Google
We had the BEST experience with Charlotte Rydables and our exceptional tour guide, Isaiah. We knew it was going to be fun, but we didn’t expect to learn so much interesting history about Charlotte while riding a piñata, a dragon, and a unicorn. It was well organized, timely, fun, informative, and just a fantastic way to spend an afternoon in Charlotte. We didn’t even make it out of the parking or before all 3 of us said we would definitely do it again.

B. K.

Google
Our experience on the Wild Things Tour with Charlotte Rydables was unforgettable! The ride was comfortable, informative and fun! I’m not a Charlotte native (I love it here) so the history tour was exactly what I needed to feel more at home and proud of my city! When you book, please request Loren! She was the best tour guide I’ve ever experienced!

Craig S.

Google
Charlotte Segway Tours was an incredible experience. None of us had been on a Segway before, but our guide Rod was great, and made it easy to learn. He also had amazing knowledge of Charlotte's history, sharing fascinating stories along the way. This was such a fun and unique way to see this beautiful city, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting. Thanks, Rod, for a great tour! ---Removing one star because the owner got my name wrong in their response.

Sidney Jones J.

Google
My wife and I had a great, “personalized” Rydable tour of Uptown Charlotte with our guide Laura; she was patient, knowledgeable, and fun as we cruised through all of the historic Uptown Charlotte sites! We loved the whole experience and will greatly recommend this tour (and Laura) to others!

Danita B.

Google
I had a total blast. I can’t believe I’ve lived in charlotte area 8 years and never done it. So informative. So fun. Isaiah was THE BEST and when I learned a ton! 10/10 would recommend and I’ll do it again!

Sally S.

Google
Rydables is such a fun way to see the city! I’ve lived here for nearly a decade, but I still learned a ton from Loran during our tour. This tour combines info about art, architecture, politics, history, and culture, plus you get to learn how the wards of Uptown are organized… all while zooming around, looking hilarious and amazing, making people’s day. We encountered locals and tourists alike who were so delighted to see us zipping by on giant unicorns, etc. 😂 I really enjoyed that Loran’s tour specifically wasn’t just white-washed history. She spoke with kindness, honesty, humor, and nuance so that we got a full picture of, for example, Charlotte’s role in the Revolutionary War and also the huge contributions of Harvey B. Gantt to our city. Her breakdown of how Romare Bearden park is laid out and how it represents different parts of his life gave me a totally new perspective on a park I’ve probably seen 100 times. She also took us by every gorgeous fountain and around every loop so that we really got to enjoy the zooming factor of the Rydables as well! Loran mentioned that she’s done a Black history tour on the Rydables for a private group, and I’d love to see Rydables offer that widely as an option available for booking. An art-focused tour that goes down Luminous Lane or a queer history tour would also be fun additions. Thanks so much, Rydables!

Google
This was such an unexpectedly fun experience, zipping around these ‘stuffed animal’ scooters. And the whimsical nature of them definitely turns heads, bringing a smile to the faces of everyone we passed. Loran was our tour guide and she is such a bundle of joy! Very informative tour with some surprising facts about the city, and she was so patient with all of us, knowing how much fun we were having at certain bits. My only “complaint” is that we got the hour long tour instead of the longer tour, it was just that much fun. Could’ve done it for hours with the beautiful weather we had

Michelle G.

Google
We took the Rydables Tour in Charlotte NC and we loved it. Loran was very knowledgeable and she made the tour fun. I would suggest taking the tour if you’re ever in the area. It was definitely a 10/10.

Martin S.

Yelp
It's fun just to ride around on the Rydables like little kids. But more importantly with a good guide like John Crunk, I learned a lot about the history of Charlotte, even though I have lived here for 35 years. It's often the case that people don't know their own city, and the tour is a painless to learn about your hometown.

Dan K.

Yelp
Our Segway tour was awesome! I knew riding the Segway would be at least half of the fun, but I didn't expect to learn so much and enjoy the learning. Our tour guide Isaiah did such a great job - he was super knowledgeable, was able to answer all our questions, and he adjusted when we looked like we were ready to get back on the road. All around good dude, and a great time!

Nadira R.

