we felt like we were in France for some reason. Their food was delicious and they have a good variety weather you are there for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a late snack. The staff were always friendly. A huge plus is that they speak English very well! Sometimes we forgot we were outside of the US! If you are in Krakow, definitely go check out this place! And definitely try all their spreads that come with the bread basket!! Our favorites were the whites chocolate and raspberry. But the orange and milk chocolate were very good as well!

Yelp
This place is charming , good vibes. There there's multiple different options from sandwiches to patisserie. Everything I ate was really good the almonds croissant was amazing :)

Yelp
Rustic, simple interior with multiple servers serving meals quickly. AMBIANCE: 3.0. Upscale cafeteria. Outdoor seating available. SERVICE: 3.5. Fast and efficient. Staff of thin young people (university students?) constantly moving fast across the floor, and up and down the stairs. FOOD: 4.0 - French omelette with goat cheese: 5.0. - granola with yogurt: 3.5. Additional and varied fresh fruit would help. - croissant and pain au chocolat: 4.5. - coffee (Americano): 3.0

Yelp
Very good food! Can be busy on weekends but a nice spot to relax and enjoy with friends!!
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Must visit when you're there. Don't be afraid of the long line because it moves rather quickly. Wait time for patio seatings will take longer (who doesn't want to look out at the square!) Get the bread basket so you can try their wonderful home made spreads. I didn't know you can pick your own (up to three jars) so they gave us whatever jars were available. Luckily our neighbors were leaving so we took theirs too! The honey is a must - lavender infused. They are also available for purchase. Order as many as you can and sample them all since the croquettes are bite sized. We loved every bite - fresh ingredients with great presentation.

Yelp
I came here because it was recommended by a friend. They are probably the best bakery in town. Their croissants are crispy and the spreads are to die for. Please do try the chocolate spread. It is not as sickly sweet as Nutella! Their jams and preserves give a great balance as well. Now... we are going to talk about some cons. I came beee twice because I just want to make sure that it was not just a random coincidence. This is a bakery with full service. I was sitting inside at the main hall, and served by the same guy. It literally took us 10-15 mins to get greeted (I actually needed to flag him down). The table of four next to me got completely ignored for 20 mins and left. I know it is not that guy's fault, and they may need more staff. If you have ample time, please come here because their bread is to die for. However, if you are in a rush or you are the kind of person who is too afraid to flag a server down, don't bother... go to Milkbar Tomask instead:)

Yelp
Very good food. Great ambiance and energy. SLOW service. But I would not put that on our waiter, he was working so hard but super busy and not the best system for efficiency that I've experienced. But I would certainly come again.
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
Cute Parisian-style cafe. Good coffee and nice assortment of freshly baked breads. Got the bread basket and 1 egg. You can choose 2 spreads per basket. I really wanted 3 to try but lady wouldn't budge. Let's call it a language barrier issue... Not crazy about the communal spread jars (especially after seeing some kids double-dipping on my way out). I'll pretend for now I never saw that but beware. Opens early, which works nicely for those dealing with jetlag! Woot!!

Yelp
I was feeling in the mood for a coffee and a pastry, so Charlotte seemed like the perfect place. I wasn't totally clear when I walked in whether it was a table service or counter service operation so I went up to the counter and was told to sit back down. Nobody came to take our order for a few minutes after that which is a little pet peeve of mine, but not so much of an issue as we were just relaxing and getting a treat rather than hungry waiting for a meal. I ordered a flat white and a croissant which had almond and rum. I'm not sure where or how the rum featured but this was huge and exciting and delicious. Between the caffeine and the sugar I felt very happy and ready for further exploring after a pitstop here. Staff were very friendly, as were the other customers and the overall vibe in the café.
google avatar

Marlon F.

Yelp
We ordered the Charlotte breakfast which seems to be a thing here. It's a basket of mixed bread slices including a croissant, accompanied by a jar of marmalade and a jar of natural white chocolate, yes white chocolate. Then the madam croquette. A turkey sandwich with melted cheese on top and a egg on top of the melted cheese. This place has been my favorite restaurant in Kraków so far. It was packed to the brim at lunch, we came here for breakfast. It's very French but hey it's magnific!

