Happy Hour at Chart House San Antonio was one of the highlights of our entire week in the city. I have a shellfish allergy, and the team took it very seriously and made sure I had safe and delicious options. The meatballs and hummus they recommended for appetizers were absolutely fantastic. What truly made the experience unforgettable was our server, Angel. She went completely above and beyond—spending time with us to share thoughtful wine recommendations and perfect food pairings. Her knowledge, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm made the whole evening feel special. It’s rare to encounter service that attentive and authentic. Honestly, Angel deserves recognition—whether that’s a gift card, bonus, or raise. She represents Chart House incredibly well and turned a simple happy hour into a standout experience. When you’re in San Antonio, this is a must-stop—and if you can, ask for Angel. She made our trip even better, and we will absolutely come back to see her again. 10/10.

Views were incredible (at the top of Tower of America) and the wait staff was extremely well versed on all the dining options. Very friendly and accommodating but the communication between top and bottom service was lacking. Food was excellent. Lobster bisque was worth the hype and the Melting lava cake was to die for. Great meal and dining experience!!

Our server was Cameron Thursday evening and he did a fantastic job. We tried lobster and swordfish for the first time and it was incredible! We actually didn't know there was a restaurant in the tower and were just going to the observation deck to see the view. They managed to get us a table even though we didn't have a reservation. What an incredible experience. I highly recommend planning to go there if you're in San Antonio (make a reservation to be sure). Thank you to Cameron and the entire staff at Chart House for making this such a wonderful experience ♥️ We expect to be in San Antonio again in the future and will definitely be stopping by again soon!

While traveling to celebrate our thirteenth wedding anniversary we made online reservations to eat here. We were early, so we waited in the bar that sits over the restaurant. The view is spectacular. We've been to the space needle in Seattle, the Iffel tower in Las Vegas, and even Oscar's steak house in Vegas, none of them compared to this. Stunning! David was our server and what a joy it was having him wait on us. The food was fantastic. The lobster bisque, and fish tacos were delightful. Definitely worth the trip. Thanks to all the staff for such a wonderful experience.

So this place has great service and great Views of course because it’s a tourist attraction but the food… It’s very hit or miss. I’ll tell you what’s good and what’s not according to what we ordered. The prime rib with mashed potatoes was decent, the grilled oysters with the cream spinach on top was delicious, the Caesar salad salad was good, a bit robust in flavor If you don’t like too much dressing, tell them to put it on the side. The shrimp linguine was absolutely disgusting. I’m not really sure what they did with that. I ordered the beef tartar, but I couldn’t do the rawness of the tartar so that’s the only reason I sent it back. The crème brûlée was good

This place truly exceeded our expectations. The tower has three levels: at the top, an observatory with a breathtaking open-air deck; on the second floor, a magnificent bar with creative and delicious cocktails; and on the first floor, the rotating restaurant, where the tables slowly circle around the city view. The dining experience was outstanding. We started with fresh oysters paired with an excellent white wine, carefully selected from their wine list. For the main course, we had salmon with lobster risotto, and it was simply divine. It had been a long time since a salmon dish impressed me so much… it was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. The only downside was our interaction with the host. Despite many window tables being available, she told us we would have to wait 15 to 20 minutes. Fortunately, our waiter, who was very attentive, immediately offered to move us, ensuring we could fully enjoy the view. Overall, this place is absolutely worth visiting. The elegant décor, outstanding service, attentive staff, sophisticated food, and excellent drinks all combine to make this rotating restaurant a truly unique experience l, one that should not be missed.

The view is amazing! Spiced Ahi is my favorite. The ribeye with bone marrow butter was so tasty! Lobster tails and prime rib. Dinner was excellent.

This was definitely more about the experience than it was about the food. Absolutely lovely experience. I first time being in the tower while moving and eating the manager. One of the nicest managers at a restaurant that I've ever met the food. How I do say was a little bit under season but I think that's due to the restrictions of other people's diets. So that is something that is okay to forego but all in all of the experience.

FIRST! I MUST say... if you are prone to motion sickness either take some Dramamine or eat at the bar which is stationary. My husband and I tried Chart House at Tower of the Americas for our anniversary. The customer service and ambiance were impeccable. Our server José was very patient, kind and accommodating. The manager was very nice and talked to me while I was trying to capture pictures of the sunset. Bring sunglasses if you go to catch the sunset because the sun will be in your eyes periodically as you rotate on the platform. We LOVED being able to experience the 360 degree view of San Antonio, but we both felt the motion sickness as soon as we arrived at our table (I felt it much more than he did). The platform makes one full rotation in roughly an hour, maybe less... I think I'd prefer half that speed, but now that I know, I can plan better for our next visit. The appetizers were the best part of our meal. We got the calamari (maybe best we've ever had) and the ahi tuna. It appears that we chose the wrong time to visit because the only option for entrees was a 3 course meal for $79 a person and the options seemed limited. I'm little so usually I just eat an appetizer as my meal, but since it seemed customary, I tried to keep up with all of the courses. My husband got the Caesar salad to start and said it was great. I got lobster bisque which was delicious. Then, for the 2nd course, I got the twin lobster tails with veggies and my husband got the Chilean sea bass over lobster risotto. The meals were ok (I think his may have been better than mine), but nowhere near as good as the appetizers. I wasn't blown away by my veggies due to a lack of seasoning and an earthy grit, BUT I was so full and didn't think to smother them with the melted butter--- that'll probably improve them. I'd like to go back when there is a normal menu with more flexibility and options, and when I won't have to order a starter and dessert on top of the entree and any other appetizers we decide to share. The drinks were great! I got the pomegranate martini and my husband got a bright ale (?) like an ipa (?). Anyway, we will definitely keep this place in mind for another special dinner out, especially when family comes to visit.

