Vintage clothes and accessories within a block of 2 other ones. The vintage clothes are affordably priced. A lot of items were in amazing condition.

Google
Great for a curated vintage find! Everything has been hand selected and brought to the store with intention. No reason to waste hours sifting through piles for top finds when the Vintage Charm already has done it! In addition to vintage finds they have a selection of crystals, incense, candles, and small gift ideas and accessories.

Google
Magical little vintage store with killer selection. I loved the way the store was organized and decorated. They have a nice variety of crystals (with nice labels & descriptions), true vintage clothing, jewelry, and handmade care products. As a lover of vintage, this shop felt like a dream come true.

Google
Charm School Vintage carries a great selection of vintage clothing, shoes, and accessories - but I have to dock a star because the employees were actively ignoring customers during my visit (even after I said hello). I have super chill expectations of customer service, but that didn't feel great.

Jasmine C.

Google
One of the cutest vintage stores I've ever been to. The staff is incredibly sweet and the accessories, clothes, and crystal selection is superb! Highly recommend checking it out!

Google
Cute shop, but the employees selectively greet customers. Myself and my partner were 1 ft away at the counter and were totally ignored while the employees talked about their personal life. Another customer came in and were greeted right away. Even someone in their 20s should understand that’s rude.

Google
Went to the store and we greeted the lady that was working there. She didn’t even say a word. They have cute stuff though. More high end, good quality, can find a decent price, too. I would not go back because the lady was so unfriendly. Bummer!

Google
This place has beautifully curated, actual, vintage stuff! I bought a gorgeous scarf and upon leaving, I saw a gorgeous-- shiny--burgundy, velvet jacket with dragon stitching in the back-- from the 80's in great condition! I had to have it! ... fun fact: it's so original that you cannot find it ANYWHERE online! Anyway, to the fun stuff...I went to a live music venue and I was spotted by the owner (who I never met). She's like " that's my jacket"!-- what A SMALL WORLD! She told me she was going to give me a little discount and she's a woman of her word. Today, I look at my bank account and realized that she gave me a discount!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love this place! Y'all should deff go check out out! Hands down, the best!

Yelp
This place is beautiful with so many things but very pricey. Items are well cared for and there is a decent selection but overall the cost of items is very high.

Yelp
Such a fun shop! Didn't walk in with intentions to buy anything but the accessory selection was too cute very friendly service, too. If I lived locally, this would be my go-to!

Yelp
Great place to shop, prices varies between pricey and okay, but it's high quality and its worth it, if you looking for it to last. I will continue shopping. the owner and the other ladies are so sweet, you will feel right at home

Yelp
JUST GO HERE. I rarely write reviews, but HAD to take the time to share that this place is a GEM. It is truly a curation of beautiful, vintage pieces that can be integrated in to a modern wardrobe without looking costume-y. The owner, Micah, was incredibly kind and helpful. The store is also in a great neighborhood, so it's not just shopping, it's the full Austin experience...after you check out the crazy cool clothing, jewelry (new, not vintage), and the gifts (journals, cards, candles, etc) at Charm School, you can get some coffee or tacos nearby or walk across the street and write on the "Before I Die..." sign. Can't say enough good things about this store.

Yelp
Such a lovely vintage shop with so many great finds. I snagged the great pair of palazzo pants that I'm gonna wear everywhere! Staff is friendly and helpful! As usual, it's hard to find sizes in vintage that are size inclusive. Hopefully they'll find some more pieces that are bigger in size.

Yelp
Wow - first of all, the folks working here are more than helpful - their knowledge of vintage jeans is especially helpful! Secondly, They have a large selection of vintage jeans for women to try on. The shop is quaint & color coordinated by rainbow colors to ease shopping experience. The pieces are true vintage - the tag will say the decade of the piece and the brand and size. I was really impressed with the curation and quality of the clothing - their buyer must be very knowledgeable. The prices are affordable considering the quality and curation of the clothing. This place is deserving of all 5 stars!