Yelp
Love this place! I highly recommend getting the Charlotte Breakfast (choice of hot or cold beverage + basket of homemade bread + homemade chocolate spread/marmalade of your choice (pick one). Tip #1: If you come with a few people and each order the Charlotte Breakfast, you can try a variety of chocolate spreads/marmalades since you are only allowed to choose one per meal. A must-try is the white chocolate spread! (Other options available when I visited: milk chocolate, the following types of marmalade: orange, strawberry, and berry. Note: the types of spreads rotate). Tip #2: Seating can be tricky. I don't recommend coming with a huge group unless you visit during an off-time. But if you're looking to get breakfast at peak times, know that it's self-seating. And most importantly, check the downstairs basement to see if there are any open spots available. Once you successfully sit down, just look for a waitress and ask for a menu. (They are always super busy so they may have not noticed you). Prices were very reasonable and I will certainly be returning soon. Hopefully this helps! :)

Yelp
Very, very, very good food. I ordered Charle's Breakfast for zlot 26.00, and got a full basket of bread, 4 types of spread, an egg, choice of hot or cold drink and a glass of sparkling wine. Great bang for your buck. If I return to Krakow I will definitely be returning to Charlotte.

Yelp
Oh Charlotte, where do I start..... You're a delight to visit. Every time. Weekend or weekday, summer or winter! As long as those sandwiches, chocolate spreads and pots of french breakfast tea are on offer I will come back to indulge in your fine nibbles until my wallet surrenders and I have to spend the rest of my precious student loan on canned soup.... But in all seriousness, I always enjoy coming to Charlotte! Even during the busy brunch-time on the weekends when the place is crammed with people: -men with hats reading newspapers -children who run around and their impatient parents trying to feed them their breakfast -trendy chaps with earphones connected to their iPads but disconnected from the rest of us slowly sipping on modest cups of espresso -groups of people on a row of tables raising their champagne glasses in the spirit of celebration ...and then there's me; either alone working my way through a textbook chapter or taking a break from said book with some company. The classic breakfast (bread basket)is a guilty pleasure of mine, with the white chocolate, raspberry spread and lavender honey being my favourites to go with it. The French omelette I am not as big of a fan of because is a little runny, but the open- and toasted sandwiches are nice lunch options (mind you I have never tried the croque madame that everyone seems to go on about...). If it was not for the horrendous price I would also get the fresh orange juice with every breakfast, but I am fearing it might break the bank one day sooooo...I feel that certain limitations has to be set long before thinking of crossing Charlotte's doorsill! Nevertheless, you're high on the list of Cracovian places I cherish, Charlotte, just thought you should know.

Yelp
Charlote is vested on Plac Szczepański in the North West of Krakow, approx 5 min walk from the Rynek main square. Plac Szczepanski has been renovated over the past few years and attracted several small nice restaurants.. Charlotte is a small "bistro" and serves croissants, tartines, sandwiches, and salads for example. All food is fresh and tasty. Great to have a breakfast with Charlotte. She has lots of fans so hard to meet her sometimes :).
google avatar

Bronwyn G.

Yelp
Breakfast at Charlotte was so good, I broke one of my personal rules of travelling to new cities and went back to the same place for breakfast two days in a row. How could you not, when freshly baked bread, melt in your mouth croissants, carefully thought out sandwich combinations and homemade jam bursting with flavour await you? You can even have a champagne breakfast here if your heart so desires. I would strongly recommend putting brunch at Charlotte on your Kraków bucket list - try the croque madame or croque monsieur and you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
My favorite place for breakfast in Krakow! Love the cute look of the restaurant, the friendly waitresses and waiters, and of course: the food. The preserves are AMAZING, the bread is fantastic.... loved the quiches and lemon tart, their eclairs are delicious... and the prices are unbelievable. Next time I'm in Krakow, I'm definitely coming back.
google avatar