Back in October, my wife and I along with two other friends had an amazing dinner at the Chart House. The view is amazing and the restaurant design is very elegant. Based on that experience, we invited our entire family there for dinner at the end of our vacation together. It was an incredibly frustrating evening. Despite having a reservation at 6:30 p.m., it took the restaurant staff almost 30 minutes to get us seated. Then, our waiter got our drink orders and disappeared and never even got our food order until an hour later. Once we finally ordered, it took another hour before the food arrived but only after we brought our frustrations to the manager at that point. He said he would look into it but never got back to us. Once we finished dinner, our waiter was missing in action again and only brought desserts once half our party had been standing up ready to leave. When we received the bill, the manager only compensated $55 on a the check for a party of 12. It was not only frustrating but also embarrassing since we had really been promoting the restaurant to our family all week. I'm not sure I'd recommend this restaurant again moving forward.

Was really looking forward to coming here to celebrate New Year's Eve. We have been wanting to do this for a few years now and finally decided that this was the year. Great parking at the Alamodome with a bumpy ride on a shuttle brought us right to the front door of the tower of the Americas. Beautiful place with beautiful views, and the appetizer seafood tower was really good. Kind of downhill from there though. The entrées were cold and the desserts ran out. The rotating restaurant that I was looking forward to experiencing as part of the fireworks show stopped about 20 minutes before midnight due to fire marshal rules. I did not have great expectations for the food, but feel like it was still underwhelming even compared to my low standards. I would think twice about doing this again because it was crazy expensive to get here and experience this, but the fireworks were amazing! Kind of made up for the issues we had and the FREEZING restaurant!

I wanted to take my granddaughter somewhere special for her 8th birthday! Chart House was perfect! You cannot beat this view - amazing! We had reservations for 6:00 but got here a little early and we were seated. Fabulous table by the window! Our server made stellar recommendations. I went with the Pearfect which was interesting. For my main course I chose the Black and Blue Mahi, just the tight amount of spice and bleu! Adi got the pretzel bun hamburger and loved it. We finished with the lava cake - OMGoodness! Awesome dinner and dining experience!

We are in San Antonio with another couple for 5 nights. Our rental apartment is literally across the street of Chart House. The restaurant is high atop the Tower of the Americas. Getting to the restaurant on the single working elevator was an ordeal that I have already described in a previous review. While that experience was frustrating, when the elevator door opened we were greeted with a magnificent night view of San Antonio. It was breathtaking. We were seated promptly at a table right next to the windows. The views are spectacular. Our server was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We were happy with the menu choices and several of us settled on the price fixe $55 meal. I chose the 10oz Prime Rib, Chopped Salad with balsamic vinegar dressing and mashed potatoes. The meat was cooked to my medium rare preference. The prime rib was not very tender though and my jaws got a good workout chewing through it. The mashed potatoes were perfect and it was a good but not exceptional meal. I felt that prices were extremely reasonable particularly considering the setting. I felt like it was a good value. I was a bit miffed that they charge an additional $12 per person to go to the observation deck level even though we dined at Chart House. This was a birthday celebration meal for me and my meal included a mini lava cake but the waitress also presented me with a dish of ice cream with birthday candle in it. A very nice gesture. We had a lovely meal, a relaxing experience and enjoyed amazing views. One tip is if you are sensitive to the motion of the rotating restaurant (roughly 50 minutes per revolution) sit so you facing the direction of movement.

