Capital One to Open Its Flagship Airport Lounge at JFK

"A 13,500-square-foot flagship airport lounge located on the lower level of Terminal 4 beyond security that opens June 19 and operates 24 hours a day. Designed to channel a distinct New York sensibility, the space incorporates local art, custom lighting, expansive views, and partnerships with iconic local food and drink brands to create a neighborhood-style hospitality experience in one of the world's busiest airports. Offerings include a cheesemonger-led tasting counter, hand-rolled bagels, inventive cocktails and local beers, curated glassware and ceramics, and daily rituals like afternoon tea, sunset Champagne toasts, and midnight snacks. Access is complimentary and unlimited for Venture X and Venture X Business primary cardholders (with up to two guests); additional guests and other eligible cardholders pay $45 per visit, while other visitors can purchase access for $90." - Meredith Bethune

The wait time for the lounge could be 30 minutes depending on how busy it is. There are two lines: one for guests to sign up if there is wait time, the other for guests to come in after getting notified for seat available. It is not as roomy as other Chase Sapphire Lounge but the amenities, foods, drinks are pretty much similar to other locations. Their burgers are always in high demand with veggie or regular options. JFK location also has shower rooms for guests, inquire for usage at check-in.

I’m truly stunned at how much I enjoyed this lounge. I had a 6:30 AM flight, and entered the lounge at 5 AM right when it opened. For early birds, the breakfast was soooo good. I had a mini Belgian waffle with fruit compote, and this hash egg omelette. It actually had flavor and texture! Met brunch standards. The staff in particular were attentive and quite stylish. I don’t know what the lounge is like later in the day. But 10/10 during sunrise hours.

Chase Sapphire’s Honey garlic chicken, Tomato mozarella wrap and Oreo brownie in their buffet selections were tasty. I don’t like their ordering system. It’s convenient to speak to a human being. It could only be me though who didn’t easily figure out how to navigate in their system. The menu from which passengers could order is very limited. The atmosphere is nice and has plane view.

One of the better lounges at JFK if it's not too crowded. They accept Priority Pass which grants only one visits a year if you are not a Sapphire Reserved cardmember. The space is spread out across 2 floors and there is ample seating with charging ports close by. There is a family area for small kids to play in and a retro game room with arcades, pinball machine, old school jukebox and more. They even have a fun Photo Booth. The food and drinks are complimentary and I think it's pretty decent. They have small plates that you can pick up yourself as well as more hot foods and drinks that you can order by scanning a QR code. Their signature burger that most rave about is just ok, I didn't find it all that special. The salmon was pretty good however and the cocktails were pretty nice. They have decent wifi speeds if you need to get work done but it's not a quiet lounge.

Nice lounge… but the entry process is like auditioning for a secret society. First, you have to give them your cellphone,.Then they exile you to the hallway like you're a kid in time-out. I waited almost 20 minutes just to get a text saying, “You may now enter, chosen one.” When I finally stepped inside, expecting a packed room of VIPs—surprise!—there were plenty of empty seats. It was like they were running a simulation of popularity and forgot to invite the actual people. Honestly, it felt like they were trying to discourage guests. Maybe they thought we'd get tired and just leave? Check out the photos—because nothing says "exclusive" like a room full of empty chairs.

Went here around 7-8pm on a Monday in October. Didn't have to wait at all, even though the lounge was pretty full. Had free access via Priority Pass. The food options were plentiful and pretty great. Definitely had a good and filling dinner. They even had baklava which I love. Went again on a Monday afternoon in late January. Great experience this time too. Good food, clean restrooms, friendly staff.

I was so happy to see the new Chase Sapphire on my list of Priority Club options! They are wonderful and this one is no different. I was greeted so warmly by Fanta and Kim and Ms. Nicky were excellent servers, both so kind and cheerful. The menu including the drink options were spectacular. Thank you, Chase Sapphire, for making my stay in PHL such a positive experience.

If you’re traveling during non-peak hours, this is a great place to spend time before your flight! I came here for an 11:30am flight on a weekday — just after the morning rush / before things pick up in the afternoon. I had no wait getting in, and thought that the space was nicely appointed like other Sapphire Lounges. Breakfast selection was a little limited but I won’t ding them for that because it’s the same as with AmEx Platinum and SkyClub, however I think the quality of food is slightly higher here than with both of those. I had an issue with the QR code for food being sent to my table, but I let a server know and they were extremely kind and helpful — great service! Another bonus is you can get cocktails in the morning. The grab-and-go section was stocked and had good options. I liked being able to grab some canned waters in the fridge before taking off. As far as the lower than you’d expect rating, it has to do with the fact that the space isn’t huge and can fill up easily during peak hours. While having to wait when traveling during peak hours is frustrating (been there), this is standard for other lounges — I’ve had to wait before for AmEx and for SkyClub. Be prepared to wait a bit if traveling during peak hours, otherwise easy enough and definitely worthwhile.