Yelp
This was an amazing tour and fun scooter ride. Our tour guide Loran was amazing, very knowledgeable about the area and she has a vivid personality.
google avatar

Akilah S.

Yelp
The ride was excellent. Being a first time rider, I was nervous, however the training and practice before the ride is too notch. David was a wonderful tour guide. We had a lot of fun.
google avatar

Donut D.

Yelp
We did the 1.5 Hour Historic Uptown Neighborhood Tour. It was both informative and fun. Son was very nervous on the Segway but the guide was patient and took time to make sure he felt comfortable and able to catch up. Definitely recommend! I personally think it is much more interesting than riding tour bus. I do suggest having more signs outside the building for directions to meetup.

Selina W.

Yelp
Ever in Charlotte NC, this is a must do! Great tour and excellent guide! The ride was extremely fun and enjoyable. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Great photo opportunities and I learned a lot about Charlotte. Would take this tour again!!! Be sure to ask for Loran, she is simply the best!!!
google avatar

Arthur R.

Yelp
Great fun! I've never been on a Segway before so they took the time and gave me instructions and a short video. Afterwards we were given helmets and began our tour of "Uptown" Wonderful experience and would definitely do it again!
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This was a great tour. The guide and everyone I dealt with was very friendly and responsive. It was so much fun and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn and see much of Charlotte while having so much fun on the Segway.
google avatar

Patrick C.

Yelp
Had a blast on my tour. What a great city and my tour guide was fantastic. Me and my family will definitely come back

Tony H.

Yelp
The most amazing way to tour Charlotte! James was an exceptional guide who I recommend highly! He provided so much history and information about uptown Charlotte. When I visit again, I will be back!

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in Charlotte and as a present I made reservations for a segway tour while in the city. It was months in advance and very easy to do online. It was for a Friday morning at 9am. We got to the meeting spot exactly on time and I was pleasantly surprised when it was just the 3 of us. Our guide, Rod, was awesome! We watched a short video. He took us outside on a corner to practice. At first, hubby and I both were a bit nervous but it took just a couple minutes and we became pros! Rod took us all over and gave us an amazing tour of downtown Charlotte. I had no clue Charlotte was so historical. He even took us to prime photo ops and took our pictures! He told us he was a local. You can tell because of his knowledge of Charlotte and it's history. We even got to see Michael Jordan's old apartment! Awesome trip! This is definitely a MUST!!

Thomas V.

Yelp
Holiday Lights Segway Tour is a must in Charlotte. We did this 90 minute tour from 6:30p-8:00p arriving at 6:00p for the safety video, paperwork and operational instructions. Rod and Isaiah were our Tour Guides. We visited Fourth Ward historical holiday decorated homes, Truist Park with holiday market and ice rink, and BOA Stadium with massive real Christmas tree. Rod provided lots of interesting and informative historical Charlotte history, people and places. This a something you should not miss during the holiday season.

Yelp
We had a great Segway tour yesterday. I took my son and daughter ages 23 & 25 and they loved it. I'm 60 years old. We all learned the Segway within 45 minutes including their safety video. I'm a skier so those skills helped to balance the Segway and make the turns. Very easy to learn. It was a good way to see parts of her city we haven't seen before and get a good overview of some of the sights. I loved seeing the 4th ward and the neighborhoods. Our tour guide Wells was a wonderful warm person. She took so great photos for us. My kids loved the tour- especially my son who had always wanted to ride a Segway.
google avatar

Bennett U.

Yelp
Great Guide and Experience! Really enjoyed learning the history of Charolette having fun.

Sandra E.

Yelp
Was delighted to be the only rider on my 2 Hour tour with Isaiah! He shared a lot of history of Charlotte and landmarks, and I shared some history with him as well. He is a great young man and I enjoyed his company during the tour immensely. Everywhere I go, I always look for a segway tour as it is the easiest way to see and learn a lot, with mobility, and in a short period of time. I highly recommend Charlotte NC Tours. The pre-tour instructions as to where to park and locating them were absolutely perfect! Thank you for validating the parking also!

Larry L.

Yelp
Fantastic people. Very polite and helpful. Our experience was incredible. Isaiah was our tour guide and he was informative and fun. We loved the ride and experience. Would recommend it highly.

steve b.