Yelp
The most fantastic French breakfast place located in Krakow just off the Main Square. It's a cute place with wooden tables, encouraging communal seating and adorned with fresh flowers. Probably the best item on the menu to take advantage of their own freshly baked breads and amazing homemade jams is the Charlotte's Breakfast that consists of a basket assortment of bread slices (plus a very tasty croissant) and a choice of one of those spreads. The spread choices include: dark chocolate, white chocolate, raspberry, lavender honey and others. There's also an option to add an egg for an extra 3zl. If you're indecisive about which of the beloved spreads to get, one of the best things to do is to go in a group and have a majority order the Charlotte Breakfast and then there will be several of the jams to mix and match. Their coffee is delicious and the other items on the menu - croque monsieur and tartines - also look amazing. One star detracted for the pastries in the front...with many bees hovering over them. The experience and food are still amazing, I just wish they would take care of those pesky bees.

Yelp
I had a brunch one Sunday in there- plenty, plenty of people- place is like really popular amongst different people who like to have their breakfast and brunch out. It is busy environment on sunny days and you can seat outside admiring nearby fontaine.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Best breakfast in town! They open at 7am which is great for tourists with morning tours. The latte was spot on, lox sandwich with dill was great, and the almond crossaint was amazing. They have an upper level for seating so don't be fooled from the front. They also have some square-facing tables outside. Will definitely come back.
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
Amazing food with amazing service! I go with my friends for quick brunches between classes. Not pricey, and always a good time. I definitely recommend if you're in the area!
google avatar

Tai Ming K.

Yelp
Come for breakfast here! And get the Charlotte basket which has an assortment of breads such as croissant and baguette, etc. They offer free spreads for your breads and I recommend trying the white chocolate spread! Their breads are soft and fluffy - it's amazing!
google avatar

Liz A.

Yelp
Love the feel of the whole place. They have three floors (with a naturally-lit basement and balcony area). The white chocolate and raspberry spread was excellent! gets a little bit too crowded during brunch time. But that's the cost of good food. I recommend the Charles Breakfast.
google avatar

Erika A.

Yelp
Best place in Kraków for breakfast or lunch, Lovely atmosphere and delicious food . I highly recommend it
google avatar

Heidi M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. Fresh breads, sandwiches and pastries. The space has 2 levels and is quite popular.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Popped in to Charlotte today for some breakfast. We went downstairs which was just as hot as outside as this is where the bread ovens are located. All their bread and pastries are made onsite. The music is pure French and quiet relaxing and the food very good French food. I had an almond croissant, coffee and lemonade. The only thing that lets this place down is that the service was typical Paris cafe, really bad. I had to go and ask for sugar, knife and folk and find someone to pay at the end. However this isn't a killer just typical Paris service for anyone English which we love as it's a bit of game and lets us moan about French people :)
google avatar

Quentin A.

Yelp
Excellent place. Really nice team, friendly and helpful. Food quality is A+, croissants reminded me the best Parisian bakeries. Excellent moment, would definitely recommend for a nice brunch in Krakow.
google avatar

Yelp
Dear Charlotte, You were the perfect ending to a fleeting visit to Krakow! Thank you so much for you excellent service and delicious food! I ate with glee through your breads and spreads with a side of a boiled egg cooked just right. Your white chocolate spread was delicious but it was your raspberry jam that made my taste buds extra happy! The coffee was great and your prices to me as a tourist appeared reasonable! I sat upstairs but downstairs there is a lot more space. I would probably sit upstairs as I love looking outside and it is easier to catch the waiters attention (by the way our waiter was so friendly and accommodating!). We all left happy and content, so thank you Charlotte for having us! Till the next time I'm in town, I shall think longingly of your breads and spreads and baked goods. Love, Anna
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Aptly located on Plac Szczepanski giving a beautiful scenery both outside and inside. Cozy french with modern decor and ample seating spots both indoors and outdoors, upstairs and downstairs. Perfect for a coffee and some work, meeting friends over a quick bite or just spending a lazy Sunday drinking champagne. Trendy atmosphere but in a relaxed way. Delicious french cuisine for both those with a sweet tooth to more proper food. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, no wonder they do good business!
google avatar

Mikaela H.