There's something to be said when you're sitting 750 ft up, rotating around a single pillar, what's more is you get to eat while doing so! Obviously the experience starts out as "elevated" however will the dining experience of Chart House equal the few? Let's find out shall we? The parking is plentiful around Chart House and it's in a safe part of town, close to the Spurs stadium and river walk. As I waited on the elevator, I thought to myself if I had too many cocktails this would be brutal as I waited for 10 minutes. That said, I have a few minutes until my reservation so my date and I stopped at the bar for a round. The bar is perched above the dining area in a mahogany wood nest area. The hostess then led us to our table which was right against the window. Public service announcement to not leave your drink on the ledge or you won't see it for 30 minutes which is roughly the time it takes to do a 360. I hate starting out like this buy my waiter wasn't very good. I suppose part of the issue is that I'm a former chef so I know items are so when I inquired to the server "out of curiosity what is the kim chee calamari?" He boldly responded it was a sauce oblivious to the fact kim chee is traditional Korean fermented cabbage. That said, I sent him away to grab two glasses of wine. He returned with a pinot grigio even though I ordered a pinot noir and the calamari app, that I was inquiring about but never ordered. Enough about my less than stellar waiter, let me focus on the food. After the wine caper, I enjoyed the Erath Pinot Noir as a decent medium bodied red. It had a nose of black cherry that rolls of the palate quickly and hints of herbs. As for the app, I loved the coconut shrimp. 8 perfectly cooked shrimp studded with coconut burst in the mouth with three sauces to chose from. I found the coconut sauce bland and redundant but the citrus chili offered a small nudge of heat to compliment the sweet and the soy ginger sauce gave it a nice salt kick. As for the Caesar salad I was extremely let down. The dressing had zero pop as I don't believe it had anchovies in it and lacked parmesan shavings. It literally had no elevated elements to redeem the experience. The main course, changed courses if you pardon the pun. The broccolini and fingerling potatoes were crisp yet perfectly cooking and had just the right amount of butter along with S&P. The salmon had the perfect among of cedar flavor coming up from the grilled plank while the teriyaki glaze kept it moist as it was cooked to perfection. I got the rare prime rib and I'm here to tell you if I didn't have a date I would have fell in love. The 10 oz were perfectly cooked and had plenty of fat marbled throughout the meat accompanied by wonderful jus and horseradish sauces that I alternated dunking. The rustic style mashed spuds were good but I prefer whipped with no skins. Still the flavor and execution were near perfect. As for the chocolate lava cake, I honestly can't say b/c without being hyperbolic my better half destroyed it before I had a single bite, literally. Later in the evening I inquired about the experience and she admitted it was phenomenal. There's a lesson out there, fight for that bite! Overall I enjoyed my experience at Chart House. While the service was off and the salad was pedestrian, the view and the rest of the menu items shined as the morning sun. Chart house can be best described as an "elevated" experience yet grounded when going against those with high expectations. For the most part the price is on point so I would strongly suggest trying this place out when in San Antonio.

I have eaten at other chart houses and always had great food. While this restaurant is unique and has a great atmosphere my meal was not good. I ordered prime rib medium rare and it came out well done and dry. I sat at the bar on Christmas Day and the service was good.

Chart House sits perched atop the Tower of the Americas where you will take a scenic elevator ride 750 ft up to then be greeted with 360 rotating views of downtown San Antonio and the Riverwalk! My husband and I started with the Kim Chee Calamari and then both enjoyed the Herb Crusted + Slow Roasted Prime Rib! Very tasty! The Lobster Bisque was divine! Highlights were the ever-changing, captivating views and the table-side cocktails! The Infused & Fogged cocktail was delicious and fun to watch! Only criticism I had was that the servers started their closing duties well before the restaurant closed while there were still many patrons, to include vacuuming around guests. I served for a few years in my college years and I get wanting to leave ASAP, but vacuuming around customers is crossing a line, especially when the customers are dropping $100+ per person. IHOP, Denny's. Totally cool. Chart House? Nah. Just rude and disappointing :-(

I attended a business dinner at the Chart House. The view is spectacular. You sit in a ring that slowly rotates to give a 360-degree view of the San Antonio area. The drinks we had were excellent. The food was good, but not great. I don't think you should go here just for food. I had sea bass, which was tender and well-seasoned. For dessert, I had a crème brûlée sampler, which was lovely. The service was attentive and kind but very leisurely. We were there for 2 1/2 hours. I recommend this for a touristy night out when food is not central to your agenda.

We were visiting the area for our anniversary and I decided that this place sounded like a good idea. First the view of the city was pretty good, probably would have looked better after dark. However it was booked for the late evening hours just as you would expect. The decor seemed original to day it was built with the wood paneling walls and black and white photos. The food well we ordered the chefs special which was Mahi and I'm guessing the Chef was old with food allergies. The food had absolutely flavorless and tasted like water and the shrimp well it was like 2 pieces of rubber it was so over cooked. Now the mashed potatoes were really good or maybe they just had some flavor. The crap and shrimp fondue was pretty good too. The service wasn't anything to blow you away but they did bring your food and drink so that's a positive. I would chalk this up with any tourist attraction. The food is poor, service mediocre and the prices are high for the quality of food. If you want to see the city scape it maybe cheaper and a better experience to take a helicopter ride with a bag a popcorn.

The views from the restaurant are stunning, and I was lucky to be there at sunset!! While the views really make the restaurant special, the waiters add to the essence of the experience providing attentive service and recommendations throughout the meal, not to mention refilling the delicious and warm fresh bread. Don't miss the calamari either!!