Yelp
First time on a Segway and it couldn't have been easier with the instruction from Rod. He was an amazing guide and made for a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend these tours and look forward to doing another soon.

Yelp
Charlotte tours offers an amazing service and perfect location. You get the best of everything in this tour: adventure, tourism, and history. Our tour guide James was extremely friendly and was very enthusiastic. He made our experience 100 times better. We toured almost all of the Carolina's and this was definitely the best part of our whole trip! We parked in the Bank of America garage which was the most expensive but they did offer E.V. charging which was handy! We paid $25 for parking and paid for charging as well. It says it's free for 3 hours but it did charge is 10 cents per kilowatt (about $1.48 for a few hours). I recomend this experience for anyone going to Charlotte! We will definitely be doing this tour again when we come back!

Brian And Kandy R.

Yelp
We drove into Charlotte at 2pm looking for a last minute tour opportunity. Whatta find! Carol called back with our guide secured and by 3 we were on our Segways headed out with Paul for a delightful tour pretty much tailored to our interests- history, gardens, architecture and restaurant recommendations for dinner! He was so informative and knew all the spots for great photos as we cruised through each ward and amazing parks n neighborhoods. We loved his dinner recommendation too! Thank you both!!

Yelp
Booked a 90 min tour to show the city off to my out of town guests. Didn't quite know what to expect, especially 1) I myself have never been on a Segway before and 2) living in Charlotte for 20 years makes me think I'm an expert in showing folks around. I was totally blown away at how easy it was to pick up using a Segway (you get a nice 30min training session before the tour starts so plan accordingly). Also allow time for waiver signing and all that jazz. They were very good about calling me the day before to let me know especially since Taste of Charlotte was opening that day so there would be some street closures. Aside from being stressed out-we were coming in from Matthews so the commute on Independence sucks so bad...luckily we left early enough and were only 8 or 9 minutes late. But still late... I hate being late. Anyways, there was one other gentleman in our tour group so I felt bad for the late start. We quickly went through the orientation and got to training. I'm so sorry but I never got the name of our tour guide... He was very good and knowledgable. We had an assistant, Prince, who brought up the end of our tour group and gave us a lot of encouragement for first time Segway users. I'll leave a little mystery to the tour so that everyone takes it (no spoilers). But we traveled throughout uptown... First, second, third, and fourth wards. Believe me, I definitely learned a lot of history and saw some things I had not seen in my Charlotte residency since '96. The shop is located in Overstreet Mall and not a lot of people get there (save for Uptown workers) so give your self some extra time to access the Overstreet Mall from wherever you park. It's right at the end of the skybridge that connects Founders Hall and the Omni Hotel buildings, next to the shoe repair and key shop. We only spent a few minutes in the shop for orientation (video), but it looks like they sell merchandise there... hoverboards... and maybe some affiliation with the b-cycle program (maybe you can sign up for subscriptions here for bike sharing station around town). After orientation, we went downstairs through the Omni parking garage to the segways where we had a small orientation on the side walk until we were all comfortable with operating the segways. Overall a great tour! I would definitely do it again (I'm a big history nerd) but it's an easy way to see the city without too much walking, plus its fun! I was just relieved I didn't fall on my butt or break any teeth.

Yelp
Lane was a great tour guide! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and quick to answer any questions. Highly recommend Lane!

Yelp
It's become our thing for every new city we visit to try to do a Segway tour and the husband found this one via Groupon. Finding the place to meet up could have been tricky, but the place provides excellent directions and alerts to keep you on time. After a intro video, we went across the street to a garage where the Segways week stored. I'd like to see say we're pretty seasoned as using Segways, especially after our tour in San Francisco. Our tour guide, Rod, took half the group of the more experienced riders and made us do a little test of hopping on/off as well as maneuvering the Segways before we were off. Rod was an awesome tour guide. He seemed to know those random facts that you can't find easily online from showing us the building that Cam Newton & Michael Jordan live to a hidden painting in a bank building. I also loved that he made a point to help us take pictures of us on the Segways. Other tours we've been on make us fend for ourselves or we have to ask (but we don't want to come off so needy) We definitely learned a lot and recommend this as a fun way to explore the city!