Yelp
This weekend I had a few close friends in town and I wanted to take them here because it's one of favorite vintage stores in Austin. What I experienced was anything but tasteful. The individual working there openly ignored another customers questions about sale merchandise because she was on her phone, was not respectful during the checkout process, and had quite an attitude when my group was leaving the store. I was really taken back by the whole experience because I really love coming here. I hope in the future I don't experience something like this again.
google avatar

Yelp
My teen was thrilled with this shop. Very cute things and very personable staff. We will come back to town just for this experience again!

Yelp
I love Charm School! Everyone that works in the shop is friendly and welcoming. A wonderful selection of vintage, crystals and apothecary. One of my favorite shops to browse, you never know what you will find. I will be back! Thank you!

Yelp
Love Charm School Vintage! A must when you're in Austin. I've purchased several pieces from here and loved each one. I'm looking forward to purchasing more from them. Mika was a joy to deal with and cares for her clients & her shop. I will be back when I'm back in ATX!

Yelp
After getting lunch, this was my first stop in Austin and it didn't disappoint. The store front is really cute. I ended up stumbling across a winner before I set foot inside the store - a textured leopard midi skirt. The skirt was $20. I got it tailored and it fits perfectly. I took it with me on a recent trip to Spain and loved it. The shop is well organized. They have a solid amount of inventory but it doesn't feel overwhelming or chaotic which can sometimes be the case with vintage and second-hand shops. I found several items I liked enough to try on and and they were all reasonably priced. The sales clerk was welcoming and helpful. She let us store our luggage by the counter as we shopped. I'd recommend checking them out if you're in the area, and even if you're not.

Yelp
Amazing stuff!!! I got some awesome stickers, candle, and a journal. I stopped in here because it's right next to my favorite coffee spot (Try Hard Coffee) and was so pleasantly surprised. The clothes seemed a little pricey though. For anyone who loves Incense, candles, journals, jewelry....this is the place for you! The hippy-esque vibe was for me.
google avatar

Yelp
The definition of white liberal racism. Showed blatant disrespect for myself and a friend of color and let their two white male friends budge in front of us. Proceeded to chat between purchases as we waited and then also attempted to hide giving both men huge discounts "just because." Fuck this place and the people who work in it.
google avatar

Yelp
CUTE. My amiga and I were in Austin for a wedding last fall and I totally forgot to gush about this vintage shop! It is seriously deserving of these five star reviews, which are what brought us there in the first place one afternoon when we were cycling around and exploring. The merchandise varies from legit gorgeous leather bags and what I might even classify as antique dresses... to more fun "vintage-light" stuff, but all of it somehow translates well to real life. And all this well-curated secondhand goodness is housed in the most precious little house.

Yelp
So, picture what you like about mom and pop shops but replace mom and pop with a super fashionable, 20-something, sweetheart of a woman who seems to know exactly what you're looking for. That's Charm School. I went in one day totally stumped on what to get my sister for Xmas and the owner walked me through the decision-making process. The place was even serving delicious cocktails that night and it filled up with current and potential friends. Put this place on your list, folks. Totally worth a visit.

Yelp
LOVE! Great selection and beautiful energy here. I found so many pieces that I fell in LOVE with. Serious place for gorgeous vintage pieces for all tastes and sizes.

Yelp
The prices are good, the clothes is somewhat organized by color (for example, there was a 90s wolf tee in the "black" section along all the other black colored tops and 50s dresses). The decor is chic, antique meets clean-modern boutique style. I came in looking to purchase a skirt (or anything really)but their skirt selection was superrrr small. When you open the door the first rack in the middle is where they have the high waist cut off shorts (priced 40) they only had about a dozen then a couple of skirts and some light weight fabric pants. I walked around and looked at everything but didn't really find a unique piece that I haaad to have. There were some dresses priced about $38-$40 - the type of style that I see all the time at the thrifstore priced for 4 bucks. The girl working there (I'm assuming it was not the owner because she was not charming at all) - when I asked her about the rack next to her she was like "Ummmm nooooo, that's all clothes that hasn't been priceeeeed". Didn't even ask me if I was looking for anything in particular (maybe I missed their prime skirt rack!). Very unfriendly gaze. Good thing I was done looking around.