My husband and I came here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. He made reservations, and the timeline to see the sunset was pretty amazing. The food was terrific, the service was excellent, and the view and weather was even better. We decided on going with the chart your course, which was a three-course meal. For the first course, we had a choice of either a cup of lobster bisque soup, caesar salad, or a chopped salad-- we both chose the lobster bisque, which was delicious. For the second course, we had a choice of either a 10 oz prime rib, miso maple glazed salmon, or a savory shrimp pasta. I got the miso maple glazed salmon with a side of green beans, and my husband got the 10 oz prime rib with a side of sautéed mushrooms and mashed potatoes, and both were delicious. And for the mini lava cake dessert that came with it, man, was it tasty. I would go back in a heartbeat for it. There's a $20 parking fee. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't already been.

First time visiting the Chart house and it was such a nice experience! Our waiter Don, went above and beyond with making our dinner experience nice and enjoyable. Despite the cloudy/rainy weather the view was so nice to see! + being able to see the X-mas lights! It was a bit chilly sitting by the window, so I would suggest bringing a jacket/coat just in case. And of course the food and cocktails were delicious as well! Thank you Don for making my mom's birthday treat special! Appreciate it very much!

Upon the recommendation of our concierge, my spouse and I decided to visit this restaurant, only to find our expectations unmet. Securing a table was not a challenge however the journey there was, unfortunately the elevator ride up, left much to be desired. Regarding the restaurant's interior, it did not live up to our hopes. Initially, being seated by the window seemed promising, but it quickly turned uncomfortable due to the intense heat, especially at 4pm in Texas. The cuisine, when considering its price, was underwhelming. As for the service, it was less than satisfactory. This may have been due to the presence of a new staff member, but at these prices, one would expect a higher standard of service.

I came here for my 50th. It was a good experience! I definitely enjoyed the 360 rotating view of the city! The waiter was sweet and tentative. It was also his first day. The food was pretty good. But for the price, I expected a lot more. They did have this chocolate drink that was exceptional!

Th rotating views, the food, and the service were remarkable. Upon entering parking is a flat rate of $20 bucks! From the time we walked into the tower to the immaculate elevator ride, everything was spectacular. Although there is a pre-recorded speech, our elevator hor talked to us about the experience. We had reservations, but for a party of 6, we had to wait about 20 minutes before seated. We got there 25 minutes before the menu switched over, so unfortunately, we were unable to have the prime rib, but the lunch options were great. I had the fish and chips. It was perfectly cooked, lights, airy, and fluffy. The salad was fairly onion(ie,) but the calamari was DELICIOUS. I could have had that as a meal. The portion size is HUGE! The chocolate lava cake was more of a brownie texture, but it was delicious. Everything was superb!

OUTSTANDING! Once again Tillman brought us here because his happy hour lasts until 7pm. Time after time that works because we always miss 6pm HH. Then, we stayed for over an hour past HH enjoying beverages. The views here are amazing! There can't be any other restaurant in San Antonio that this one can be compared to. The food was delicious. I had mahi-mahi tacos and they hit the spot. At least I know that a Tillman restaurant serves authentic mani, compared to others that substitute. .

Where do I disappointingly begin? I've been a long time fan of Chart House since 1993 and never thought I'd write this review, but here I am! In our weekend visit, we went twice...read on for why we came back for a second visit but won't go back again. Visited San Antonio and since being such fans had to visit, plus it was at the "Tower of the Americas" with a beautiful slow spinning view of the city night. The atmosphere was a bit dark and maybe my eyes are getting older I had to use the fake candle to light my menu as well as the light on my phone. The menu was "Chart House classic" with not too many changes so of course we ordered our favorite since it was one of our original favs, Mac Nut Crusted fish with the peanut sauce. Opted for Sea Bass over Mahi because I like it better and unfortunately, it was fishy on first bite. Hubs took a bite from the other side and his bite was fishy too. I tried another bite, and it too was fishy and that was my last bite. I went to bite into the green beans and they were borderline raw and cool to the touch. The mango sticky rice was on point flavor wise but I was so disappointed I didn't eat any more. Prior to this, we had made reservations at another restaurant to take our son to dinner but decided to come back to enjoy the city view that we thought he would enjoy. Our server, Jarvis (both nights), was amazing and definitely well versed, very knowledgeable and classy in food service. He never missed a beat! Now the disappointment. The staff knew of our fishy fish on our first visit and knew we were coming back to give it another go at what we knew is usually amazing. We brought a nice bottle of Napa wine from home to enjoy with our meal (but didn't know we could not do that in Texas) so we even ordered a $100 bottle of wine to go with our dinner. 2 of us ordered the ribeye...it had to be perfect, right? NOT, my steak was medium rare alright but it wasn't even warm. It was as if it was a bit chilled so I guess the joke was on me, I was in tears. It really felt like a personal attack on me in retaliation from the previous night. The other 2 steaks were good. After spending $472 that night in addition to our meal 2 nights prior, I won't be back at this location nor probably any others.

