Charming House DD 724

"Why did this hotel catch your attention? What's the vibe?At the seriously stylish DD724, every detail combines into a cool, contemporary look. But the hotel is comfortable, too, with welcoming staff and a warm vibe. Mix this with an enviable position in the Dorsoduro district overlooking the garden of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and you have a perfect Venetian haven for design-savvy travelers. What's the backstory?DD724 is part of the small Venetian Charming House group, with one hotel (DD694) just around the corner and the other (iQs) across the Grand Canal in the Castello district. Tell us all about the accommodations. Any tips on what to book? With dark hues with splashes of ochre and earthy colors, the nine good-sized rooms and suites are stylish and luminous. There are lights by Viabizzuno and Renzo Serafini and fabrics by Frigeria and Designers Guild. One suite has a chromotherapy bathroom; another—the Family Suite—has two separate bedrooms and a pretty view over the Torreselle canal. Sheets throughout are linen, and bathrooms are equipped with marvelous rain-head showers. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi?There's good, free wi-fi throughout. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?The breakfast spread is fresh and generous, and some hot dishes, including bacon and eggs, can be made to order. And the service?Seriously stylish it may be, but DD724 exudes warmth, thanks to staffers who bend over backwards to ensure a pleasant stay. They’ll suggest, organize, and book restaurants, tours, and transit. What type of travelers will you find here?DD724 is perfect for the kind of art lovers drawn to the ultra-contemporary exhibitions at nearby Punta della Dogana, and for style-conscious travelers who prefer Dorsoduro to more heavily trafficked districts. But families are catered to, as well. What about the neighborhood? Does the hotel fit in, make itself part of the scene?DD724 is a design hotel in an art district: a perfect match. Bottom line: Worth it? Why?For a combination of sharp design, warm hospitality, proximity to galleries, and relative tranquility, DD724 is hard to beat." - Anne Hanley

Charming House DD.724 (Venice, Veneto) 32 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Venice is one of the world’s most beautiful cities, with seemingly a hotel on every corner—but few quite like DD.724, a stylish (and very small) guest house that’s about as far as you can get from the full-service grand palazzos. After all, to come to Venice is to be steeped in the history of an ancient and unique place, and some find that staying in a hotel stuffed with antiques and reproduction artworks cheapens the experience a bit." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel itself had a modern interior while keeping the old world exterior appearance. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. What really made our stay great was the staff. We interacted with 4 different ladies. ALL were great to work with. They have helpful ideas, they showed us exactly where the water taxi would pick us up, they handled getting our bags upstairs, they cooked a wonderful breakfast for us. Their customer service was excellent. I wish we had stayed there more than just the one night. My wife and I were traveling with 3 other couples. We wanted to meet up for a bit before heading out for the night. The staff saw we were trying to do this and they cleaned up tables, made the air condition nice and cold, brought us ice and turned on mood music in a little upstairs seating area. They were just a great staff!

We only did 1 night at Charming House DD724, but we wish see had done more. The hotel had a old world exterior charm to include entering down a small ally with a metal gate, yet the inside was very modern and had a sofisticated, fun appearance. The bed were comfortable. The air conditioning worked great. The best part was the service. We interacted with 4 different ladies and all four made us feel special, import, and appreciated. They helped us secure water taxis, took care of our bags, cooled breakfast, let us borrow a stapler, and more. If you want amazing service at a nice price, in a beautiful building, this is it! Thank you Charming House DD724 employees for taking such great care of my group of 8 people in 4 rooms.

I've had a WONDERFUL stay at Charming House dd724. I was supposed to have the single room but they upgraded me to a double room and it was a lovely surprise. I have stayed for 3 nights. Over my time there I have met a wonderful team, always greeting with a smile and making me feel at home in this boutique hotel. The breakfast is generous and the room where you dine is small and intimate. It feels like a home, and lovely to come back to every day after exploring Venice. Everything was clean and inviting, and I'd definitely consider staying there again in the future. Thank you!!!

We loved our time at Charming House. The hotel was recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. It’s in a lovely quieter part of town. Our room over looked the Peggy Guggenheim museum courtyard. |Breakfast was wonderful. The team were helpful with recommendations and directions. I would recommend to others.

First time to visit Venice and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay or locate. The booking process was easy and subsequent hotel and city information were invaluable. The room was extremely quiet, clean and comfortable. The furniture, decor and fitting as are all of top quality in this beautifully renovated building. The staff are wonderful answering questions and providing support where required. Silvia booked our water taxi from the airport ( a fantastic way to enter the city) and organised a walking tour with Vilma which was excellent. We prefer boutique hotels and this dis not disappoint. Highly recommend.

This is an extremely pleasant boutique hotel located among the picturesque streets of Venice. The staff is extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is almost family-like. The hotel is very clean and has delicious food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were with a child, and this hotel turned out to be a great choice. It is in a good location. We recommend it!

This is the perfect place to stay in Venice. It's in a quiet corner of Dorsoduro, the most charming and least touristy part of the city, away from the mobs of San Marco or the Rialto but two minutes from the glorious Accademia Gallery. The rooms are free of the tacky glitz of many Venetian hotels, with pleasant, modern design, understated and elegant, with views of a pretty canal or the garden of the Peggy Guggenheim museum. Delicious breakfasts, cooked to order, are served in a lovely small room. Best of all is the staff, a dedicated, kind, and resourceful group of women ready to help in every possible way: special arrangements if requested, outstanding restaurant recommendations (we had the best meal of our visit at one out-of-the-way restaurant they told us about), taxi reservations. Modest but cozy and altogether wonderful. Stay here, as my wife and I did for almost two weeks. You won't be sorry!
