Experience sitting on the wharf is quite good here. Good views and music, the ambiance offers views of ferry boarding and oceanic islands. Considering the food quality and portions the prices are on higher side. Hospitality is respectful and welcoming. Recommended for sure

If you want a fantastic dining experience in Paihia, look no further than Charlottes Kitchen. The food was amazing but I specifically enjoyed the margaritas, it’s hard to say which I enjoyed most the watermelon or mango, I suggest trying both. A very special thank you to Josephine and Autumn, the service is next level superb, as a solo diner Josephine made sure I felt comfortable and had the perfect view to enjoy my meal…. The food was immaculate, the service was amazing and the view was gorgeous! I was so impressed with how fast the food arrived and how lovely all the staff were. My diamond ring fell through the cracks in the decking above the ocean and the staff called a professional diver for me without me even knowing to find my ring. They are all so amazing and the kindest people. Please please give this restaurant a try. It was 1000000/10!

The vegan fungi pizza here was REALLY good. Strongly recommend trying it out. Service was a bit slow but tbh it was worth the wait. Also had a really nice view of the ocean so extra points for that

I love going here. Such a good spot as a local and also if I was holidaying here I would definitely recommend. It’s a good vibe with the music and the staff are friendly. I love sitting up at the bar with the view ~ We did quite enjoy ourselves here this particular night, Prosecco and pizza all the way x

Very lively restaurant with a great kitchen on the end of the pier. Love music on a Friday evening was a nice bonus. Would recommend.

Great location, owned/linked to Duke of Marlborough so they can catch you both sides of the harbour. Food was pretty nice, the raw fish as a main was delicious and I rated that but the shoestring chips were average only. You would think that the management would have the ducks lined up in service delivery but they missed when you look at this photo. Funny how a little thing like that can distort an experience.

VISIT: end of February 2020 We stumbled upon this place when we were trying to burn time before our Bay of Islands tour and could not be happier. We got to sit on the balcony and watch all the cruises coming in/out and just have a great view of the water. We had excellent cocktails, which they were nice enough to serve us while we waited for the kitchen to open as we got there before lunch started. Lunch was absolutely delicious! They also offer wifi, so its a great spot to relax for a little bit!

Hubby and I came here for lunch along with another couple we knew after a long day of touring around the Bay of Islands. Located right at the end of the wharf, Charlotte's kitchen is situated to get the freshest seafood. We ordered 2 dozen oysters which were much more expensive than other restaurants in the area but after I tasted them, I'm glad I ordered them ($38 NZ/dozen). Their fried calamari came super crispy. For my main, I ordered the House made Nero Squid ink pasta which came with pacific prawn, calamari, salmon caviar, market fish, sundried tomato and chili and was absolutely delicious. Our friends ordered the bluenose white dish which came on a herby couscous, turmeric parsnip purée and loved it. For dessert, even though I was too stuffed to eat another bite, hubby ordered my favourite panna cotta dessert which was so light and not overly sweet and not to mention photo worthy. All in all, everyone enjoyed their meal and we would happily go back next time we visit New Zealand.

This place is probably really nice in the heat of summer. It sits right at the end of the pier on the wharf and most of the seating is on the patio. I imagine when the weather is nice, it is unbeatable. However, during the shoulder season between spring and summer, it is cold as. We tried several things on the menu including the tuna tartare, white clam pizza, soup of the day, and the pork knuckle and I cannot say that I was impressed. The tartare's marinade was vaguely asian and did not really hit home for our party. The pork knuckle was a massive endeavor portion-wise, but in terms of flavor I found it very oily/greasy with minimal spices to kick it up in terms of taste. Interestingly enough, the pizza was the best item we had over the night, but I found the clams a bit fishy. Regardless, the crust and white sauce were executed really well and I think I would have enjoyed some other pizza order. On our night, there was live music which was nice to have to sweeten the atmosphere. Like most places in NZ, food comes slow so enjoy the view and your company.

Great spot for lunch in Paihia - Bay of Islands. Sits out on the town pier with a great view of the harbor. Service was attentive and the food was good. Had the mushroom soup which was nondescript- not much flavor. The Tuna was excellent well cooked and tasty served with rocket salad, buffalo mozzarella with a balsamic dressing. Go for the view and the food is just a bonus. Food delivery was a bit slow, but withe with view it was not an issue. I don't post too many ***** reviews as they are reserved for the exceptional. Definitely go to Charlotte's if you are in Paihia.

Mad house on the pier when sitting next to 3 families with 6 kids. Parents wanted to drink, kids wants to run, scream, & crawl. Outside of that, we had a great time!