My partner and I recently had the opportunity to visit Chart House at The Tower of the Americas. We have been to another Chart House in Lake Charles, which we enjoyed, but this location failed to do the same. Besides the attraction of a unique experience, the service and food were not worth the costs. Service, IMO, began with the elevator attendant, an older gentleman, who was okay, but the young lady on the way down looked miserable and made no effort to be friendly. The next service experience was the host stand, which had 2 to 3 people at it. Again, they were just okay; not very friendly, nor attentive, just going through the motions. The young lady who walked us to our table was polite and engaged in conversation. Finally, the final service experience was our waitress. She was nice, friendly, and also engaged in conversation throughout our dinner. Unfortunately, it was not enough to salvage the overall lack of service. Moving on to their cocktails, which surprisingly, next to the view from a spinning restaurant, was the highlight of our experience. My partner had the Cucumber & Honey and added Vodka. I had the This is No Old Fashioned. Both were good, but my partner's was delicious and refreshing. For dinner, she ordered the 3 Course Meal with a Ceasar Salad, MISO MAPLE GLAZED SALMON, and MINI LAVA CAKE. I ordered the HERB CRUSTED + SLOW ROASTED PRIME RIB medium. The salad and dessert were the only enjoyable parts of the entire meal. I thought the salmon was one of the lease pleasant entrees I have ever had, but my partner felt it was decent. The prime rib was overcooked and lacked flavor. I took two bites and brought the rest home to my son. Overall, the entire experience except for the uniqueness of eating while 100s of feet in the air and slowly spinning was abysmal at best. I would suggest as others have to bypass dinner and just have drinks, but only once for the experience.

My wife and I went today with a reservation at 12:45. Just prior to reservation time, I got a text saying my table was ready. Nice touch. No line, got right in and was met at the elevator by name to be taken to our window front table. It was perfect. Wife had good Chardonnay at $12, I had a couple local beers, she had clam chowder and fish sandwich combo ($22). She LOVED both. excellent quality, lots of clams and huge piece of fish. I had Avocado/bacon cheeseburger. It was cooked perfectly and one of the best I've ever eaten. Loved the experience and our waiter Ken. Total with tax and tip-$90.00

An iconic restaurant with incomparable views and okay food. We came here to celebrate our anniversary with an early Friday night reservation. Instead of parking in the official Tower parking lot, we opted for public parking lot near the tower of Americas lot ($5/hr). Happy hour prices are only available in the bar so our server let one of us go fetch HH drinks. I loved my Moscato Sangria - sweet and fruity. We had the kimchee calamari and coconut shrimp for appetizers. The calamari was the best thing we ate! The breading had a hint of onion so it was reminiscent of eating Funyuns covered in a sweet and spicy sauce. There wasn't much similar to kimchee but I can appreciate the alliteration. Coconut shrimp was beautifully butterflied but the shrimp were mushy. My husband got the chart course, with a chopped salad, prime rib & mashed potatoes, and lava cake. The mashed potatoes were cold and the prime rib had a significant amount of fat. It was a bit disappointing after a delicious start, but our server took it off the bill. I got the king salmon with beet risotto and salad. The salmon was seared but unseasoned, easily fixed with the provided salt and pepper grinders. The risotto and salad were very flavorful, although the risotto was congealed. The lava cake at the end looked beautiful , with a scoop of ice cream and healthy scattering of toffee bits. However there was no molten lava center and we found it was closer to a dry brownie than a lava cake. It's strange because there is a disclaimer that the cake needs 30 minutes to cook, so I'm not sure if it's sitting around waiting to be served or if it's just overcooked. It was a tasty dessert but should be either renamed or be less baked to preserve it's molten middle. Overall it seems like a lot of their food isn't fresh and sits under heating lamps (risotto, mashed potatoes) but it's a nice ambience and a treat to see all of San Antonio below. Our server was really fantastic.

We had a fantastic experience here. Breanna, our waitress, was so so sweet. The food was AWESOME. That chef is the best. The steak, oh my God. It was perfect. The bacon dressing on the salad ROCKED MY WORLD. The views were great; however, the service and taste of the food really "elevated" this experience .

I'm from SATX but my boyfriend is not. He's obsessed with the Tower of the Americas and wanted to have his upcoming birthday dinner there. Knowing this is basically a locals rite of passage (I had a couple childhood birthdays here myself back when it was owned by Jim's [RIP]) I was fully onboard with his choice. The plot twist: I'm vegan, he's veggie and the only thing that's available on the menu is a Beyond burger during LUNCH. I called to find out if we could request the Beyond burgers for dinner and the girl I spoke with, who was super nice, said she would ask and put me on hold. She came back and said "No, they will only serve Beyond burgers at lunch". Whyyyy? They're there, in the kitchen. It's a birthday, a special day we wanted to share at this establishment. This shouldn't be that big of a deal. If you can provide a vegan/veggie option at lunch why can't you provide one at dinner?! This is very disappointing and I don't think it's really asking a lot. We'll be taking our party of four elsewhere.

