Honestly not a great experience. Bathrooms were covered in pee, soap was spilt everywhere, and the looked gross and poorly kept. Water bottle thing after security didn't work. Thankfully a person at the one shop there was willing to refill my bottle. Wifi is like 2.5/0.5mbps download/upload speed, so good look doing anything more than checking the weather. Security was fine, there's a decent amount of seating. At least there was AC. Felt like an airport you'd see in a 3rd world country, not a country where you give half your paycheck to taxes. There's either immediate drop off parking or paid parking. It's fine overall. I dislike it. There are better airports and FBOs around the country and having no working water past security is not fair to people on a 35 degree Celsius day. Some basic maintenance and cleaning could get this review up higher. Maybe I was just there at a bad time.

You walk off the plane onto the tarmac, then into the small one-level red brick building. Your luggage is off-loaded quickly as there can't be more than one plane arriving at a time. If you have to wait for your ride, there is a surprisingly good restaurant inside with pleasant servers. Don't sit on the dark dreary side. I discovered a nice glassed-in area on the other side of the wall! Ahhhh! That's better! If leaving PEI, there's a nice glassed-in area next to the general waiting room that you can enjoy in the Summer months. It was quite a pleasant discovery on my last flight off-island. Nicer than the general waiting room.

One of the hottest days and they barely have ac on! Crazy! All my chocolate souvenirs are melting. Friendly staff and easy security but the flight was way too expensive in order for the ac not to be working.

AC 631 April 30, 2025 management made decision to board manually due to ‘technical difficulties’ at 0506. The flight is scheduled to depart at 0515. Passengers have been in line waiting and ready since 0300. There are hundreds of people here all stressed out and WILL miss connecting flights from Toronto due to incompetent management and irresponsible decision making. Unreal and completely preventable.

Very tiny airport with 1 small departures concourse and waiting area and a couple small gates. Boarding/deplaning are done via airstairs/walkway bridges, you you'll need to walk onto the aprons. It's great for aviation enthusiasts but if you're a typical traveller you might not like it. Not a busy airport at all, when we flew out, we were the last departure of the day and it was only mid afternoon haha.

Charlottetown Airport is one of 122 airports I have visited around the world. There are two small gates and one snack shop that has a TV and serves alcohol. It is one of the smallest airports. There isn't much to do here if you come too early. The airport security was efficient.

Charlottetown Airport is the main airport serving Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. It's located about 3 nautical miles (approximately 5.5 kilometers) north of the city. The airport is part of the National Airports System and is owned by Transport Canada, but managed by the Charlottetown Airport Authority. It offers non-stop flights to Toronto and Montreal, with seasonal flights to other Canadian cities and connections worldwide.

Google
Overall the airport is good. But its quite small and seems that Charlottetown has many government conventions and place is packed with people. Security line was very quick and easy and staff is quite friendly, but not much options for food, so get some food before you come as the only place there is a small stand that has some limited food (that some menu items are not available all the time) but you can have some chips, beer and wine. Also there is a small gift shop before security with limited items, so if you are looking to get something from PEI, get it before you get to the airport.

Yelp
Great small airport servicing Prince Edward Island! Has good connections to Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, etc. Very easy to navigate and security lines are very short. People here are also extremely friendly and helpful! Going to planes consists of going outside to the plane so if there's bad weather, plan accordingly.

Yelp
Really disappointed in the lack of amenities for passengers travelling with infants. Upon check-in I asked the representative if there was a nursing room, and he directed me to the family washroom. Besides the fact that this is not an appropriate place for anyone to eat, there was not anywhere in the bathroom to sit and nurse other than the floor and the toilet. I also expected the gate agent to allow those travelling with children to board first, but this did not happen. I was forced to wait for my zone to be called, and this resulted in lining up outside the plane in December where my 4 month old was losing her mind because of the cold and loud plane engine. This was super distressing for us both.

Yelp
A very, very tiny airport- cute as Charlottetown! Ha! Easy security line! Two flights a day to Toronto, I hear. A no frills airport. Seriously just in and out. No fancy restaurants, just one shop with quick bites and drinks. But rental cars are available: Avis, Hertz and a few more. Very convenient!

Yelp
This is a great small airport to use. It is close to Charlottetown and easily accessible from main roads, parking is always available (not the cheapest, but at least you'll find a spot). The interior is well maintained and everything looks new and sparkling. Check in and security is a breeze, and the amenities past security are more than adequate considering there are no real long haul flights from this airport. Luggage also quickly comes out on the conveyer belt after landing. One thing that would make the place nicer would be a lounge or bar outside the security area, but I guess you can't have everything!