The pork knuckle is the signature dish and I can tell why, it was amazing! Had a side salad with the rocket and pear which was the perfect combination. The pork somehow manages to be big super tender, yet have the most amazing crackling on the outside. This meal alone was worth the trip to Paihia.

We really enjoyed the service and the food. We ordered the muscles - I don't usually eat muscles but these were to die for! Next we had the Lamb Shoulder...it seems pricey but it's for 2 people and could feed 3 if you eat all the veg. It was wonderful. Added a bottle of Cabernet and the food all went down well. Dessert was a naughty Hot chocolate for the wife and a 10 year tawny port for myself and all was right in this remote part of the world. I highly recommend this establishment.

This lovely restaurant sits right on Paihia wharf, has beautiful views of the bay and an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere. After reading great reviews on yelp, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. My daughter and I were greeted by smiling faces who were willing to accommodate us for dinner even though we hadn't made reservations. And they were busy. I suggest reservations. I ordered fish (fresh caught that day) which was delicious and she ordered the lamb, also cooked perfectly and tasted great. To our surprise their was unexpected entertainment before our meal. An announcement was made. A fisherman caught a 615 lbs Blue Marlin and was bringing it in to be weighed. Excitement filled the place when they hoisted the catch up on the dock. They also had live music entertainment that night.

Such a cool spot on the pier overlooking the water and the Bay of Islands! This little bar/restaurant is trendy, casual, and has a good selection of alcohol and eats. We came for a drink but ended up staying for four and a pizza... oops. They had live music on the night we were there and they have a few beers on tap. The Black Dog range of IPA's (there is a NZ one and an American style) were tasty, and my boyfriend and I shared a margherita pizza after two pints of beer. Though it is a completely fabulous and beautiful place to hang out, it isn't for the budget crowd (well, at least the food isn't). Beers run about $7-$9 and mains start at $20 and go up much higher. If you're on a budget I'd recommend coming for a beer or two and getting food somewhere else, or splitting a pizza. They also have a pizza bread available for $10 if you're looking for light fare. Great place to hang out and I'd totally be back!

The staff are incredibly friendly and the food was good. The squid ink pasta had local seafood that was cooked perfectly, however the noodles were quite soft and mushy. The Panna Cotta was fantastic, particularly when eaten with the passion fruit gel.

Favourite meal in New Zealand this time around. Food was full of flavour. Tuna was so fresh and delicious. Son had pizza - said one of best he's ever had. Great wine. View and location cannot be beat. Service was excellent. Highly recommend- you will not be disappointed.

Awesome food! Good drinks, however the margarita was a little low on tequila. The service was great and the waitress friendly. Appetizers rocked too except they call them entrees! Not sure why! But .... its all good. Sweet as!

We went to Charlotte's Kitchen on the Sunday of Labour Weekend and both loved it. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Bay of Islands. The market fish and steak we ordered were both so tasty. It was very busy because of the weekend it was but the servers were so apologetic and even gave us a complimentary drink. The views are amazing and will be even nicer in Summer when they've the windows and awnings open.

Just off the bus from Auckland so hungry and thirsty. 30m away was charlottes. Nice cold tiger beer then McKenzie's oysters caught 3 miles away and a hearty pork and noodle soup. Everything made to order and fresh. Super view and friendly service. Just right. Went back for another go: beer still cold and carne wood fired pizza pretty good. Nice and crunchy.

What a treat! Went two out of the four nights I was in Paihia. The wait staff was outstanding - attentive and fun. The seafood and "pork knuckle" delicious. When each dish landed on the table we all went "wow"!

Great friendly 'warm' service, beautiful location and incredible food. On all accounts the best place to eat at Paihia. We had the blue cheese pizza, 1/2 tempura oysters and the soft shell tacos. All three plates were fantastic (tempura oysters were insanely good) and the staff were attentive and friendly. They have done a lot right here and couldn't complain about anything. Would go back again.

Delicious. This would be my recommendation for a nice dinner out in Paihia. Excellent location on the wharf, although when it rains it can be a little wet. Good atmosphere and service. Have eaten here several times and the food has always been great. The pizzas are very good, and lots of good seafood options. Eat here.

This place is right on the wharf, great views, great staff and service, we went for cocktails. They had a good selection but would also make anything that wasn't on the menu. Would come back and recommend to others.

Great coffee. Great breakfast. I just wanted to say breakfast is good too after noticing all the reviews seemed to talk about evening meals. I will say it was pretty quiet so if atmosphere is a big deal to you it's not the best. I liked it as it meant the waterside tables were all available.