My family and I went here for my day-before-my birthday dinner. It had been ages since I'd been here because the thought of parking always dissuaded me. Parking was a problem, but we did find a lot not too far away with a reasonable price. I had the herbed chicken with fingerling potatoes and it was quite tasty. My husband had steak and mashed potatoes and said it was very good. We had bread as an appetizer and it was okay. The portions are small and the prices are a little on the high side, but the ambiance and the 360 rotating view were what I came for as part of my celebrate-all-month birthday ritual, and I was not disappointed. Out waiter was very nice and did his best to make sure we were taken care of throughout the night.

I was a little nervous after reading reviews to come here. I knew we were getting a great view but for the prices I was hoping to get good food too. After having experienced both, idk where the bad reviews are coming from. For me the only downside was we were not able to go up to the observation deck after dinner unless we purchased a wrist band. I think for the price you spend at the restaurant, a trip to the observation deck should be included. Other than that yes we got great views, it was a bit of a cloudy day so we were not hot or uncomfortable. The food was 5 stars. I enjoyed that shrimp pasta too much! Both my daughter and husband had nothing but praise for the avocado burger and my husband devoured his fish & chips. He also enjoyed his 2 cocktails (ultimate margarita & caged tiki). We will definitely be coming back. Adding this restaurant to our rotation for special dates/events.

As a local I feel like I should've know better than eating at a tourist trap, but I guess I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Last week I visited Chart House for lunch and thought about taking advantage of their Restaurant Week menu. Getting to the restaurant was super easy. You first need to meet with the host at the bottom level of the Tower of the Americas, and from there you get directed to the elevator that takes you directly to the restaurant. Since I had made a reservation we were seated immediately. The restaurant was pretty empty since it was lunch on a weekday. After getting seated that is where everything went south. It took half an hour for someone to take our order, and another half an hour to get our food. It felt pointless to have made a reservation if they were going to be that slow. The restaurant week menu looked very disappointing so decided to order steak from their regular menu. The meat was over seasoned and over cooked. The broccoli had no seasoning, and the mashed potatoes were equally as bad. I am only giving them two stars because of their nice wine selection and the views of downtown. Besides that, I don't think I will be coming back to Chart House anytime soon.

Food - Bread was not fresh - first basket was not even warm, 2nd basket was warm but still not fresh out of the oven. The maple glazed quail appetizer was delicious! The crab cake, coconut crunchy shrimp and prime rib were all good but nothing extraordinary about them. Key lime pie was okay. I ordered the Peach Palmer for my drink ($5.50) and when I asked, I was told that the refill was $3.50 - I think that the refills should be free or at least at a lower price. Service - server was nice and friendly, nothing extraordinary. Ambiance - is excellent because of the view and rotating restaurant. Reservations definitely recommended. If you dine, you get a discount to the observation deck - $10 instead of $16.50

My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner here! I was a little frustrated about having to wait for our reservation time at a place this upscale however the experience was definitely worth it. It also appeared that there were several larger prom groups there for dinner, which could be why they were running behind. While we were waiting for our table, we went upstairs to the bar and had a drink. The drinks were amazing! Genuinely the best drink I've ever had. (it's off the menu but blood orange mule if anyone's wondering). Our server was excellent and just attentive enough that we never felt like he was breathing over our necks. The food was excellent and everything I hoped to. We were able to watch the sunset as we ate dinner and it was amazing! Definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for upscale date night

Best place to catch the sunset! Apps, entree, and dessert were all delicious but the drinks were weak. Service and ambiance were both good. There was a mix of both casual and dressy parties.

We had dinner at the Chart-House last night. It was my birthday and my husband made it a big surprise. This turned out to be the absolute best birthday/restaurant experience I've ever had. The waitress, Lanie, was excellent and the food could not have been better. My filet mignon was the best I have ever ordered, at any restaurant, including specialty steak restaurants. The atmosphere was amazing with incredible views of the city. I cannot give this restaurant a higher recommendation. Will definitely be back soon.