Nour Q.

Yelp
Rod was an exceptional tour guide. He took us places that my local Charlotte friends didn't even know about. I learned so much about the history and I'm so glad I decided to do the segway tour. It was my first time on a segway and Carol and Rod were very patient and accommodating. Book this tour!
google avatar

Carol G.

Yelp
Our group of five really enjoyed our Segway tour of Charlotte. We all live here and still learned some fun facts while visiting every ward in the city. Our tour guide James was great and he took time to review and teach us the basics. I had never been on a Segway and was a little wary, but he put me completely at ease. I'd highly recommend!
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
So many thanks to our guide, Lucas! My wife and I are from the area and had friends visit from NY. Rather than trying to figure out what to show them we did the taste of charlotte or what we called "eat, glide, and grin." So much fun. Even as residents, we learned so much and found places we've never seen. Lucas was awesome! Doesn't just know the tour speech, but really knows the history. And the food was perfect... Great selections! Where did we go?? You'll just have to find out yourselves. Highly recommended. Ask for Lucas.

David K.

Yelp
Very nice bike tour we took on a Saturday morning/afternoon. They mentioned that they had new bikes. They had 7 speeds so that is a plus. The trip was very flat except for one small hill. Our guide was somewhat knowledgeable but keep things moving. You will visit 3 of the 4 areas of this pretty town. So go and enjoy this nice tour for under 35 bucks.
google avatar

Suzanne K.

Yelp
The Van picked us up at our hotel and we had a very thorough tour of the whole city. The director was so knowledgeable about all the new buildings, the four sections of the city, and the outside areas as well. It was quite exciting to see all the growth happening here. We got to see where the Mint Museum was and walked over there later to enjoy the amazing art. Definitely book this tour.
google avatar

Ricki M.

Yelp
Third or Fourth tour with this group, #2 on a Segway, still the best!! Paul is a great tour guide, he really knows Charlotte.
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
Great tour of Charlotte. Rod was an awesome and very knowledgeable guide. Thoroughly enjoyed it!!
google avatar

Amoni C.

Yelp
I had a great training and 1& 1/2 hour tour with Rob. I'm new to Charlotte but even my local +1 was impressed with the historical info that Rob shared. The segways were fun to ride, our routes were safe and the scenery was pretty cool. I'd tour with Rob again.
google avatar

Roy A.

Yelp
We took the Uptown Tour on Segway. The tour sites were interesting and the tour guide knew his stuff. Our tour felt rushed with our tour guide wanting us to go faster as we were running behind. I don't fault the tour company exactly as all groups were to show up a half an hour before the tour but some showed up late and we lost roughly 20 minutes before we started the Segway tutorial. Still, this affected the quality of the tour.

tara b.

Yelp
The tour was amazing. The guide was so fun and offered lots of interesting facts. Very knowledgeable. He made sure we all felt very comfortable on the Segway before we took off. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Charlotte, and I was really looking forward to this segway tour. I had originally scheduled it for Saturday afternoon, and had to reschedule it to Sunday afternoon due to a conflict in my schedule. The site says that any rescheduling done under 24 hours cannot be honored, but they honored it anyway, so big thumbs up for excellent customer service! When buying my ticket online, I pre-paid for a parking voucher in the parking garage for $12 which is convenient, but I wouldn't do that again next time. There was a parking garage 3 blocks down, and across the street from the Mint Museum for only $5, so save your money! When I arrived at the office, we signed our waivers, watched the instructional video, and strapped our helmets on. We then spent about 45 minutes in the parking garage getting individual lessons and doing practice runs on our segways. Learning was soooo quick and easy, anyone can do it! Once everyone was comfortable with their skill levels, we were off for our tour! It was cold outside, and my hands were freeeeezing, so I do advise to bring gloves and make sure you dress warm depending on what time of year you go. James Rice was such a fantastic, knowledgeable, and high energy tour guide that I feel so lucky for being assigned to his tour! I did the 1.5 hour historical tour of uptown, and it was the perfect amount of time. I wouldn't do any shorter or any longer than that. I learned so much about Charlotte that I'm even considering moving down there later on down the road. This city is awesome and full of rich history, green efforts and appreciation of the arts, and initiatives to optimize the working, living, and social lives of each resident in its community. I can't wait to come back and try the other segway tours! I went home wishing I had a segway of my own haha. Awesome experience! P.S. - I repeat, Book with JAMES RICE - AWESOME Tour Guide!