Yelp
I like this place! I needed a gold leather jacket for a theme party and joked to a friend of mine that it was going to be a difficult thing to find. She said she just saw one at Charm School Vintage! Ha! I high tailed it down there and sure enough, gold leather jacket. They had some really nice pieces in a wide range of styles. Good shoes, good jewelry. All of it seemed like the most uber stylish of vintage. The gals that work there were super friendly, too.

Yelp
From the moment you open the door to the Charm School Vintage shop, you know you have just set foot in a vintage store that is unlike the others. As an Austinite, I've been to almost every vintage and thrift store in the city, but none can compare to CSV. CSV offers something more than all the others; from it's genuine costumer service to the wide array of articles of apparel and accessories, it is almost impossible to walk out of that store empty handed. CSV environment is what gets me the most. The energy in there is so contagious. If you're ever having a bad day, do yourself a favor and walk into the store. You'll be greeted by a beautiful woman who is passionate about what she does/sells. Vintage meets a whole new level when it comes to CSV. You'll literally want to buy every single thing you lay your eyes on. My favorite part about CSV is that it allows you to go out of your comfort zone via apparel and try on so many different things that you would never think you'd wear. And the best part is that you'll get out of the dressing room ROCKIN' the outfit. It's as if each article of clothing is a boost of confidence. And that's just incredible. The selection CSV provides blows my mind. You'll find everything and anything. Even the selections of shoes are to die for! There's something for anyone of any size and that's kind of incredible. You've got your antique dresses and your 80's crop tees and plethora of leather, denim, & floral goods. CSV place is one of my favorite places, period. I literally want to just live inside the store. The dressing room/wall full of polaroids has to be my favorite thing about the store. But, truly, every inch of this place is pure bliss. The style is just so strong and really makes the costumer feel at home. With the bookcases and rustic furniture, you enter this cozy and creative home filled with some of the most awesome apparel you won't find anywhere else. It's just a beautiful outlet. What's extra special about CSV is how everything is handpicked from the owner Shari. Shari is just this incredibly beautiful woman who will make you CSV experience the greatest experience ever. She has a heart full of gold and connects with each costumer as if they were a family member. I literally can write a novel about just how great Charm School Vintage is. It's a place worth shopping at over and over and over and over again. It's a place worth driving, biking, walking to. It's a place worth meeting and connecting with the owner of the shop. And it is most certainly a place worth really finding a whole new level of confidence within yourself with the apparel and accessories that are at the store. Charm School Vintage is waiting for you.

Yelp
I love y'all's clothes! But y'all need to work on your open buy counter! I got to charm school at 3:00pm I was told my stuff wouldn't be looked at till 6pm and when I just got home at 3:45pm you told me that my stuff is ready to be pick up it was 20min later. You should have told me to wait! I have had a couple of other weird experiences happen as well. Please remember to treat people with respect!

Yelp
I happened upon this little gem while on the E.A.S.T. art studio tour and lucky for me by boyfriend was in tow. I hope he returns to gift me some of Shari's one of a kind accessories. This place is truly a diamond in the rough of Austin's myriad of vintage shops. Everything on the shelves and racks are truly one of a kind vintage pieces. There is no sifting through discarded Forever 21 pieces in here. I was reminded of my vintage shopping experiences in Greenwich Village and Williamsberg NYC when I stepped in this place only their pieces run a mere fraction of the price. When I found this place it was called Esther's Bangs but the name change didn't change the quality of the goods--Charm School Vintage boasts quality vintage at consignment prices. I left with a new-to-me 1970's suede leather jacket, a tooled leather handbag, and two pearl snap shirts for my boyfriend and spent less than $80 total!! The suede jacket alone would have run me about $70 at Buffalo Exchange or Cream. I'm elated that I found this place. It's off the beaten path in the eclectic and funky art district of Austin's East side and it's truly a joy to step inside this shop. Shari is a glowing presence and has a keen eye for individual style. She can even mend a few items for you if you bring them along or make minor alterations in the store if you find yourself lusting after an item that needs a minor tweak to make it fit you just right. There's even a wig store in the back in case you're pulling together a costume!!! You can literally go Ga-Ga in this place. It's super fun, super funky, and the staff (Shari) is super friendly. This is going to be a regular stop for me! When I want to shop vintage--I'm headed here first.