Yelp
Charming airport with well optioned gift shop and cafeteria outside of security. Nicely lit and expeditious process through check-in. Car rentals are a breeze to work with and are located on site. We got a great deal through Kayak which routed us to Avis via Euro-Cars. One HUGE benefit of YYG is the gratis luggage carts. Very neighbo(u)rly gesture on the part of our PEI hosts. ATM is conveniently located at arrivals. Don't pull a muscle trying to get Canadian tender - we managed very well using our U.S. Debit/credit cards for the largest and smallest transactions AND the exchange rate is fair. Watch the planes come and go from either inside or outside - plenty of viewing options. Budley's restaurant & lounge serves various expected plates (chowder, lobster rolls, fish & chips) and appear reasonably priced compared to the rest of St. John's Island. :)

Yelp
The Charlottetown Airport is small but effective, and it's a nice entryway to the island. Baggage claim is easy. The people are friendly. When you enter the tiny building, there's info about PEI to help you plan your stay. Overall a nice airport.

Yelp
I love this tiny yet efficient airport! PLUSES: - Small - cute, compact, easy to navigate - you can walk the entire length in about a minute - Baggage claim is FAST! - Great staff in security/customs - friendliest I've come across! - Fantastic tourism information with staff MINUSES: - Snarky Counter staff (I'm looking at you, female staff over 50 - I've experienced 3 or 4 of you now and you must have some sort of Crusty Club code about not smiling or being nice to people...) - No dining options... there is a little INTERESTING TIP / INFO TIDBIT: There is a Canada Post mailbox inside the airport to send those last-minute postcards! I had about 20. Yes I still snail mail. I have never waited longer than 15 minutes for my baggage!!! I know. And, needless to say, this airport will always hold a special place in my heart because it is the gateway to my favourite place in the country!

Yelp
Tiny little airport on a small island. However it has the basic necessities to keep human life form functioning and from moving to a state of agitated craziness! What you love of these small Canadian airports is that you can land and be curbside in about 20-30 steps. Or vice versa at check in. Car rental is located at kiosks when you land so you can traverse this island. A small gift shop has small souvenir items if you have missed something for a loved one or relative. Also there is a snack counter post security with a lounge where sandwiches, salads, beer and alcohol are served also. I purchased a lobster roll sandwich that was quite tasty. I'd concur that imitation crab was mixed in at a ratio of 45% icrab /55%lobster. Overall it helped fill a tummy during a long delay. Sure this airport may be a bit dated in decor however it makes up in charm and friendliness!

Yelp
My first and only visit to PEI was a result of a poorly booked airline ticket booked through points. At first I was dreaded my 5 hour layover in Charlottetown as I had no clue about the city, the airport or anything. This airport was by far the smallest airport that I've ever been to! It has an arrivals gate and a departures date...that's all!! Although it was very small it was very efficient and the staff was extremely helpful What is nice is that it is extremely easy to get to the city via taxi and at a reasonable price. As far as airports go, I can't say anything more than that!

Yelp
Budley's has THE BEST french fries ever and that's all I came here to say.

Yelp
Excellent airport to fly out from :) very nice restaurant prior to security where you can have a sit down breakfast, and staff at the air canada counter were very nice and accommodating. Security was not a hassle for once! Didn't even have to take off our shoes! Restrooms were very clean and the waiting areas are nice and clean and can seat many customers.

Yelp
This is a very small yet friendly airport. You will enjoy the ease of not having to rush to this airport as the security gates only open when a flight is close to boarding time. The airport does boast free wifi and a pretty good cafe while you wait for those early morning Air Canada flights.

Yelp
A quaint little airport that's as lovely as the locals, right down to the customs agents. For maximum enjoyment, have enough sense to experience the airport without the detriment of being entangled with Delta Air Lines.

Yelp
I was very impressed with this little airport. I was nervous to fly as I hadn't for a very long time, so I was quite distracted and at the last minute I noticed I had left the rental car keys in my purse! It was too late to leave and turn them in myself. I walked up to the Air Canada wicket and Amy said she would not have a problem doing that for me, just leave the keys with her, I was so relieved. This type of service is not what you would of received in a big airport. I can't say enough good things about this airport and Amy of course!
