I haven’t stayed at the hotel hence I cannot vouch for the rooms or any services related to that. I found favorable reviews on the restaurant so we went there for dinner. The hotel looked great itself and the staff who served us were outstanding. I’m giving 3 stars because I ordered Tuna sandwiches, hot chocolate and a few Somersbys. I don’t recommend tuna sandwich because there was little to no tuna and felt more like a tomato sandwich. Prices and taxes are high but my sandwich was low quality. Everything else was great. Ambiance was excellent

The hotel and rooms are beautiful! It exceeded our expectations! The rooms are big and comfortable, really clean with all amenities. The breakfast is delicious, you can choose from many different options. They also have a cafe that has a beautiful garden and good local and western food. HOWEVER, the BEST WAS THE SERVICE! The staff always had a great smile and the manager helped us for 2 days with everything we needed included getting us train to tickets to the capital. We are really thankful for all your help and kindness!

First the bad, nobody here seems to know what they are doing. Customer service is lame and nobody has English. Rooms are Spartan with no hot water for shower. Food takes forever to come. Room was full of mosquitoes and there was a space in the widows for them to get in. 65 bucks a night wouldn’t get you much in the US but I expect more in this part of the world. The good? There is a charming garden to sit in and breakfast if the food ever comes.

Probably the best hotel in Oudomxay, very nice rooms, clean and well maintained. The coffee shop is also very good but the latte not very hot, we had to ask for them to use hot milk. But they have a wide selection of beverages available. They have a really nice garden with pond where you can eat. Be aware If you have a front facing room from about 5:30 you will have the local news broadcast over speakers out on the street. Breakfast was good but things arrived slowly and they have a coffee machine. The massage and spa is closed but I can recommend the Red Cross massage and spa which is about 10 mins walk away.

The rooms are clean. When checking in and checking out, communication with the reception staff is not smooth and it takes a lot of time. The breakfast set is good (1 meal, 1 fruit, 1 coffee or tea, 1 juice) The room is not spacious, but it is clean and has the necessary items as shown in the photos. Access to the city is good. However, there is a lot of traffic on the surrounding roads, so roadside rooms can be noisy. A well-organised cafe and restaurant are available separately on the first floor of the hotel.

Actually we didn't stay here but in a resort in the mountains. We had problems to get in touch with this resort so we asked at the reception of the Charming Lao Hotel if they could help us. And they did! So friendly and helpful staff. They called there AND organised our transfer to our resort. Amazing service and friendliness. Thanks a lot!!

For 60 odd bucks a night, I'd expect staff that could understand a basic question such as 'Can you do some laundry?'. I'm not sure that 'I don't understand'; is an acceptable answer to any question regarding the purchase of an onward ticket It seems as tough food has also required cutlery to eat it. A glorified knocking shop in town full of less glorified knocking shops. It's probably quicker to order Food ffrom grab in China and have it delivered from the kitchen here. |Raise your game.

We booked hotels for 6-7 rooms that day, referring to the best standard hotel we can search for at the time. The staff is nice but not that superb. However the worst part is the electric shortage in the bathtubs where 2 or more of the rooms we booked occurred. The staff came to our friends' room and said it was nothing. We did insist to change the room though. The hotel standard doesn't worth the money.