I made reservations at Chart House for a party of 6 to celebrate my graduation. Chart House is located inside of the Tower of Americas so when you call to make reservations you get Tower of Americas staff first. Once you select reservations they redirect your call. While making reservation I was asked if it was for a special occasion and I said yes I was graduating. She said they could personalize menu with a message and I requested "Congrats Dr.Ché". I also requested window seating. She made a note of it but said there were no guarantees. Upon arrival if you park there it's $20 ( Jan 2024). Then you have to walk in to tower and check in and they give you ticket to take elevator up. The elevator has an attendant and you have to wait to be taken up to Chart House. You can see view of San Antonio while taking the elevator ride up to restaurant. Then when you get to restaurant you have to check in with hostess and wait to be seated. Upon arrival we were seated immediately and did get the window seat so I was happy. Our server Jacob was AMAZING. He made good food and drink recommendations and was pleasant during our entire dining experience. Most of the folks at my table went with the chart your course option which allows for you to have 3 courses for $56. Course one is soup or salad course two is entree and course 3 is mini lava cake for dessert. No other options and no swapping for dessert. I decided to go with chart your course and had the lobster bisque, miso maple glazed salmon. I don't like lava cakes so for dessert I went with a creme brûlée flight. The salmon is paired with green beans and I added fingerling potatoes. The food was served warm. I prefer my food hot. The soup, salmon and green beans were okay in flavor despite unfavorable temp but the fingerlings potatoes were not good at all. They tasted old. The crème brûlée flight consisted of 3 flavors: original, salted caramel, espresso. The espresso is the only one I did not like. Overall, the experience was good and I think that was largely due to our server Jacob being pleasant. But there were three things that I did not like: 1. Even if you dine there, you're still expected to pay $12 per person to go to the observation deck. The staff pointed out that the state made the change. Despite whoever is responsible that is a bit offputting after you spent upwards of $500 on food. 2. I requested a red devil cocktail with modifications and was told the bartender did not know how to make the drink. The manager said if I wanted the drink they will try and make it but it would be a $26 charge. Being up charged for a drink you guys don't even know how to make is absurd. 3. The point of the personalized menu was to have it placed on the table for your guests to see. This was my experience at a Chart House in Atlantic City. This location only prints two for you that they wrap in ribbon. I guess they would've given it at the end of my dining experience. Since I didn't see it on the table, someone from my party, asked the hostess, and she said, they don't lay out at the table right away so the servers won't take them. I guess their approach is more of a keepsake menu as opposed to personalized menus at table. Wish that was explained to me. If you made it to the end of this long review, thanks for reading. If you're able to have Jacob as a server it's worth going otherwise you can spend less for more somewhere else.

Best crab cake I have ever had! Restaurant is definitely overrated but great views. Service was good. Steak was horrible and fish was basic

My friends and i wanted to go have a nice dinner on our last vacation day and came across this beautiful restaurant in such an interesting and unique building. We ordered a few steaks and some drinks which they make for you table side like a science experiment, it was an awesome experience. The view is wonderful , a full spin is 40 mins, the waiter was extremely friendly and provided excellent service. We enjoyed the food and drinks and most of the experience , it's worth a visit.

We had a great time at Chart House. Ordered all the good stuff we were craving starting with the crab and lobster fondue with Oaxaca cheese. It was meaty and cheesy. We had to wait at the bar for a good 40 minutes even with a reservation but we got to see two giant steak plates arrive and realized we could just share one plate. So we ordered steak and twin lobster tails. Sizzling mushrooms were good. Also ordered the Chimichurri sauce but didn't see it on the steak. We opted for the instagrammable drinks and still need to edit. They were pretty strong so I can't remember the names but the purple tequila one was way too strong. It was pretty but we didn't finish it. The staff was super friendly like treated us as if we were friends. Even asking us about other tourist spots and casual conversations. It wasn't annoying like it can be sometimes. Or we were so liquored up that we were extra friendly as well. The rotating dining area was fun. The view was great. They should dim that exit sign tho because the reflection was in all my pics. The bar was a cool spot as well. Two suspect ladies at the end looked like they were for hire with their glances. Creepy. But we had a great time. Strong drinks, big steak, lobster, the view.

I went here for my Anniversary and it was amazing. They personalized the menu's for my wife and I. We had front row seats to the amazing views and San Antonio an incredible sunset.

Chart House is a traditional American steakhouse and seafood restaurant, located in the Tower of the Americas Building in San Antonio, TX. Experience starts with a $20 parking fee for the building entrance. You then need to check in with hostess downstairs and take an elevator up to either main dining room or bar. Chart House is located on the top floor of the Tower and offers wide variety of meat and seafood appetizers and main courses and is known for their rotating main dining room with a stunning panoramic view of San Antonio. Chart House also has a bar upstairs where we had our dinner. Bar area is self seating and serves same menu as dining room. Dining room rotates for panoramic view, bar doesn't. Chart House has a decent bar and cocktail selections as well as a wine list. We came in a group of four to celebrate 3 birthdays and ordered several appetizers, side dishes and a prime rib dinner to share. All food was very well prepared and tasty. We ordered crab cake, popcorn shrimp, crab and shrimp fondue for our appetizers and enjoyed every dish. The view however was our absolute favorite part. Our server was very kind, helpful and friendly however overall service of the restaurant as a team was mediocre and inattentive. Took the family here for dinner one night while visiting San Antonio... Made a reservation easily on the open table app. We were seated pretty quickly upon arrival, and wow, talk about amazing view! We were quickly greeted by our server Victor, who said he was new, but he carried himself like an old pro, and was very helpful and very knowledgeable. We ordered some drinks and appetizers, including the coconut, shrimp, and a Fondue dish that was delicious. My drink was a bourbon and chocolate, which was smooth and DEEELISH .. all of our main dishes were excellent, the service was delightful, and the ambience and views from up there really made the night special. We truly had a fantastic time.