Yelp
I was waiting for some friends to meet me for brunch and decided to pop in to this lovely store. I'm so happy that I did! This store has a plethora of amazing, unique pieces, that have all been expertly curated. The pricing of items was fair. Not cheap but not over the top. The girl at the counter was friendly and accommodating. I think I have found my new favorite vintage spot in Austin.
google avatar

Kristin D.

Yelp
I love Charm School Vintage and Sheri is the nicest vintage store owner I have come across. The selection is smaller than most other stores you will go to, but the uniqueness of each piece and ever changing clothing that get brought in are great. I went in looking for a dress to wear to a wedding and found the perfect one. After I tried it on Sheri was thrilled and helped look for accessories. I also left with some fabulous false eyelashes and wanted to splurge on the amazing headdresses in the window. I secretly wish it stays under the radar only to indulge my own selfishness and keep it from being overrun by the masses. On the other hand this gem of a store deserves the success that's coming to it. I will definitely be making many more special expeditions to Charm School in the very near future.

Yelp
When you sit down to write a summary of your favorite things in life it some times feels that the list will never end. That's basically what is happening to me right now as I try to describe why I absolutely adore this place. Shari, the owner of this fine establishment, is the sweetest. When you walk in she makes sure to give you a warm greeting while looking you in the eye. I really enjoy the personal connection that she makes even if you're just dropping in for a peek. After welcoming you into her home she will be attentive, will ask questions, and than will help you find a piece of clothing (or 3!) that you have been searching for your entire life. The selection is fantastic. You can tell that Shari is always on the search of great pieces that transcends the boundaries of "vintage". I have purchased a number of great items from here and never once have I felt that I had niched myself into one decade or another. BTW I am bargain hunter but I am also aware how skimping on the price can sometimes skimp on the quality. Charm School side steps both of these issues to provide high quality at total reasonable prices. I can tell the 40$ dress that I just bought will last me for years to come. Not only is all of the above stuff true, but Charm School is also active in the art/music community. I have been to a number of their events where they dish up culture, shopping, and music. Even when the booze is flowing Shari is still right there talking fashion with you, and trying to help you figure out what the best outfit for tomorrow might be. Basically I am in love with this place and Shari who runs it. It's a place that I love to shop at and sometimes am sad to leave. I highly recommend it to anyone!

Yelp
NOTE- I originally posted this under Esther Bangs, as I thought they were one in the same. Come to find out, that was the name of the previous business. Whoops! Now to give credit where it is due.. I was yelping consignment places in my work 'hood today and found Esther Bangs as a listing. I called the store number but, alas, no answer. I decided to take a huuuge chance and drive two streets over to see if they are still around. After a few minutes of driving around trying to locate the building, I finally focused and saw the racks of clothing outside of their cute lil house. IT IS A HIDDEN GEM PEOPLE! Be thankful for that as their prices are so low and the selection is awesome, and if the shop were common knowledge, we would have nothing to buy.
google avatar

Yelp
Charm School Vintage transcends your typical vintage store experience. Step inside and you are entering a beautifully-curated gallery of wearable art. Each piece is hung and labeled with a price tag bearing a cute title (like "heavy metal shirt" or "gypsy rose skirt"...) In between the racks, belts are tucked away into rustic drawers and cubbyholes, necklaces hang from antlers, and shoes and purses are displayed on vintage bookcases, alongside old photos and books. It makes you want to just... well...move into the place, really. The owner, Shari, is not only a doll, but she is passionate about what she does-- and incredibly good at it too! She knows fashion and picks pieces that are timeless and well-made-- you can bet the $40 you might spend on an item here will outlast any item you'll find at *wince* the mall or something of the sort. She also finds much of the clothing during travels all over the country, each piece handpicked and transported with love! Join the CSV Facebook page for updates on new clothing posted on their site (if you see something online you simply must have, you can jet right over and check it out in person!), as well as invites to the many events they throw (yard sales, art openings, performances-- most usually accompanied by free food and drink!) Sound too good to be true? Don't take my word for it-- go check the place out for yourself! :)