John L.

Yelp
This was a birthday present. We are older and my wife, our friend, and her son went on a Segway tour today. It was SO fun and informative. We were a little nervous but our guide Rod and his helper James did a great job teaching us how to ride the Segways in minutes. We are educators and he did everything right. Rod and James gave great Verbal instructions, modeling, guided practice, positive reinforcement and finally independent practice before we began the tour. As if teaching us how to ride the Segway's, Rod was a fantastic tour guide. We live here and know quite a bit about Charlotte. Rod didn't embellish or make stuff up (as too many guides do to create interest when they are not knowledgeable about an area). Rod knew his stuff and passed along his insight as only a seasoned professional can.

Yelp
After taking the biking tour in the morning, which was wonderful, We decided to book the haunted walking tour for the evening. BIG MISTAKE! On our way to the meeting place, I received a phone call from the guide asking where we were supposed to meet, when I relayed the information to him, he stated he was "on his way". Upon arrival, he proceeded to read from his phone, blatantly make up facts, bypass several things that were pointed out to me on the biking tour which would have been great for the haunted walking tour such as the hanging tree, and played seriously ridiculous ghost sounds and music on his phone while walking through the neighborhoods. The hour and a half tour ended up being barely 60 minutes - much to our relief. Do not waste your time or money on the Haunted Walking tour. If you are able definitely take the bike ride tour and if you are lucky Ashby will be your guide!

Yelp
Even after living in Charlotte for 4 years I learned plenty of new things A) about Charlotte and B) in Charlotte (Uptown specifically). Our city has a greatly rich history and the guys that run Charlotte Tours do a fantastic job in making it fun and interesting. My folks were in town for the weekend and my dad mentioned taking a Segway tour when he was in Chicago with my brother. As we were driving through Uptown on a Sunday, we decided to try and book one for the afternoon in Uptown. Gave these guys a ring and they had space for 4. Perfect! Booked it, showed up on time, and away we went. The whole experience is great. They teach you how to ride a Segway so you can't fail. Then, the tour can take you all sorts of places. The French Quarter, around what is soon-to-be Romare Bearden Park, Fourth Ward Neighborhood and Park, 7th St, and tons of other places. We enjoyed it so much. Namely, Jordan and Luke are the best guides they have. They are young guys with great senses of humor. Ask for them specifically if you ever go. At a rate of $55 for an hour and a half tour on a segway, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. There's also a 2-hour version for $65, I believe. They also host a ton of other tours -- Bike, bus, walking, Ghost tours, etc. It might be touristy, but I can't wait to take another tour with friends or more family!

Dawn S.

Yelp
Our guide, Russell, was fantastic! We felt comfortable with his training and helping us get used to the Segways. We learned so much history about Charlotte in a fun way! What a beautiful and exciting tour! We loved how much of the city we got to see on the Segway vs on foot. The stops and breaks were perfect for pictures and mini group fun facts about the areas we were seeing. He even had shady spots picked out for the group to gather, gave us bottled water, and he took our picture! A great, memorable day in the crown city of Charlotte!

Yelp
Soooo much fun!! A friend and I were visiting Charlotte for leisure and thought that the Charlotte NC Tours segway tour would be a fun way to explore downtown. Man, my friend and I had so much fun! Rod was an excellent tour guide. He was really knowledgeable about the city's history and he had such a fun personality! Lil' Rod (not to be confused with Rod), instructed us how to operate the segways. He was also well informed and made us feel confident on the segways within minutes. We opted for the The Victorian Era - Center City - Historic 4th Ward tour and enjoyed every minute of it. My friend and I were lucky because the other people that were supposed to come on the tour didn't show up, so it was just my friend, Rod the guide and myself. Very personalized! All of the staff that we met were very friendly and left us with a wonderful impression of the city. Loved it!