Went here to celebrate a big birthday. Was completely disappointed with the entree. Steaks lacked seasoning. Drinks weren't bad. Service was a bit slow for dinner. We got a window seat and what was interesting was that the entire seating area was rotating. Do not recommend sitting here if you get nauseated or is scared of heights. The salad, which I didn't take a picture of was actually the best thing, and that was very average. Very disappointed. Our ride share had a hard time finding the place also. We had to walk out to the distant parking lot.

Very beautiful atmosphere, the view is amazing. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Our waiter was overall good. Drinks were amazing we had old drinks sit on our table for most of our dinner. Food came out cold but still good.

JEREMY WAS THE BEST PART OF OUR EXPERIENCE! He ensured our table was perfect, suggested entrees and desserts and was knowledgeable, humorous and made the experience most enjoyable! Try the crab fondue, filet, rib eye and crème brûlée! Dining at 750 feet in a restaurant that is slowly spinning 360 degrees provides an incredible experience! Parking is $3/hour, reservations required.

Sadly, my worst experience of San Antonio. We had reservations and arrived 15 minutes early, but weren't seated for over 45 minutes. Hostess told us to wait in the lobby downstairs, when I asked if we should wait in line for the elevator, she said no, when I got the text my table was ready, I went up to the hostess stand and she told me to get in the line for the elevator. That took another 15 minutes and then when we got to the lobby upstairs, they told us would be another 10 to 15 minutes for our table to be ready. Once we finally sat at our table, we were told there was no happy hour in the restaurant, only in the bar, which was not very clear on the online menu. Overall, it was not a great experience and definitely not worth the money for us.

I really wanted to come here for my birthday dinner while we're in from St Louis...like REALLY wanted to but my husband is vegetarian and there just seem to be very limited options. Most restaurants accommodate, especially nicer ones so I decided to call ahead and ask before making reservations for next month. I asked the girl who answered in a slow whispery valley girl voice if they had any vegetarian options not listed on the menu online and she says: we have a gluten free menu. What? No, vegetarian means no meat. Ohhhhh. *insanely long pause* our menus are online if you want to look. Yep. Started off saying that. This cant be real. She literally had no idea what vegetarian meant and no offer to inquire with the chef or a manager. Can't imagine paying these prices and risking fast food service smh. How disappointing.

I will say, after reading the reviews I was very skeptical. But after an 8 hour drive and having a reservation for 2 weeks, we decided to give it a shot. The elevator ride up was amazing! Truly a sight to see. Upon entering the restaurant, the hosts were very accommodating and friendly. I will say, if you get motion sick or easily dizzy, I recommend not looking at the moving floor. We had a window seat and the rotation was so cool! It was very subtle. As for the food, we started off with the crab and shrimp fondue. Very cheesy, a little kick, and overall really good! I'd get it again. We both got the filets, both were cooked to perfection and it came with a side of mashed potatoes that were also very good! Our server was good. He was prompt and informed us of the wine specials. He offered us the house bread and the food came out in a timely manner. I will say, the table behind us ran him rampant. So as a reminder for all those reading this, please be kind to your waiter/waitress. They're doing their best and you're probably not their only table. :) We opted out of dessert but I did get 2 martinis that didn't disappoint. Overall, I'd recommend this place and would come back.

Expense.its in the tower of America's and rotates. Menu looked great but everything came out cold. Asparagus was overcooked and bottom 3" was woody stems. That should have been cut off. Dessert was the only excellent food option. All made in house. Service was sterling and nice ambiance. All together only 3 stars and over priced.

Went to Chart House for lunch. We enjoyed the atmosphere was great getting to see the 360 degree views of the city. Our server Jalin was super sweet and very attentive to our dining needs. We throughly enjoyed the Coconut Shrimp! I had the Lobster Bisque and the Caesar Salad - both were great!

We visited during the holidays, understandably the busiest time of the year, so we tried to temper expectations of the food and service. Selection was limited to a fixed price menu but there were many choices. Unfortunately one in our party selected something that got "86'ed" in the kitchen meaning either it ran out or the chef couldn't get to it. As a result, our entrees were delayed for almost an hour and a half after the first course, and when they arrived (after I notified the manager of the situation) clearly the meals that had been prepared earlier had sat for awhile and were not proper temperature. We sent those meals back for warming but none of the food was that great especially for the pricing. It's clear there is a lack of staffing and training; the waitress should have notified her manager of the problem right away but did not do so when she first discovered we had not been served when she expected. The restaurant appeared understaffed for the load and activities should have been better monitored by management. This is a Landry's restaurant and I expected better. Likely big changes will need to be made to improve but, it is a tourist business that doesn't require repeat, so maybe not. The live music upstairs in the bar that we could hear and the views we could see were the saving graces for the evening. Without those we would have been vastly disappointed. I hope things get better, it's a beautiful and historic venue!
