Charm Churee Villa

Absolutely amazing! This place is truly beautiful, super idyllic and perfectly located right on the beach. From the moment you arrive, you immediately feel relaxed and at home. The atmosphere is peaceful, special, and full of charm. The people are incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming, you can really feel how much love and care goes into this place. Such a cool location, perfect for switching off and enjoying the surroundings. We felt completely comfortable and are very grateful for this wonderful stay. Highly recommended, we would definitely come back! 🌴✨

My friends and I had an incredible stay at Charm Churee, I could not recommend it more. The reviews are correct that many of the rooms are 'abandoned' but the rooms that Trin (the host/owner) have restored are great and we had a wonderful stay. Trin was very attentive and helpful at every step of our stay and even had a private dinner cooked for us that we ate in the restored lobby overlooking the ocean. It's rustic but has so much character and my friends and I had an amazing time. The location is great- a short walk to town and great access to Jansom bay which has great snorkeling, swimming and views. I cannot recommend Charm Churee enough if you are interested in staying somewhere unique with a great story. Unforgettable stay!

Good people , good vibes … amazing view from the Lobby / reception ( best Place to sit and Watch Boats)This Place is different , has a lot of character. Trin was kind and very helpfull. Bathrooms Are already new done but the rooms in all have still a way to Go to be restored (wich is ok if you Travel on low budget). Short Walk to the Center in 10 Minuten was totally Fine for us Even at Nights. If you Like djunglefeeling and authenticity this is your Place to be! Beach is a good Place for lost Places lovers. interesting to read about the Story of the House/ Community to gain back Control, by staying there you Support the local Community!! Ina

Stayed here for almost a week and I was so happy with everything. I was slightly concerned at first because the reviews were split and many people commented about it being an abandoned place HOWEVER I am glad I still decided to book a room here because staying at this hotel was my highlight in koh tao. And to make it clear, the place is not abandoned but they are simply rebuilding and bringing new life to it. From the very beginning Trin and his team were very welcoming and offered all types of help. The room was clean, spacious, had so much character and most importantly we had a great view from our big balcony. While it is true that the hotel is undergoing a big makeover, this did not affect us at all because there were no construction sounds of any kind and the main area of the lobby and were the rooms are located are all finished and well maintained so you don’t even notice anything. You also have access to a beautiful small private beach. At night you can even see the night sky with tons of stars from your balcony so the great view stays for 24 hours After checking out I forgot something in the room and upon contacting the staff they were so kind and actually shipped it to my next address, so the service is a 5 star even after checking out. I had a great time here and would definitely choose to say here again if I come back to koh tao.

I have been staying at this resort for a full month, and here is my honest review ➡️ This place is run by a small team of family and friends who are dedicating everything they have to the reconstruction of the site. Seeing their commitment is truly admirable.
The resort is not perfect, and that’s part of the story. You’ll see signs of past damage and nature reclaiming space, which only makes the work being done here more impressive, if you ask me. They do things differently than most places around Koh Tao. Nature always comes first. You can clearly see that everything they do is aligned with their values: transparency, honesty, respect for nature, and genuine customer service. They are also visionaries, actively affiliating with social enterprises (with the goal of one partnership per room). This means that your stay directly gives back to the Thai community 🤝🇹🇭 ***So what does it actually feel like to live in a resort under these circumstances?*** 🏠 The rooms The rooms that are currently operational (around 10 to 20 at the moment I believe) are comfortable and beautiful. Rustic and full of character. Many of them offer stunning ocean views! There is hot water, ac, and large, comfortable beds. They are well maintained, but if anything needs attention, it’s taken care of quickly, usually the same day or the next morning. The team is genuinely attentive and always happy to help. 🏖️ Jansom Bay A beautiful natural bay is just a 5-minute walk away and is free to use for guests. It’s absolutely stunning!!
The bay is quite small and can get a bit crowded during the day since it’s also open to the public (with an entry fee for non-guests). But if you wake up early, there's nobody and having your morning coffee on this picture-perfect beach is magical.
The bay is cleaned daily and very well cared for. There’s a small bar (sodas, beer, coconuts, etc) and an outdoor shower to rinse off. There are very few lounge installations at the moment, which I personally love because it adds to the natural beauty of the place. 🔨 Noise & renovation Is it noisy because they’re renovating? Not at all. I honestly don’t even understand how they manage it 🤯
I work online and spend a lot of time on the premises during the day, and I’ve barely heard a thing. 📶 Wi-Fi The Wi-Fi works very well in the lobby, where you can sit on many couches or at different tables while enjoying a magnificent view 🌄
It didn’t really reach my room (I was in room 55, which is quite far from the lobby), so I can’t speak for rooms closer to it. 💛 The staff Amazing. hands down the best part of the stay. Warm, helpful, kind, and genuinely present.
They will make you feel like family. 📱 Online presence Their online presence and photos can be confusing. I think the previous management still controls some of the listings and images.
They are, however, very active on Facebook (Charm Churee Villa) and Instagram (ccvogteam—not Charm Churee Villa). 
If you see photos showing a pool or a restaurant, please note that these are currently not available. But given their dedication and love for the place, I truly believe these will return in time! 🍽️ Restaurant & pool There is currently no restaurant or pool, but one of the lovely ladies on site can cook food for you 🥰 🔁 Would I come back? Absolutely. 100%, I can’t wait to come back!

Here I am trying to find a constructive criticism, but I can’t seem to find any. I truly enjoyed my stay and always felt welcomed. I felt like more than a guest, which I think is truly special.

We spent 8 nights in room 64. The room was well equipped and in good condition. At first we were shocked of the destruction and poor condition of most of the resort, but when we learned of the backgrounds, our hearts melt with understanding and compassion. Next time we'll visit Koh Tao, we will definitely book with Charm Churee again, just to see how the place has recovered from the sad history. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only thing I would ask of Charm Churee, is to make your story more available on platforms like Agoda so people could choose to choose you based on your story.

‼️🚨 THIS HOTEL IS ABANDONED 🚨‼️ Don’t book anything as this place is fully abandoned and trashed. However you can go to Jansom Bay and enjoy the beaches and continue along the winding trail to get to Sai Nuan Beach. Note - paid 100 THB to a woman by a street sign if you follow google maps from the pier.

The resort is closed (and from the look of the buildings it has been for quite a while) but you can pay 100 THB for access to the grounds which allows you to walk down to Jansom bay where there are beach chairs and even a bar that serves some drinks. It’s quite strange walking through the resort that has been completely taken over by the jungle, but the bay is very nice and quiet given that its not easily accessed. Make sure to take the first path down on your right after paying the lady, this takes you straight to the bay. I took the other road and ended up hiking through the mountains for a good 10-15min before finding my way down (it was quite a cool feeling to wander in this place though)