Yelp
My first experience on a Segway and Michael and John were amazing trainers. Had the best time and John is a stellar tour guide. Will be back for sure next time I'm in Charlotte!

Norma S.

Yelp
My husband and I took this tour while visiting Charlotte and had a great time! We were nervous because it was our first time and didn't think we could do it. Tour guides were extremely nice, patient and helpful. We trained prior to going out and that helped! After the first 10 minutes it was easy and fun! Would definitely recommend!

Ruthie L.

Yelp
I treated myself for my birthday celebration. The tour was excellent and I would highly recommend! I'm already planning a group tour with my family. I'm bugging them to set a date soon so we can book the date. The tour guide, Rod was pleasant, patient and quite knowledgeable. He made sure we had a good time. I learned so much about Charlotte and the downtown area.
google avatar

Jean G.

Yelp
We have done several Segway tours here and they have all been great. Even though we have been here several times, we always see something new or learn new facts. Lucas was extremely nice and had a lot of facts to share. I'm sure we will be back.

Freddi H.

Yelp
I did a tour with a group of seven of my closest friends...with me being the one that hadn't ever done a Segway. I was all over the place on the sidewalk demo with our guide, Lucas. He wisely placed me behind him and even held onto my Segway through the streets of Charlotte for a few minutes while assuring me he would continue to do so throughout the tour if necessary. I realized I could do it once we were out of the busy areas for the rest of our 90 minute tour. Thanks, Lucas for building my confidence as well as giving our group a historical tour of the city and capturing some fun photos!

Nicole R.

Yelp
I wanted to see Charlotte in a different way so I got my family to try Segways. First we had group instructions and we all tried out the Segway so we could get comfortable with it. The instructors were very patient and worked with each one of us. Then we broke into 2 groups and rode through Charlotte on our Segways. Our tour guide John was very passionate about Charlotte. He gave us lots of facts and tidbits about the city. He made sure we rode safely around traffic and pedestrians. It was an awesome tour. Riding a segway should be on your bucket list!

Jennifer K.

Yelp
We took out out of town family on a Charlotte segway tour after Thanksgiving and everyone enjoyed teh excursion. Then circled back to one of the restaurants we learned about for lunch. Very fun day for all ages, 17 to 60! Rod was a terrific guide!
google avatar

Bill M.

Yelp
Ashby was an incredible guide! Took my mother for the 1.5 hour tour and it was an absolute blast!! Recommend this tour to everyone!
google avatar

Kathy R.

Yelp
Thank you Davis for such an excellent guided haunted tour through Charlotte. Not only did we get a tour of the spirits in Charlotte, we finished on a positive note to a most beautiful place I had not been before. This was my first time on a segway. Davis made sure I knew what I was doing before we were off and running. A few times I got stuck at the light he waited and gave clear instructions on being safe. This young man did an excellent job as a guide. I recommend NC tours while visiting Charlotte.

Yelp
A great way to experience Charlotte We were in the area for spring break. Found a segway food tour thru NC tours. It was Monday after Easter. It was going to be in the 70s and low humidity. I really wanted to aim to get this day versus any other day of the week because it was going to get hot the rest of the week. Scheduling was a bit bumpy, but the team really helped us out. They were understaffed and still found a way to accommodate us. Carol helped make the arrangements. She provide great directions/instructions for us to get there via text. Rod was our guide. He was so patient and accommodating. It was my husband, my 16 year old son and myself. We practiced outside and I was not doing great. Rod pulled me along with the tour. I was so grateful. I really got a chance to take in the tour without having to stress about driving the Segway. My son and husband were able to get the hang of it immediately. Once we were in flatter grounds, he had me try again, and I was able to do it! He was accommodating to what we want to get out of the tour. Given the teenager, I had opted to do some history but not a lot. And he did just that. We enjoyed the places we had visited for the food tour. The food we had were first for us. Always heard about it but just never tried it. It was a perfect weather day, no cloud in the sky. I truly appreciate Rod jumping in and giving us the tour even though he was not scheduled. We had a fabulous time. We highly recommend it to everyone. Also, the prices was excellent for the experience we got.

Yelp
Five star tour. Pre-tour training was great, as I was a bit nervous! Excellent way to see Charlotte!!! Highly recommend.