Yelp
The clothes here are absolutely adorable. However the staff doesn't seem to be very friendly. I was in here today with five people and the person behind the counter could barely make eye contact and my attempt to chat with her completely bombed. She didn't say a word to us. She seemed unfriendly. Also I'm very curious about why you have beautiful dresses that are $120-$180 and boring ugly T-shirts that cost $80? We tried to find out and failed. Please add some charm to the personnel.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
LOOOVE this place! It's become a must stop shop for whenever I'm in east Austin. The first time I came here was for one of the art openings that they had going on, and I ended up leaving with a bag full of goodies. I have troubles finding waist belt small enough for me, and they had a huge selection of them is all sorts of colors and styles, I ended up buying a few of them because I couldn't decide on just one. They also have a really beautiful selection of handmade dream catchers, I drool over them every time I come in. So if you're in that part of town be sure to stop by, you won't be disappointed with the place.

Yelp
Charm School is more than the average vintage store. They provide a shopping experience. Each piece is hand-picked and unique. The owner takes pride in providing affordable eclectic pieces that will last. So much, that she spends a lot of time on the road acquiring new pieces and staying on top of the latest trends. In addition to clothing, they provide gallery space to artists, and rarely do 2 weeks pass without some sort of in-store art or music event. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for something to freshen up their wardrobe or perhaps find a new one that is truly your own.

Yelp
I love love love this store! This is by FAR my favorite vintage store in Austin! The owner Shari has such an impressive eye for amazing vintage finds that are currently relevant and wearable. She is insanely knowledgeable and well versed in her field. Also, the prices at Charm School Vintage are awesome! You can always find a great deal. The ladies make it fun to shop there and I always feel so welcomed! I love how actively involved Shari is in curating events at this space. It definitely gives you the opportunity to go beyond the average shopping experience and connect with others in the community! 5 Stars!!!

Yelp
Recently on a trip to Austin with some friends, I popped in to Charm School Vintage in the hopes of finding something non-traditional and fun for my wedding dress. I ended up purchasing a really beautiful and well preserved 50's cocktail style dress and had it shipped to my home in CT. Fast forward to the Post Office losing my package. Duh duh DUHHHHH! Of course, the dress I had bought was not something that could be replaced, so I immediately went into panic mode. I emailed the owner, Shari, for tracking info and she could have not been more responsive and helpful. Luckily, I finally located the package at my local office and they explained that the postage had fell off. When I explained to Shari what had happened, I could tell she genuinely cared and offered to refund me the postage. This kind of customer service is definitely a breath of fresh air these days. I can't speak highly enough about my experience with Charm School Vintage. It's a gem. :)

Yelp
This place was amazing! My favorite shop on my trip to Austin. They have such a great collection. I really hope to come back some day.

Yelp
Beautiful vintage boutique in Austin! I went with 3 girlfriends who love to thrift and we ended up spending over an hour in the cozy and charming space. Oren, the lovely sales girl was super helpful and attentive. I personally was very impressed with their selection of merchandise and especially with the table full of crystals in the entrance. Strongly recommend it!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the best vintage/thrift store for guys that I've found since I moved to Austin. They have an amazing selection of t-shirts for guys. They're not super cheap, but they have been expertly curated so you don't have to spend hours digging for something cool. The staff is also delightful, I called to ask about a particular t-shirt and they had me send a photo of it through Instagram so they could see if it had been sold. Unfortunately that one got away, but I'll be back.
google avatar

Juni G.

Yelp
Ok, I'm not really one for vintage stores. They are usually extremely high priced and stuffy. This place is absolutely adorable. Their decor is just perfect and the prices are great for vintage stuff. Too cute! I never thought I would say this but it's a vintage store I like.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Shopping at Charm School is kind of like shopping at thrift stores all over the country with an impeccably fashionable lady there by your side to yay or nay your found goodness and she's also there by your side after the purchase to adjust and sew and glamorize what you bought and make it highly wearable, so wearable you'll start conversations everywhere you go wearing one of these pieces. Yeah. It's kind of like that. Except all of the dirty work is done. All you have to do is show up at Charm School for some ridiculously reasonably priced items. Jewelry, shoes, coats, dresses: you'll be amazed at what you can find here for under $50. The best part? The owner, Shari, is just about as charming as you'd infer from the name.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Awesome little store with generally friendly staff and curated items. Only drawback is everything is overpriced; sometimes they definitely make it worth the splurge though!
google avatar

Mikaela G.