Yelp
Really cosy breakfast/brunch place! Me and my friend ate the egg breakfast and charlotte's breakfast and it was so good! The breadbasket with different kinds of bread you get is realy to recommend, lovely bread! The price is very pleasing also, we got our brunch for 18/19 pln each!
google avatar

Supratim D.

Yelp
Charlotte is your go-to hip (read French) place in the centre of Kraków. The breakfast and brunch options are worth exploring. During busy times, service can be a bit slow, but if you are not in a hurry that shouldn't be a problem. Their breads are amazing and they don't give you a strange look if you ask for more. Must try - The Classic Breakfast, Croissants, Croque Madam Can Avoid - Macarons
google avatar

C M.

Yelp
Meh. Yes, the breads are delicious, the atmosphere lovely, the location on Plac Szczepański awesome, and it fills a niche for French cafes in Krakow. I love how some of the breakfasts come with champagne. But the service is crap and the menu is limited - it's all about the bread. But I just can't rationalizing going to brunch for an awesome bread basket when restaurants all over the city are upping their game in menu and service offerings. If you like the charm, try Camelot - more variety, better service. If I go back, I would order something hearty and get my money's worth - a croque madame or monsieur.
google avatar

Benjamin C.

Yelp
Stopped in a for a semi-quick breakfast before leaving the city. Pain au chocolate and jambone gruyere were great. Delicious cappuccinos, too. Nice view and feel.
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
Really enjoy Charlotte. A nice place on a small square with a good atmosphere, and reasonable, albeit somewhat slow, service. Food is good and pretty reasonably priced. Coffee tasty. Although it sounds funny, if you're going for breakfast, I think the basket of bread with choice of spreads is probably the best choice. A croissant with plenty of well-baked bread and delicious spreads (jams, butter, chocolate spread). The seats outside are great, though the inside is nice and open as well. I'd definitely recommend Charlotte for a breakfast or lunch in Krakow!
google avatar

Anna T.

Yelp
The best breakfast in Town, very relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a brunch or something quickly.

Jan L.

Yelp
Glorious Cafe near the city center of Krakow. Beautiful bread, phantastic white chocolate spread. We loved it!
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
I enjoyed the best Cappuccino of my trip in Europe here with the tasty and large Croque-Madam. I brought a book along and the waiter kindly adjusted the lights behind me for better reading. A quality dinning experience and very gentle to the pocketbook, I may add!!
google avatar

Emil N.

Yelp
I love this place. I come here for brunch and lunch during weekends, or just a cup of coffee and pastries from time to time. It is very popular, but they have a lot of tables in the basement and the service is swift. I usually don't have to wait for more than 5 minutes even if its full when I arrive.

Supitchar K.

Yelp
The taste of the food is all fine but the service and the logistics inside the cafe suck. I have to wait for my order for an hour because the waitress THOUGHT we received all of our food already lmao. And, the way she talked is kinda rude.

C G.

Yelp
Very cute Parisian cafe. I ordered the Charlotte breakfast, which includes a generous basket of different breads, a croissant, and coffee or juice. The strawberry jam and white chocolate spread were my favorite. There is an English menu. Will return again!
google avatar

Nickey J.

Yelp
I had their goat cheese and honey and thyme tartine which was delicious but what I really enjoyed here was the FRESHLY SQUEEZED OJ, you seriously have to try it if you go.
google avatar

Adriana A.

Yelp
Fantastic food and a great value in the most adorable setting. We had the French omelette, some granola with yoghurt, a croissant and the best latte in Krakow. A must stop for a quick but relaxing breakfast.

Basia W.

Yelp
Charlotte or Char is my favorite breakfast restaurant chain in Poland. Its atmosphere and service and food are impressive. Love going there on a weekend to chill and hang out with friends. I highly recommend ordering the breakfast sets with their homemade jams.
google avatar

Barbara O.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Just a block off the main square and well worth the very short walk. Freshly baked bread on premises and the croissants were to die for. There were 4 of us and we all loved it. Shout out to Natalia who found this gem and invited us to breakfast here. Don't miss it.
