Beautiful spot, lovely menu, and historic place, the views are breathtaking. You have to book for a table on weekends as it gets full. No picnics are allowed, but wynberg Park is around the corner . Overall, we had a lovely day, the roses smell incredible , and you can pick your own roses for R10 a Rose.

Five stars for the absolutely breathtaking scenery, friendly service by waitstaff even on a busy Saturday afternoon (while a bridal shower event was taking place, mind you), world-class menu with various vegetarian options, delicious hot drinks (with milk alternatives!) and freshly squeezed, cold-pressed juices for the health-conscious, calm atmosphere and budget-friendly rose- and grape-picking… but mostly for that one staff member in the restaurant (you know who you are) who saw my pet parrot taking a poo down my dress and promptly appeared with a handful of serviettes and refresher towels before I could even dig for wet wipes in my backpack.
They also sold bags of chestnuts and a wonderful selection of compost, plants and other treasures. It costs R10 per rose with a R100 refundable deposit before you enter the garden. You get a cute little bucket and a pair of shears to take with you on your stroll through the multitude of well-maintained and clearly labeled rose bushes.
Such a treat overall! And lovely to see so many local families enjoying this spot.

I treated my mom to coffee and sconce’s with a walk and rose cutting experience afterwards.
The scone’s were very good. The service was very warm and friendly.
We loved the selection of roses to cut and the view from the garden is beautiful as well.
The menu looks good and we hope to go back again soon.

Great place for strolling through and picking roses, taking photos, enjoying the view, taking a break afterwards for a cup of coffee and light meal. They also sell honey, preserves, nuts and snacks, biscuits. Rose compost is sold for R30 per bag. Parking is free; wheelchair friendly. There’s no need to make a reservation for picking roses. Rose picking ends by 4:30pm and the price of Roses are the same throughout the week (old special meant Sundays were half price)

Absolutely stunning. It was such a treat sitting there watching the honey suckers in the wild sage and the mountain all around. The food was absolutely delicious and we had a lovely time there. Would definitely recommend it.

The place only has a sit down eatery and a cozy scenery, the lady was fussy about the rose garden which I do understand even just to take a look and take pictures, personally I would not recommend this place for tourists for its limitations. Yes it's not the season for the roses which have not bloomed the clean environment was all for a great or good picture could be taken with selfies or a couple.

I tried calling a few times after their opening time and nobody answered. I then had to send an email to them, requesting to make a reservation today, only to be told that the phone was on silent. Upon arrival, I noticed they weren’t that busy, and neither were we assisted immediately - we waited a few minutes to be acknowledged. The menu isn’t that vast, but the food was fresh and the waitron was friendly. The rose garden is beautiful - however I’d highly recommend visiting this establishment on a warmer day as it would’ve been an even more wonderful experience sitting otherwise. Overall, we had a lovely time today!

I have not been here in years and it was so nice to go back and enjoy a nice breakfast and go for a wonderful walk around the roses. We picked a few but they are not in bloom yet so the kids enjoyed picking the little stragglers. They also have lemon picking with the kids enjoyed as well. Service is a little slow so go there knowing that you will enjoy some time to look at the beautiful nature that surrounds you.