Yelp
I thought this place was really great. The owner really took time to talk to me and really made me feel welcome. Selection is quite diverse though not large but not small either. The jewelry is awesome, most of it handmade. Good selection of wigs if you're into that sort of thing. I wore the earrings I bought there and got a ton of compliments from men and women. The dress I bought there is fabulous. The handmade jewelry is also a great find.
google avatar

Niki J.

Yelp
I love this place, friendly and helpful staff with a great selection of vintage dresses!
google avatar

Laura D.

Yelp
I am wearing one of my favorite finds today! But gosh I like everything I've gotten from CSV so much, Shari has a phenomenal eye for vintage stuff that can look really up to the minute and classy now. I have bought the best things just by giving something a bit unusual looking on the rack a try by putting it on. Things just somehow work--that's the sign of a great buyer! When I want nice compliments from nice people I wear my charm school gear!
google avatar

Amelia F.

Yelp
Charm School Vintage is amazing - fantastic selection, really neat jewelry, and the shop owner is helpful & has a great eye. Stop in for everything from 1930s treasures to trendy 70s and 80s jumpers and dresses.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about Shari Gerstenberger, owner and stylist of Charm School Vintage. I've gotten to know this lovely lady both on a personal and professional level, and each time after a collaboration with her, I cannot wait till the next. The pieces she finds for her shop (and for photo shoots alike) are beautiful, delicate, and hand-picked with love and with you in mind, truly. Take the time to visit this shop... you are sure to find something special.

Mayumi O.

Yelp
I don't really know what to say that hasn't already been said about this amazing find in East Austin. Shari curates an impressive selection of vintage clothes and accessories in top condition at very reasonable prices. The selection is edgy, fun, stylish, and flirty. You can tell based on the items in the store and interaction with customers that she has a passion and true enthusiasm for what she does. Follow Charm School Vintage on Instagram for the latest items in the shop (@charmschoolvintage).

L D.

Yelp
Beautiful clothing, lots of great seventies, folk, and embroidered pieces in particular. Very reasonable prices, everything was in great condition, and the selection is well curated. You don't have to hunt for a gem- everything was very wearable. The women who own/work there are super friendly as well!

Bryan C.

Yelp
Charm School Vintage is one cool store. Shari has been a real life saver when it comes to xmas/birthday shopping for my sisters and my girlfriend, and she can even make me look good! She has a great eye and a real passion for what she does. Also included in this great vintage shop are a wig shop and a hair stylist, which was a real home run with my girlfriend. In a city crawling with unique places full of character, CSV is a head above the crowd. Check it out! You can't miss the stars all over the building.

Mishell K.

Yelp
Charm school is amazing. The vintage selection is terrific (ok, not in shoes for my feet which are the size of Cinderella's stepsisters'). And the jewelry is incredible - both the things that are vintage and the things the owner puts together. She has a real eye and whatever I leave with, I feel like I will have a one-of-a-kind item. The owner couldn't be more helpful or make you more at ease. This is a gem of a store and a real find!!

Yelp
I walked into CSV today not really knowing what to expect. A lady in some very fashionable clothes said hello to my friend and me when we walked in. I headed towards the back and started there looking at all the unique sunglasses. I tried on pair after pair and found the ones that I ended up buying for $14. They looked awesome and I loved them. I then moved on and noticed how small the collection of clothing was, yet I still liked the all of the clothes! The price range was higher than I would have liked. I bought the glasses only and was about to walk out when I noticed an AWESOME cheetah face sweater. I tried it on and loved it. It was marked as $38 so I passed and we went to go eat. While eating I decided that I loved it and needed the sweater and went back and bought it. The owner (I think her name is Sheri) was SO nice and told me to put it on. We then went outside and she took a few pictures of me to put on her blog. She was so funky and so nice. I loved her and will definitely be going back their commonly.

Yelp
What a cool quaint and rather charming store! The items are tailored more for the ladies, but there are some treasures to be found here for us dudes as well. And guys, this is a great place to go gift shopping for that special lady, or to take them on a weekend afternoon. 5 stars for sure!