I was expecting this place to be one of those expensive touristy places with bad service, just because it is located so convenienty right at the ferry terminal. Instead, we had a wonderful experience, from the best in class service to the yummiest food we had in a while. My husband fell for the fish dish, while I enjoyed a buckett of mussles with a side of delicious aioli sauce. Desert was awesome. There is a kids menu too. What more to ask for?

This is an excellent restaurant right over the water in Paihia. The staff are equally excellent, especially the hostess Kat, who went above and beyond to care for our party. We even scored the best table in the place. And Matt was also very goid as our server, despite seeming to have too many tables to take care of. All of our meals were delicious. Our friend loved the seafood pasta dish that contained enough seafood to justify the name. Our other friend had the chicken dish, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Hubby and I each had the market fish, snapper, which was grilled perfectly. My only complaint was the size of the snapper dish. Our friends' plates contained healthy portions, but the snapper dish seemed paltry by comparison, and hubby's dish had a significantly larger piece of snapper than mine. And the sides on the plate were almost non-existant. I actually left there hungry. I would return here, but would definitely ask more questions before ordering.

Very cool restaurant! Definately top in paihia! Great decor, always means great food! Originally looking I thought it was American so I was put off. After going and having the pizza (proper pizza oven), a caprese salad So good Great service Definately go here if your looking for good food and good service :)

We came here for an afternoon beer and we were welcomed at the door. Overall great service from the get go. Went for a drink and decided to return for dinner. Good prices, great food and service. Beautiful setting overlooking the bay. Make sure to book in peak season as we witnessed others being turned away. Popular place with good reason.

I ordered fish. It was well prepared and tasty. The other plates that were ordered by other members of my party also seemed good. One complaint I have, but not sufficiently important to take away from the five stars; the dessert. I ordered rice pudding. The rice was under cooked, it was not creamy, and it had cardomon.

Food was good not amazing but a good place to have a beer and a decent meal. Would stay away from the sides excluding the fries. "Greens" was just a broccoli with what amounted to a salad dressing sauce mirroring miso. The market fish was great, pizza good as well and the grilled calamari was average.

Surely the best place to eat in paihia, the carne pizza had to be one of the best pizzas I've had! Very nice new interior and views and the staff were friendly

Delicious grilled tuna, but the waiter or the kitchen messed up and brought it medium rare instead of medium. A lovely view of the bay and good live music. The wait staff was friendly too. Good chocolate dessert.

Best white clam pizza I have had. Even better than New Haven, CT. And the view from the restaurant certainly doesn't hurt.

Very good food in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Good choice for a pleasant dinner on the water. Many tables have good views of the Bay.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in NZ. Excellent service, staff were just wonderful, helpful and assured us there served HALAL food. Excellent location - looking out into the sea. The food was great, by the way.

I lived in Paihia for several months earlier this year, and this was my absolute favorite place. Great food (try the pizza) and good cocktails, plus a great view of the water. One time we were there we even got to witness a double rainbow. The servers were always very friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend over the other waterfront restaurants!

I dined here with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed it. We were a little apprehensive because the spot seemed like it could be touristy, which usually means mediocre food at best. We were pleasantly surprised! The service was excellent and the food was amazing! Very friendly staff and the restaurant did not have a touristy feel. Great location!! I would highly recommend Charlotte's Kitchen.

Great service, very friendly and polite staff. Food came out really quickly, there was three of us, we had the market fish, pizza special and the Scotch Beef. All three were excellent, would definitely come back

A great spot for a restaurant by the water I walked in with such optimism for a great night. Frankly I was disappointed by the quality of the meal at our whole table the only decent food item were the fries. Understandably a busy night but if you can't handle to serve so many people limit your numbers - mains arriving at a table before entrees is forgiveable if at least the food is nice. Also blaming guests for poor service organisation (true or not) is just bad customer service. In an attempt to say something nice the drinks and drink service was great.

We went here for breakfast upon reading great reviews of this restaurant, while the breakfast menu was quite limited & unusual( not your usual bacon & eggs etc) the stand out option was the bacon belly dish, a bit like a fancy eggs benedict, three of our group ordered this and it was fantastic in flavour only a little light on the bacon( think one streaky bacon rasher) . The coffee was average but the service was friendly & well priced. Wouldn't highly recommend for breakfast due to the limited options but if you usually go for eggs benedict give it a go! Nice views too

Wonderful meal with friends at Charlotte's kitchen. We had the lamb rump, delicious, so tender, great choice. The menu is not huge, however everyone loved their meals, there were eight of us. Now the staff, just how great we're they, lots of laughs, and more laughs. Certainly a place we will take family and friends again and again.
